The second best brunch in the San Francisco Bay area for still goes to the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. But the views are breathtaking of the golf course in the ocean love the place the food is outstanding this service is impeccable just go there you’ll love it
Best buffet in the Bay Area 🙌🏽
Special thanks to our servers: Sonia & Maria 👯♀️
Thank you for giving us a window table as requested 😄
Thank you for making my bday brunch deliciously outstanding 😋
The scenery is beautiful, but underneath our table was filthy. There was a dirty spoon and I asked the waitress for a replacement and she did not bring me one. The food was limited and the price was high at $129. There was no listing of allergens. There was only old bacon, runny eggs, warmed over egg benedict. There was an asian station with slim poor choices for dim sum, no rice, and sushi appeared old and the sushi rolls fell apart. There were two roasted meats, no sides, crab claws, shrimp, cheao caviar and fish eggs, and a small tuna dish. There was no omelette station, no fresh toast. It all tasted relatively okay, like something from Hometown Buffet back in the day or Sizzler's buffet. There was no salads or veggie options. The fruit was fresh. The desserts were similar to what you would find in the Ritz Carlton club section of any Ritz. Then the security was stalking everyone in the halls. There was no room between the tables and chairs and food was oddly placed near the entrance of the buffet. It was rushed and rude. It was so loud you couldnt hear yourself speak and every child there looked sad and bored and was not eating. So disappointed . Nothing like the buffets in Hawaii, even SF Fairmont buffet is much better.
We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing. The food was excellent and the wine chosen for the pairing complimented the food completely. The service was impeccable. It was my birthday and after the dessert was served the restaurant presented me with a small box of chocolates as a present for my birthday. They were delicious and so much better than cake and ice cream.
My fiancée and I celebrated her birthday with an array of delicacies while watching a beautiful sunset view. The ambiance was mood setting, the staff attended to our every need and the location was set for a perfect night.
The food is very good. It is a well presented selection of quality dishes. Everything I had was very well prepared. The quality of ingredients is excellent. Don’t expect traditional fare. You will get familiar items done with excellent levels of details. That’s not to say that everything tastes incredible. Everyone’s taste is different and I gravitated towards some dishes that my wife did not. That said its going to be hard to be disappointed. Service is great with food and views to match.
Location and service gain my recommendation. Food was not at all to level expected for the restaurant and chef @ the Ritz-Carlton.
Expensive and elegant
Food was great. Price makes it a “not often” destination
Dean was fantastic. Food superb. Ambience as you expect from a 5 star resort. Wine selection huge. Views to die for. Perfect place for the best night ever.
We had the Valentines sampler menu and everything offered was cooked and presented to perfection. Our waiter, Billy, really made the evening a success. Every single thing we even hinted at was taken care of with style. He brought the chef out to meet us so we could say in person how much we enjoyed the meal. Take your valentine to Navio, you won't be disappointed!
Great for a special occasion. Service was my impeccable. Food was amazing.
Good ambience, would recommend for romantic getaway
Excellent in every way. Food presentation was so beautiful, especially the desserts. Wine selection was perfect. Service was flawless. The food was well balanced and delicious. Love this place!
Excellent! Highly recommended!!
Navio is WONDERFUL, and for context I've been on a high-end dining bender, hitting Michelin-starred restaurants in SF and NY as time and budget permit. This was a birthday dinner for two. From the valet, to the host, to the waiter, to the Executive Chef who hand-carried his signature dish to our table, and told a story about making the elderflower vinegar at home in Sweden, it was a transporting experience. The room was beautiful, we could make out the fire pits and the cliff's edge outside the window even though it was dark, and inside it was plush, perfectly-lit, warm on a stormy night, and full of lively (but not loud) people also enjoying their evenings. The artichoke soup with prawns and the spaghetti chitarra (house-made with a little saffron) with crab were our favorites. Afterward we walked out and listened to the ocean. The only thing I'd do differently is bring a few friends next time and ask for one of the tables for 8 either right next to the kitchen or elevated just off the main room.
Beautiful views. Attentive service. Creative menu.
Beautiful and perfect! We all had an amazing time! Will return again.
Overall i would recommend trying Sunday brunch at Navio if you never had it before. It’s beautiful drive and scenery is awesome when weather is good.
$40 parking is too expensive specially when your dining at $129 + tax & tip for 2 hours.
I’ve been going to ritz for brunch for many years and I’ve noticed some changes... less selection of food for sure. Salad bar & vegetables are lacking. But I noticed service has improved! I’m not sure if it was due to less crowd but nothing less, service point in with our dirty/empty plates cleared, tea/coffee, water refilled etc.
Awesome food. Awesome view. Awesome staff.
The food at the seafood restaurant was SO disappointing! The ambiance, the service however were outstanding. Frankly they need a new chef at Navi’s. Our second time there and the entrees were the worst part of what should have been a classic experience.
Navio is inside the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay. Amazing dining experience.
Great food, good service, awesome views
Have been coming here for Sunday brunches for years. This time we noticed some very positive changes to the brunch station layouts and chefs have gotten a bit more creative on several of the small plate aqofferings with most new offerings being fresh, innovative, and delicious. Quality of the beef, lamb, and fresh seafood offerings was excellent and fresh. Overall several noticeable enhancements to the menu and atmosphere which made this visit especially rewarding. The service was very attentive and friendly too.
We have gone here many times for Sunday brunch in the past, as the food preparation is always excellent. The variety and quality of buffet items is amazing. That said... a few observations. The prices have considerably escalated, making this far from a value meal. Also, all drinks are now charged for, a change from when bloody Mary's and minosas were compimentary in the past. Our waiter seemed to be new and not yet well trained, as he forgot several items. Also, we employed the valet service because it was blustery and pouring down rain when we arrived and we were dressed in fine clothes. The valet fee is now.... $50!!! .... and the parking lot can be seen only one driveway away from the main entrance... a very short walk! This felt like unneeded extraction! .... But hey, it's the Ritz, right? Next time we will take umbrellas! P.S. ... we were in the last seating, and asked a server what happens to the large amount of left over (excellent) food. We were told it gets tossed into the garbage! Now, any local food bank would be estatic to get that left over chunk of prime rib or roasted lamb, etc. What an incredible... and shocking... waste!
We went there for new year's eve celebration and were inspired when we read the menu. The experience itself was just average. Food was not bad but not great for the huge price we paid. Our expectations were much higher than what we got. Other then reference to the menu, there was very little, if anything, that gave us a sense we were there for a festive evening. Also the advertised new year's eve party with band at the Ritz was poor. The band decided to take a break 10 min before midnight …. there wasn't even a countdown towards the new year. Poor for a highly expensive experience. Not for us anymore.
Navio delivers the luxury and service you expect from the Ritz Carlton - a 5-star experience.
Sunday brunch at Navio used to be one of our favorite things to do for special occasions. This past weekend it wasn't great. Maybe it was because we took a 2:30 seating. The food didn't seem all that fresh, the flavors were ok, but not exceptional like they usually are. We are usually seated in back where it is pretty quiet, but this time it was toward the front and it was really busy and noisy. The dessert bar wasn't as good as usual. No cookies! And, they no longer discount or validate for parking. That is like a $40 entrance fee. I guess just pile it on top of the cost for brunch, which was expensive at $150/pp (though, they do use lots of expensive ingredients that other brunches don't). Not sure we will do it again, but we probably will because it is so beautiful it is worth another try but maybe not during Christmas/NY week.
This is the second time coming to Sunday brunch and the experience is always exceptional. The only complaint is that parking is not validated when dining at the restaurant. Paying $40 for valet for just dining and not staying at the hotel seems too much.
The absolute best steak that I have EVER had
Very enjoyable dinner. Very pricey.
It was our wedding anniversary celebration and we were very excited about going to Navio for the first time. Unfortunately I got to say we were disappointed in the end. The food wasn’t out of this world great as I expected from the reviews and $750+ bill. Believe me we don’t mind paying that much for a special occasion but we expect the food to be amazing for sure!! And it wasn’t. Not to mention beside the host that congratulated us on our anniversary nothing else was done or mentioned. I’m used to a champagne toast or at least write Happy Anniversary on the dessert place we paid for. But no, nothing. The staff was nice and polite and the wine pairing was ok but again I’ve been to many fancy restaurants with better wine selection and bigger pours as well. Anyway. Maybe it was because of the Christmas holiday (we went on the 25) but I was hoping for a lot more. Disappointed for sure... And not to mention the $40 valet they charged even though we ate at their restaurant!! What??? Not coming back. A lot better options at that price in so many places in California.
Frankly we were shocked by the price. I think it should have said the price up front. It brought us down after a otherwise lovely day. Food was beautiful and sumptuous.
We went for the Christmas Day buffet, which exceeded our high expectations. From the caviar bar to the cheese room to the dessert options, everything was attractively displayed and delicious; and the servers at each counter were uniformly helpful. The prime rib roast was the best I’ve ever had, and the seafood options were overwhelming. Not much in the way of salads, but they weren’t missed. And the ocean views from our table were unimpeded - we watched waves roll in to the beach as we ate. When leaving we were all given a cranberry pound cake and encouraged to select Christmas ornaments with chocolate truffles inside.
Only two cautions: the buffet is definitely not intended for children; and the price is high ($200/person plus mandatory 20% gratuity) but worth it.
The pre fix menu wasn't tasty enough to justify the cost. They also charged kids over $100 for a pre fix menu that had caviar (the cheap kind) and crab in a shell. This is not what 3 year olds are willingly eat. Their desserts were good but would never recommend this place for a Christmas Eve/Anniversary dinner.
The staff was nice and the view of the oceans great. But for that pricing, we can go to at least 20 other venues in SF and the bay area.
Very disappointing meal, they advertise it as their fine dining restaurant and they don’t even use tablecloths, the chair upholstery was ripped in places, food average at best. High prices .
Christmas Eve 5 courses dinner ($175)was not exciting at all.
Nothing special about this restaurant compared with others in the bay area except the view.
Amazing Christmas Eve dinner.
Fabulous food, great wine pairing. Awesome wait staff.
Excellent service as always.
It was my husband's birthday, and it could not have been better than spending quality at this fabulous restaurant! It was an absolutely perfect choice. Our server was great and the food was delicious. The ambiance was good too. We would like to go back for another such special occasion.
