Nawab Indian Cuisine - Williamsburg
Alwas excellent. We go at least once any long weekend we spend in Williamsburg. This year we went twice in four days. Not a bad item on the menu and the people are warm and friendly.
Well balanced and complex flavors, attentive and knowledgable service, satisfying variety of dishes.
Friendly staff and good traditional and more unusual Indian options. They even had a few indian wines that were surprisingly tasty.
Saw all the great reviews about this place while visiting Williamsburg so we decided to give it a try. So glad we did, did not disappoint. Service was wonderful, and the food options were plentiful. We appreciated the menu, as it explained each dish explicitly. I had the palak paneer, so yummy! My husband had the goat curry, wonderful flavors in this dish. Both were large helpings too. We also had never had this type of naan, Peshawari naan. Delicious! We will be back next time we are Williamsburg, this is a definite gem!
Reviews as advertised. High quality food and attentive service from start to finish. Great sauces and pretty spicy even for experienced Indian food eaters. Menu broad enough for those less familiar with Indian cuisine to enjoy their meal as well.
We enjoyed the service and food very much. Taj Mahal lager was great and I had a chicken (Masala?) and my wife had one of the eggplant dishes. We had a great time. Too much food, but really enjoying leftovers.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! The Tikka Masala is amazing. We have been going here since it opened many years ago, and the food has consistently been flavorful and tasty.
Perfect first-time Indian food experience!! The staff was super friendly and incredibly helpful—my daughter and I had no idea what to order, but they helped us choose delicious meals. We will definitely return and recommend!
As a rule, my Indian friends and I agree not to eat Indian food outside of London. But this is changing. I paid attention to the reviews of this restaurant and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. It's a small family-owned restaurant. They are all very friendly, attentive, and helpful. They recommended the tikka chicken masala (medium spice heat) and it was fabulous. The rice, chicken, and sauce were a perfect combination. I will definitely come back here and recommend it to others.
Outstanding not just for the artistically crafted dishes, but also for the warm hospitality of the owners and head chef who go around the restaurant and talk w/ you about your experience at their restaurant. A very nicely attentive touch! :-) Namaste and thank you!
A group of us met at Nawab to enjoy their lunch buffet. It is a wonderful way to enjoy a great sampling of Indian cuisine. They serve well prepared dishes; curries, tandoori chicken, salads, and chutneys. The service here is always top notch and never disappoints and this also applies to the food. We always look forward to returning to Nawab.
The service is always good here. The staff are friendly, but not overly-eager and bothering you every 5min. The food is consistently tasty, and the service is quick; but, I never feel hurried to leave.
This is a regular place for us. Never a bad experience.
I order that same entree whenever I eat dinner at Nawab, and it is always delicious. However, I enjoy the buffet lunch at Nawab as well, because I get to try other dishes. Delicious food and friendly service is a hallmark of this restaurant.
I really enjoyed the authentic Indian food and my date was well versed in their dishes they offered!
The food was wonderful, but the service was really special. I mentioned that my daughter is a vegan, and the waitress immediately offered to cook anything that she'd like.
Amazing food and service. Best food in Williamsburg
Good family owned Indian restaurant.
I have been in williamsburg for 2 days trying to find good seafood. I found it here eating the crab masala. Amazing flavor and it was packed with jumbo lump crab meat. The bhindi dish was just as tasty.
Great service and wonderful food. Don’t be discouraged by the construction.
The best Indian food I have ever had. The owner/server was very helpful in recommending dishes to accommodate my dietary restrictions. We were only in town for one week, and ate twice at Nawab because it was so delicious.
From start to finish the staff was very friendly and attentive. Our server was very knowledgeable about all of the menu offerings. She even allowed mr to try part of a dish that I inquired about but didn’t order so that o could taste the difference. The food was delicious and seemed very fresh. In our reservation notes I explained that my husband and I were celebrating our 17th wedding Anniversary. Our server prepared a little Indian rosewater ice cream dessert for us on the House. It served as a wonderful pallet cleanser.
Excellent fine Indian food! Northern Indian specialties created with finesse! The hostess aims to please and checks in with you. The food is absolutely satisfying and wonderful!
Enjoyed Nawab. It is a superb departure from typical Williamsburg dining. Is popular with residents and students. Food well-prepared and interesting/typical of Indian, which I love.
The outside of the restaurant is not indicative of what is inside by any stretch of the imagination. Found in a strip mall under renovation yet you walk through the doors into a elegantly laid out setting. The menu had just been revamped a few weeks earlier, but don't despair. One of our party wanted something not on the menu and the kitchen was quick to accommodate the request. We had massive portions, were checked on regularly and left with full happy bellies. We eat a lot of Indian food, this was by far some of the best we have had in our travels. Our youngest found the food a tiny bit spicier that what she normally eats and the kitchen was once again able to come up with a solution so that she was quickly able to eat every bite of her chicken. Next time we are even anywhere near Williamsburg we will be stopping in.
Amazing food and service! The taste of the food was spectacular. Service was excellent and we felt so welcomed. Can't wait to visit on our next trip to Willamsburg!
We are from Philadelphia and enjoy dining Indian quite often. We were very pleasantly surprised at just how good the food was at Nawab. We were asked about spice levels with both our entrees (boti kabob and lamb saag) and both were exactly as we had hoped.
Great as usual. Happy to hear they are not being forced out for new construction.
Love their seasonings and that you get a choice of exactly how spicy - or not - you would like your dishes prepared. One of our "go to" places in Williamsburg.
This is an exceptional place to enjoy Indian cuisine. They are very accommodating for large groups and families. The many dishes are well prepared and tasty. And entire crew is super friendly and provide the absolutely best service. Do not deny yourself, for another second, the pleasure of dining at Nawab.
Excellent food and service. Best Indian restaurant we’ve been in since Washington DC six years ago.
Nawab offers delicious Indian food and excellent service. It is very much a family run business. I have eaten here many times and would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The best Indian restaurant I’ve ever experienced!
Family run, high quality ingredients.
I could tasted the love from the pappadums to the rice pudding. Will remember this one next time I’m in Virginia
Great service, excellent food, great atmosphere.
Great food and lovely ambiance. Friendly helpful staff.
this is a very consistent a delicious menu, food is fantastic.
I was initially a little worried since Nawab is tucked in a strip mall, but holy cow was I wrong. What a GREAT place! The inside was beautiful, the staff was so friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and the food.... fantastic! I’ll stop by every time I’m in Williamsburg. Really loved it.
Took my out of town family there for the lunch buffet...it was even better than my last visit!
Everyone in my party loved it. I have decided we need to visit at least every month, it is that good!
We have dined here many times. We always enjoy the food. Sometimes the service is spotty. Not this time. Maybe a little competition has motivated management. This experience was close to perfect.
