Mochica’s pisco and cebiche bars feature made-to-order cebiche, paired with the Peruvian national spirit, Pisco, in a variety of cocktails, including the famous Pisco Sour. Guests sitting at the cebiche bar will have the opportunity to talk to the chefs and see them crafting a variety of cebiche dishes. Chefs may provide suggestions based on what is in season and to the patrons’ tastes. Mochica will also serve delectable tapas-style Peruvian and other South American dishes.
We look forward to welcoming you.
Great food and our wait person was very attentive! Very memorable dishes
Delicious food and amazing service. I can absorb recommend Nazca Mochica. Great atmosphere too.
Delicious Peruvian cuisine served in the friendliest manner.
Great food, great service!
I went late on a Friday night with a big group and was worried we wouldn't make our reservation. However, everyone at the restaurant was very accommodating and our waitress was amazing! The food was great too.
Yucca fries and short rib appetizers were delicious. Ceviche mochica was excellent. Our waiter was outstanding-very informative, patient with a group of six friends who were celebrating a birthday. Not too loud. Space was divided well for a smallish space. Nice for a date or group of friends. Will go back
Fun energetic and always good
Perfect for a date night or a special occasion, this neighborhood intimate vibe will surprise you with its impeccably fresh and expertly cooked plates. Cocktails to die for, too!
The freshest fish was used in the two dishes we had ( a cerbiche and a main course with rice.) The server was very attentive and answered our many questions about the dishes and portion sizes. We were in a hotel room without a refrigerator and couldn't have leftovers. My only complaint is minor. Another staff person washed our table at the end of our meal while we were still seated finishing our drinks. As there was no spill, I felt this could have waited until we left.
The food at Nazca Mochica was wonderful ! We especially enjoyed the ceviche Classico and the loma saltado.
No special occasion, just out and about in DC and searched for restaurants near me. Indeed a hidden gem where quality food is served with an intimate setting for a date or “me” time. Will visit again, great ceviche!
Had a great evening with a group of 8 old colleagues. Food was terrific, service was attentive, without being intrusive, and the setting was perfect. Will definitely be back!
Food was not as good as it used to be. Too much noise and people talk way too loudly. Although this is usually the case in Washington DC, still i found it quite annoying and uncivilized. The restaurant could just sacrifice some of the profits and set tables further away from each other and with fewer tables. There is no way that I could hear what the other person is saying. The waitress also constantly came to interrupt our conversation in a rude manner. I started eating in this restaurant on the first day it was opened. But recent dining experience suggests that food is deteriorating. The duck tastes like it was there a month ago and was just heated up in the microwave oven. Then it provided a side of rice that was inappropriate amount to offset the tart taste of the sauce.
Server was excellent. She made wonderful recommendations for the food, as well as the wine.
Everything was wonderful. Is the screen in the lobby downtown Lima in real time?
Food is delicious all around. Went once before this time, and then knew I had to come back, so took a group for my birthday. Had a few bottles of wine, split some ceviche, and had a great time.
Amazing Food, especially knowing Peruvian cuisine this is by far the best Peruvian in the area.
This his hands down one of my favorite restaurants. The staff is so personable. The food is delicious. I was here for my birthday and they sure know how to make a person feel special.
If you like Peruvian food or want to try Peruvian food, this is the place to do it!
I had really good time here. Never tried Peruvian food before and our waiter Cullen recommended us some must try option. I like the decoration and lightening design. If I have to suggest one thing, probably the food portion can slightly increase a little bit.
Was delicious, highly recommended!
We were a fairly large group so we ordered the family-style menu. Everything was great. This was the first time at Nazca Mochica for all of us, and everyone was very happy with the meal. It's a great place to try some Peruvian cuisine.
Wonderful! New flavors and inspired cooking. Try it!
Great meal and service, highly recommend their signature ceviche!
The food was really good. Best ceviche I’ve had in DC, but I would skip their dessert. We had the tiramisu and cookies with dolce de leche.
My biggest issue was that we were seated literally a few inches apart from another couple. Our tables we separated by a sheer cloth draped from the ceiling. We could hear everything they were talking about, which was so annoying.
We were seated at one of the first few tables by the door which wasn’t ideal but once settled the waiter provided excellent cocktail recommendations that would give us a Peruvian experience. Started with the YUQUITAS A LA HUANCAINA which was great, followed by the AJI DE GALLINA and LOMO SALTADO to share. Both were excellent choices, recommended by our waiter.
Would definitely recommend giving it a try!
The only reason I didn't give this an overall 5-star rating is the restaurant is noisy. And we were located at a table right outside the kitchen. The food is excellent with lots of native choices. The service could not have been better. The server was most helpful in suggesting and describing dishes.
We love everything about NM. The food is unique and outstanding, the pisco sours hit the spot, service and ambience great
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city!
Every dish was exploding with flavour and our server was awesome with the conversation and recommendations. Definitely will be back!
The restaurant has very nice decor and ambience. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Food okay.
Took for ever for the waitress to bring anything we requested even the check
The food was delicious. Great customer service by everyone. The host was very attentive. The waitress was very thoughtful in bringing a couple of alfajores for my birthday.
Attentive and pleasant service. Food was good.
Always great! Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly.
Food was pretty great. Service was horrendously slow. It was valentine's and they'd clearly overcommitted. Fine, I understand, but waiting 45 minutes for our table and 20-30 minutes for each course is not ok. Server was trying very hard and very apologetic but some kind of gesture - free drinks or a discount or something - would have been appropriate.
The food was amazing. It was valentines day so the menu cost just over $140 altogether for me and my girlfriend. I was mentally kicking myself for spending so much money up until the first plate came out. But when the appetizers arrived, I knew it was worth it. The ceviche and lomo saltado were excellent. The corn took me back to my grandmother's house in Cusco. I can't emphasize how delicious it was. You really have to savor it and soak up the experience. My girlfriend had this shrimp and squid dish that she really enjoyed.
Overall, the food can't be beat. I'd recommend trying it on a day that's not valentine's since it gets crowded, but that's every restaurant on v day. Also, the service was slow. It took almost an hour between the appetizer and the main course! To apologize, they gave us the pisco sours for free. The waiter was friendly.
So bottom line: Amazing culinary experience, don't go on Valentine's, and be prepared to spend some money.
PS: The top floor where we sat had less romantic lighting than the main floor, so if you're reserving and care about the mood, take that into consideration.
The fish cebiche appetizer and duck cebiche main were delicious, the deserts were also tasty. I will return for sure.
Amazing service and food! Best Peruvian place in DC!
