During the black out we were kicked out before finishing our drinks and told to pay full price.
Staff attitude, so many people in the theatre district that they dont care, it will be full anyways and they will rush you to do 3 servings per night. Terrible experience.
Poor, won’t go back. Table too small, thumping of bad music on loop, entree dishes over cooked. Liked our sushi app.
Nice fairly up-scale sushi restaurant in the Theater District. Nothing too fancy but decent food and atmosphere and a good place to go pre- or post-show.
The bento boxes were very large (two story!) and filled with a wonderful variety of foods. We were impressed and very full!
Hello! Thank you for taking the time to write this. We are very happy that you enjoyed your bento boxes and that you were nice and full! We hope to see you again.
Very good food.
Hi! Thanks for taking the time to write this review. We're glad you enjoyed your food. Hope to see you soon!
Good food and good prices! Excellent service. Nice spacious seating.
Hello Kate, thanks for taking the time out to write this review. We're happy that you had a good experience with the food and the service. We hope to see you again soon!
Natsumi lives up to its claims to be a "Japanese fusion" dining spot. The menu features an inventive blend of traditional Japanese cuisine with smart twists to other traditions. My dining partners raved about their sushi choices; I found my grilled fish to be succulent and very tasty. Lots of sake to order from, along with well-paired wines. The service is attentive and prompt. The restaurant's also located close to Times Square theaters: so we made our show with plenty time to spare. Would definitely dine here again!
Cute little place, fresh sushi and great staff. You WILL get to know the people around you as the seating is very tight.
Pre-theater. Good, efficient meal
Wonderful sushi! Beautiful restaurant with friendly and fast service. Great place to go for a night at the theater!
Outstanding sushi and other Asian-inspired dishes. Excellence in service, food preparation, bar, ambiance and a good location for the theatre district.
Outstanding food, service and convenient to everything!
The food was very good. The sushi & sashimi were fresh. The shumai & dumplings were alsio good.
Excellent Japanese sushi in the theatre district.
Very fresh, well prepared meals. Salmon teriyaki was great. Service at the dinner hour is rushed, I’m sure to accommodate the theater crowd.
Nice atmosphere for business lunch or a date. Enjoyed the box lunch which did not leave me hungry. Really can't go wrong at this place.
Perfect location, just steps from the #1 train, was especially appealing on a rainy day. Cozy, comfortable seating great for conversation. Excellent food. Great service. Second time here and will definitely make it a regular.
We have been to Natsumi before and remembered it as a good option for after the theater. Unfortunately, we were sorry that we selected this restaurant. First the lychee martinis tasted like soda pop, hard to believe there was any vodka in them. Next my chicken and vegetable dumplings were tasteless. I was excited to order the pizza nuovo: salmon and avocado on flatbread. Terrible choice. It tasted like canned salmon smeared on a cracker. Very disappointing. We will not be back. The one redeeming feature was my chicken and shrimp entree. And although less expensive than most New York City restaurants, we still spent $175 for two.
Location was convenient but the sushi was just ok. Sushi was room temp, and I've had much much better in NYC.
The staff - food and restaurant are the best !! Been going for years as used to live around the corner but now occasionally. Tony , food , service and staff still the best . Always a treat.
Natsumi is a fabulous Japanese restaurant in the theatre district. I highly recommend Natsumi if you are a sushi lover, or enjoy a bento box. Overall, the restaurant is a 10, except for the service being extremely rushy. Then again, you can always tell the server to slow down.
When we travel to NYC stopping here always on our list.
Great location in the theatre district. Our meal was really delicious and we will be back. The cocktail I had was delicious but seemed very, very small for the price.
Great location. Nice ambiance and great service. Food was nicely presented, fresh, and very tasty. Some in our party prefer a little more oomph but definitely a restaurant we would return to.
Food was excellent, fresh and service was very prompt and the servers were attentive. I had a business dinner and one of the guests commented it was the best sushi he’s had and he lives in Vancouver where great sushi is abundant.
We enjoyed the Rock Shrimp Tempura appetizer, the Natsumi mixed grill and two sushi rolls. Great quick service and good food and drinks...Made for a great date night!
Food is decent, a little too noise to have private conversation
Food is consistently good.
Perfect for pre-theater, always fresh and delicious, substitutions are rarely permitted but the choices are plentiful. The bar area is fun for cocktails prior and the full menu is available there as well.
Awesome food w great service. I alwsys eat here when in nyc. Fast service, outstanding sushi. Great lunch value.
Food comes quickly from kitchen. It is more of a fusion restaurant than Japanese. Sushi is average if you’re Japanese, but above average otherwise. Worth going to the restaurant
Always fresh and delicious
The food was exceptional however wait staff was not up to par.
Delicious! And prices are reasonable for quality of fish and location. Really nice ambiance :)
It was exactly what I wanted. Small, with the right amount of romance but not too stuffy and pretentious. Wife loved it. Sushi was delicious! Would definitely go back and would definitely recommend to anyone in the area!
Such a great location...however, the hustle and bustle of the staff is distracting. The service is poor. No attention to detail/no attempt to educate the customer on the menu choices or descriptions.
Made a on line reservation. The owner or manager was somewhat rude. Didn't verify my information and instead took customers before me! What's the point? I literally had to speak to her in a stern voice. Not how I like to interact . Got passed that and enjoyed the food. Great sushi. Celebrated two events and was told they would only give one dessert with candle. That was a thumbs down.
