It was good, the sushi quality was decent. It was like a little oomph when it comes to flavor.
Overall it was okay, nothing special. When I read the reviews I expected more but it is what it is. The sushi grade was average and the rolls were common rolls, more veggies in them than sashimi. Just glad I got to spend time with my wife.
Natsumi is one of my favorite places. Everyone is welcoming and attentive and the food is always fresh and amazing.
Great place for some good food and drinks with friends!
Top quality sushi and very fair pricing. Wasn’t too loud considering it was a packed house. Would definitely go there again.
A great restaurant! Loved the sushi and the restaurant was beautiful, modern and sophisticated. A great dinner spot for a celebration or to hangout with friends. On the pricey side but it’s very good food
Amazing ! I Defiantly will be back
Good place to have a nice Sushi/Japanese dinner in a rainy night.
Great pre theater choice
Surprisingly large portion size (had the bento box lunch special). Awkward to walk into an empty restaurant and be asked to sit in the lobby of the adjacent building and wait for the other person in my party. In that lobby, there was another woman who was also asked to wait (instead of being escorted to a table). It did get crowded for lunch. Food is better than decent, but you will be rushed out so expect a little less on that front.
Fantastic food, very accommodating service, lovely people that run the place. We LOVED it!!
We were seeing Wicked and this was right across the street so we said why not. Thank goodness we had reservations. The place was packed. We were starving and ordered our food. For the price we just felt the food was ok. But the ambiance and service was great.
Everything was good
The fried dumplings were phenomenal! The cozy atmosphere, attentive service and excellent food makes Natsumi a great place to have a meal.
The tables were on top of each other. The Booth were were in was in a hallway- freezing cold and smelled like garbage- would never recommend or go back again. Also the service was rude and rushed.
Great place for lunchtime, I had the bento box - great food and great value for money
Good food, pretty fast and attentive service. Modest portion sizes but good quality.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, we noticed lipstick on the glass cup & the chicken teriyaki was cold. The rolls were just ok.
It was very businesslike. We arrived early for our res (pre theater) and inquired about being seated. They said ok but asked us if 90 minutes would be long enough. I just don’t like that. The plates were dirty. The sushi was pretty good and pretty expensive. Probably won’t go back.
Nice spot to grab some quick sushi before a show. Cozy spot with good sushi, nothing special.
Poor overall experience. From the hostess ignoring me as I walked in and was more preoccupied with anything but customers- no greeting, no acknowledgment and her wanting to seat myself (awkward) set the continued tone throughout the visit.
My water was left empty twice and only filled once I flagged down the staff. Then the 4 Sushi bar chefs were picking on the one that was which was of different decent to the point I was about to say something. There was no follow up to see how my meal or if I needed anything else for my meal was and the check I had to flag for too. I’ve been to the restaurant several times, but due to the food quality and overall poor service- it may be my last.
I'm disappointed by this visit to Natsumi. The service was not as attentive as it has been in the past, while the price of the dishes went up.
Also, several people kept their coats on in the restaurant. The heating was not high enough and each time someone entered through the bar or the street entrance, the cold air would reach everywhere.
The most delicious and flavorful food ever. Sushi tasted exceptional and fresh. It was such a pleasant surprise. Can’t wait to go again. They accommodated us so quickly.
Menu was interesting and food tasty but there were only two dishes that were really Italian-Japanese fusion.
Overall the experience was excellent. The food was delicious and everything came to the table at the proper time and very quickly. We were seated 15 minutes before our reservation time which was nice. It was a very quiet dining experience where the noise level was not too
high so you could hold a conversation . There were some interesting items on the menu that raised an eyebrow but nothing worth not going back. This is definitely $$ for what it costs to dine here. Overall a definite place to go more than one time.
Food and service were great.
Great service and atmosphere!
The dishes were too small and pricy. I understood the restaurant around Times Square price it would be little bit expensive but the service were so poor.
We were ordered couple times for meals because of the dishes were so little, but the waitress and waiter were given us a unhappy faces when we wanted some more dishes that made us so upsets. They have to improve their service and the reasonable food portions for their customers in the future. This place for sure I will not recommended to my friends.
This is a good place. The atmosphere is really nice, and the portions of fish are good. Both the lounge side and the restaurant side are nice. If you sit in the lounge, you'll be low at the tables. If you sit in the restaurant, you'll have to leave in order to use the bathroom, and walk through a hotel into the lounge. The quality could be a little better for what they're charging you. Wine is pretty good too. Biggest complaint is not being seated when I showed for reservation because my partner wasn't there. It was 6 p.m. The place was empty. Just let me sit. I will start drinking, and you will make more money. This little trend needs to go away. Have been to Natsumi a few times, and will probably take a little break.
It’s a great neighborhood restaurant where we are regulars. The staff knows our names and what we want when we walk in.
Good food. Good service
We came into the city for a brief stay and a bartender from another place recommended we go here. The food was delicious and creative, good size portions as well.
Loved it! Service was great. Food was excellent. Atmosphere was also very nice!
Second time I bring my kids.. always excellent and super service.. highly recommended
Excellent food and service served with a holiday smile
You cant beat the location if you are attending a Broadway show. Costs are reasonable. It is a loud place though but so is New York.
Had a really good family Christmas meal at Natsumi. Service could be better though - no smiles, not a very friendly waiting staff. Service looka very hurried.
But the food ia really, really good and worth coming back for. I love my Chicken Teriyaki for mains, hubby had Steak Teriyaki and daughter had Chicken Katsu. Katsu was good but dont think the parmesan ia needed for this dish. All our desserts are to die for - we had New York Cheesecake, Chocolate Mousse Cake and Matcha Ice Cream.
Was in NYC for the Holidays and got a recommendation from a friend who lives in the City. I made reservations for dinner following a show at Radio City Music Hall. What a great choice. We originally were seated near the door and the air was cool. Before we even asked about possibly moving the hostess already had a table by the window cleaned and ready for us to move with our drink order already set on the table. My Family loves sushi and we get pretty good sushi in Pittsburgh but this was at a different level. The miso soup was the best I ever had anywhere including Asia. Get the miso soup! The rolls and nigiri and sashimi were so fresh and creatively prepared...a great presentation and blend of flavors. Kudos to the chef! The cost of our meal for four was very reasonable. Do yourself a favor and dine at Natsumi when in NYC.
Sushi was seriously fishy! Not good
