The best Indian food I have ever had. The owner/server was very helpful in recommending dishes to accommodate my dietary restrictions. We were only in town for one week, and ate twice at Nawab because it was so delicious.
From start to finish the staff was very friendly and attentive. Our server was very knowledgeable about all of the menu offerings. She even allowed mr to try part of a dish that I inquired about but didn’t order so that o could taste the difference. The food was delicious and seemed very fresh. In our reservation notes I explained that my husband and I were celebrating our 17th wedding Anniversary. Our server prepared a little Indian rosewater ice cream dessert for us on the House. It served as a wonderful pallet cleanser.
Excellent fine Indian food! Northern Indian specialties created with finesse! The hostess aims to please and checks in with you. The food is absolutely satisfying and wonderful!
Enjoyed Nawab. It is a superb departure from typical Williamsburg dining. Is popular with residents and students. Food well-prepared and interesting/typical of Indian, which I love.
The outside of the restaurant is not indicative of what is inside by any stretch of the imagination. Found in a strip mall under renovation yet you walk through the doors into a elegantly laid out setting. The menu had just been revamped a few weeks earlier, but don't despair. One of our party wanted something not on the menu and the kitchen was quick to accommodate the request. We had massive portions, were checked on regularly and left with full happy bellies. We eat a lot of Indian food, this was by far some of the best we have had in our travels. Our youngest found the food a tiny bit spicier that what she normally eats and the kitchen was once again able to come up with a solution so that she was quickly able to eat every bite of her chicken. Next time we are even anywhere near Williamsburg we will be stopping in.
Amazing food and service! The taste of the food was spectacular. Service was excellent and we felt so welcomed. Can't wait to visit on our next trip to Willamsburg!
We are from Philadelphia and enjoy dining Indian quite often. We were very pleasantly surprised at just how good the food was at Nawab. We were asked about spice levels with both our entrees (boti kabob and lamb saag) and both were exactly as we had hoped.
Great as usual. Happy to hear they are not being forced out for new construction.
Love their seasonings and that you get a choice of exactly how spicy - or not - you would like your dishes prepared. One of our "go to" places in Williamsburg.
This is an exceptional place to enjoy Indian cuisine. They are very accommodating for large groups and families. The many dishes are well prepared and tasty. And entire crew is super friendly and provide the absolutely best service. Do not deny yourself, for another second, the pleasure of dining at Nawab.
Excellent food and service. Best Indian restaurant we’ve been in since Washington DC six years ago.
Nawab offers delicious Indian food and excellent service. It is very much a family run business. I have eaten here many times and would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The best Indian restaurant I’ve ever experienced!
Family run, high quality ingredients.
I could tasted the love from the pappadums to the rice pudding. Will remember this one next time I’m in Virginia
Great service, excellent food, great atmosphere.
Great food and lovely ambiance. Friendly helpful staff.
this is a very consistent a delicious menu, food is fantastic.
I was initially a little worried since Nawab is tucked in a strip mall, but holy cow was I wrong. What a GREAT place! The inside was beautiful, the staff was so friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and the food.... fantastic! I’ll stop by every time I’m in Williamsburg. Really loved it.
Took my out of town family there for the lunch buffet...it was even better than my last visit!
Everyone in my party loved it. I have decided we need to visit at least every month, it is that good!
We have dined here many times. We always enjoy the food. Sometimes the service is spotty. Not this time. Maybe a little competition has motivated management. This experience was close to perfect.
Do not be fooled by the exterior. This restaurant is so good. It was one of the best chicken tikka masala I have ever had! Also try the assorted appetizers.
I'm not a big fan of Indian food but we wanted a change while on holiday in Williamsburg, VA. Our meal for two came to $80 before tip and including 2 glasses of wine each. We started with Garlic Naan which I wouldn't recommend...everyone else seemed to be having traditional naan. My wife had mixed grill which she loved. I had crab marsala but didn't enjoy it as it was too 'mushy' ... chicken might have been a better choice. We ordered category 3 spice which was a bit too much for us.
Décor was good, service was good, and they were fairly busy with what looked like repeat customers.
The lunch crowd knows what's good :). Love this place.
Excellently prepared Indian Cuisine. Our waitress Swevta was wonderfully attentive and enjoyed in small conversation. If we are in area we will definitely be back.
Good as always. They were having minor A/C issues and let us know as soon as we walked in so we could decide to stay or leave. Obviously we stayed.
Wonderful flavors. On par with the best restaurants I've been to.
Good food, nice size potions and good service.
PLEASE TRY THIS RESTAURANT. When you drive up to the half full shopping strip the restaurant is located in your first impression is to drive away. Do not. Walk in the door and you will be pleasantly surprised. The food and service was very good. Great Masala. We both had a lamb dish and both were tender and flavorful.
We love Nawab. Service is the best you will find in WIlliamsburg. The staff always remembers us and they consistently check on you. You can order your meal in levels of spiciness from one to five. Don't be afraid to go spicy as the staff will refill your water very frequently. They are on point! The different types of Naan are amazing. Many people go there for the lunch buffet. The dinner menu is also splendid. It is a very warm and romantic place to dine.
Don't let the location fool you, once you step inside you are in India. The food will take people who have never been to India right to the end of the spice route.
Family run atmosphere with great food. Friendly service.
This was an unexpected jam we found while visiting Williamsburg . Definitely would return .
Ignore the location- the food and experience is wonderful, best Indian food we have had in a long time
We had another great dinner at Nawab in Williamsburg, VA., with friendly servers and delicious food. There are lots of choices on the menu, and you decide how spicy you want it from mild to Indian hot! If you want authentic Indian food, you cannot go wrong with a visit to Nawab.
Surprisingly excellent. The outside appearance made me wonder whether it would.be any.good but the inside was great. Food really was excellent. I had the mixed.grill.
The food was excellent, and even my 3 year old enjoyed sampling everyone's dish.
Great food and very friendly staff. Everything was very fresh. Would recommend this place.
Tried the place while visiting Williamsburg this April. The food was very good : appetizers (we tried samosa), main dish (chicken something with mango sauce), and 2 desserts (kheer was very good, kulchi was interesting but not my cup of tea (tried 1st time)). Price was right. Service was great.
Saw other comments on this place that dish is smaller side and have to disagree. We split one main dish and it was more than enough.
Definitely will return next time in area!
This restaurant is a little off the beaten path for tourists but well worth the find. We saw lots of locals eating at Nawab, and that's always a good sign.
Great food and super nice, friendly staff. We come back here every time we are in Williamsburg.
