Neighborhood gem vegetarian Indian restaurant. Has great food with mediocre service and surroundings. Only true negative is crappy parking....
A great restaurant, even if you aren't vegetarian, you'll find something that will appeal and very tasty. A range of appetizers, main dishes and sides...all with tremendous flavor and spices. As a Paleo with a bunch of vegetarians in my family, this is a "go to" restaurant for us!
Food was lovely a good mixture of heat and not too hot. Mango Lassi is a must.
The puffy bread was a spectacular looking and tasted yummy.
Really a great find. Amazing g selection of vegetarian options
This was a great place for family night out. My kids enjoyed trying all the Indian dishes and it was a really wonderful experience to be able to dine outside.
Great Indian food, and staff is helpful explaining menu and food
The food was excellent. But the bathroom was dirty and off putting. It's a pity that such good food is served in such poor settings. The restaurant needs to upgrade its cleanliness. I don't care if the decor isn't fancy but clean and tidy is a minimum requirement. The food is about the best Indian food I have had in the US.
Simply outstanding vegetarian Indian food. Not the usual recycled curry sauce - you can taste each ingredient. Last time I had Indian food this good was in Rajasthan!
Excellent authentic vegetarian indian food. Excellent and pleasant service.
A fun meal in downtown Stamford. Lots of great, flavorful choices. The service was prompt and friendly.
This restaurant had good quality vegetarian food, but I would like it if they, and other Indian restaurants, had low fat and whole grain options. The service was good, and the waiters were friendly.
Real Indian food! Great food bursting with flavor. You won't miss the meat!
The food was very flavorful and fresh. It was great to find a good vegetarian restaurant in Stamford.
I love Indian food and I'm excited to have found a restaurant with such an extensive menu!
It was hard to choose from so many vegetarian options, so I'm looking forward to returning often to try all the other interesting selections. The dish that I can't wait to order again, though, is the Gobi Malligai (crispy cauliflower with mint an cilantro). It was amazing! It's very green but not overly minty.
The vegetarian menu was fantastic. The service was excellent. Beware if you are not familiar with Indian vegetarian food you will not get much help from servers. Good experience .
Its a vegetarian restaurant. We ordered a South indin Thali and a mumbai Thali. The South indian Thali was much better. the food was spicy. Madhuri our waitress was very nice and she brought us some cold Kingfisher beer.
This restaurant offers abundant tasty choices for vegetarians and vegans. Both northern and southern Indian fare at reasonable prices.
Healthy level of family pride served up here! Enjoy!
Awesome restaurant. Great food great service. Best Dosas in town. I have frequented this place quite a bit. Ramesh owner/operator THE best/.
Absolutely authentic cuisine. A bonus that it can be also vegan and kosher. Who knew Indian food could accommodate so many palates? It may sound weird but the Manchurian style baby corn is delicious. But go for the dosas and the idlis, and don't forget the carrot cake dessert.
My wife and I enjoyed very authentic, vegetarian Indian cuisine. The wait staff was very helpful in understanding menu items. The flavors were terrific and I would highly recommend it to folks looking for vegetarian options.
Soups and Desserts are awesome! Try the Chole Bhature
Sometimes commercially prepared Indian food can be a bit uninspired and uniform. This food existed on an entirely different planet. No more ho-hum but perfectly edible stews. Yummy flavors, just the right amount of heat, much more complexity. A much more enjoyable dining experience.
I was expecting a real restaurant. The place looks like a sandwich place. It has no atmosphere. This a place to grab a quick lunch. It is not a place for dining. The food is very tasty. The service is a bit on/off, and the host needs to smile. However, when a woman left her sweater, one of the waiters went outside to find her; that was a lovely thing to do.
I will jus sum up my point in the following lines:
last time i ordered 10 items on table all items were10/10
This time i ordered 10 items and not even one was 5/10.
Something has gone wrong some where..old staff if changed are badly wanted back!
very casual but excellent food.
The best South Indian food you can possibly find!
Great menu with many wonderful choices of vegetarian South Indian foods. We had Dosa, Uttapam, a wonderful salad and a great South Indian curry and everything was full of flavor and delicious!
It's great to find a wholly vegetarian restaurant and it was great to find dishes that I had never had before, even though I have eaten Indian food my whole life. But when you find frozen carrots, and okra that would serve well as firewood, in your dish, along with many vegetables not listed on the menu, it is a bit disappointing. Good value for the money due to the flavors, but take a good look at the food before you put it in your mouth so you are not surprised.
Great small restaurant for vegetarian, kosher Indian food. Good assortment of dishes, from appetizers through dessert. Sauces and condiments are key here, and they are done very well.
