About Natsumi Restaurant
Natsumi Breaks New Ground with Innovative Modern Japanese Cuisine. Barbara Matsumura founder of Haru Restaurants, has teamed up again with Chef Haru Konagaya to create this strikingly original destination. Two separate experiences in two adjacent sites, an elegant restaurant and a trendy Tokyo-chic bar/lounge. Natsumi specializes in modern Japanese cuisine with a touch of Italian ingredients; offering an array of creative dishes such as, sashimi arugula salad, new style yellowtail carpaccio, and lobster green tea ravioli. The innovative menu relies on unique preparations with dynamic flavors. The wine list is international, with white, red, sparkling wines, and champagne by the glass and bottle. The restaurant is divided into distinct dining areas, a cozy space with intimate booths, a sushi bar where diners can watch the chefs compose, and in the front, the windows open to the street. The whole room is infused with a warm golden glow and earth tones.

Natsumi Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We came here for early dinner before seeing the rockettes show. The food didn’t take too long and everything was so delicious! Highly recommend the spicy tempura shrimp and the tempura cheesecake dessert. It’s not cheap but not ridiculously expensive either. Great for us as tourists!
Fabulous nigiri. Every piece was delicious. The maki was good, but not as outstanding as the nigiri. I wasn’t too excited about the special roll options, which is usually my favorite thing to order. We did the matsuri sushi for 2, and I didn’t look closely enough at the rolls that came with it.
All in all a WONDERFUL option before a broadway show. That area can be pretty hit or miss with a lot of misses and hits to your wallet.
My Open Table reservation hadn't registered in their reservation system. But after I showed the maître d' the reservation confirmation, he honored it. Natsumi is a little rushed at lunch time because so many diners are trying to get in/out during their lunch hour. But the food is good, and not too pricey.
The rolls were fantastic. Try the Natsumi roll. I was a bit hesitant to order this roll because I’ve never had apple in a sushi roll before. Glad I did! Avoid the ceviche as it was not as described. I have attached a picture. It looks delicious, but don’t be fooled by the pic. We thought it would have mango as that’s what the menu described, but it had kiwi and grapefruit. Service was what I’ve come to expect in NYC. If you need something, you better be ready to wave the waiter down because they’re not going out of their way to make sure your experience is memorable.
Our two best dishes were our started, king crab dumplings and black cod. Both items were incredible! The drinks were amazing, but the quick and attentive service from all members of the staff is what made the night. Before I had a chance to ask for anything, someone was there anticipating my needs - not overbearingly present, but not completely absent either.
Natsumi is an all-around great option for pre- or post-theater dining.
Delicious food and ambience! I was also very impressed, because I put in a request for a birthday dessert surprise and they delivered with the slice of cake on the house. The seating was in an area where there was cold wind, and there was a space heater. There were some issues with the space heater working, but the waiter came over multiple times to fix it and make sure that I wasn't cold. For two people, it came to about $70. Highly recommend!!!
Seated in corner padded seats that were great for a couple talking and enjoying. KingCrab dumplings are as advertised, very good! Sushi was very fresh and filled with flavor. The tempura breading is probably the best I’ve ever had. Overall very good experience and even better food.
Great place for a pre-theater dinner with friends we hadn't seen for a while. We all enjoyed being able to carry on a conversation without having to shout, and everyone enjoyed their dinner. We got a nice welcome, a very good server, and a nice experience there. It should be noted that this restaurant is in very close proximity to several theaters.
Spur of the moment for a bite on an early Sunday eve did not disappoint. Sat at the counter. Service was friendly and efficient. beer cold. Fish quite fresh and well prepared as were different salads ordered. Adjacent lounge of the same name appeared more cozy and "hipper"
and were the photos shown in the ad...
