Very pleasant restaurant, ideal for Sunday lunch. The area that my family sat was quiet and comfortable.
The food was good, beef was excellent. A choice of three meats followed by an abundance of veg. Would definitely recommend.
Entertaining colleagues from the US, great that we could talk discreetly and hear each other. They loved the look and the whole ambience. The food was lovely, dietary requirements were easily satisfied from the standard menu, all courses were delicious. Perfect.
The Merrie Lion is our local and we often eat and drink there when family and friends visit. Consistently friendly, professional, relaxed, comfortable and well cooked and presented fresh food. Good variety of wines, gins, beers and lagers. You will always have a friendly welcome here.
We had a lovely time when we lunched at The Butchers Arms. The food was excellent, beautifully presented and delicious. Very welcoming and attentive staff-all in all we can’t wait to go again, which we hope to do in the near future.
