The Punchbowl is a 17th century gastro pub, located in the heart of rural Essex and the Crouch Valley and the South Essex Salt marshes. We offer nose-to-tail style menu, with unpretentious dishes that focus on flavour. Everything is made in house - from bread to mayonnaise, and we use local, seasonal and organic ingredients. Our menu changes daily, as the season's best comes in, and always features day boat fish, meat, offal, rare breed steaks and excellent vegetarian cookery.Our beautiful garden bar has a lawn and york-stone patio looking out across the farmland of Paglesham and the River Crouch. Throughout the summer we offer BBQ dining from our hand-cranked Asado and Rotisserie Grills.

Le Bouchon Brasserie & Hotel es un edificio de estilo georgiano de 300 años de antigüedad catalogado como grado II (En el Reino Unido los edificios de interés histórico o arquitectónico se enlistan de acuerdo al tipo de edificio. Los grado II son edificios particularmente importantes que despiertan un interés especial). El lugar ha sido objeto de un programa extensivo de decoración para restaurar el edificio a su antigua gloria. El periodo de renovación se utilizó para combinar algunas características de la época original de la construcción con muebles y decoración de estilo clásico que complementa la esencia original de la edificación. Le Bouchon Brasserie ofrece una mezcla de gastronomía francesa y británica en un entorno íntimo y relajado. Los comensales pueden disfrutar de platillos elegidos a la carta o escoger entre la amplia selección de menús establecidos en diferentes momentos de la semana. We always make a point to visit this lovely pub whenever we’re in the UK from Tennessee, USA. The owners and staff are truly wonderful, and the food is consistently excellent. We highly recommend this beautiful countryside gem!

Good place, good people and a very well cooked food . We will definitely visit again soonest. The manager is top notch, consistently coming around to check how we are doing and to confirm if we were enjoy our time at the place.

Reliable spot with bowling green views. In a trendy conservation area. Certainly unique to Southend. Away from the usual seaside type of eateries. Hidden spot we go to here from east London. Food always fresh, locally sourced. Sunday roasts are a treat and one for the classic quiet ambience of the former bowling green clubhouse. Akin to what one expects from independent gastro pubs or bistros in Islington and Greenwich. Except prices are reasonable, the decor is definitely unique and you can go to the beach and amusements after. Must be my 5th time here now.
