I visited this place 3 times in a row for good quality food and nice ambiance. Service was indiffernt if you there oror not... last time it was a ffeelin of getting rid of the clients...shame.... next time in NYC i will find another sushi place ....
The food is always excellent. The best fresh seaweed salad you will probably ever enjoy...nice staff with a nice sushi selection open long hours day & night for those special cravings.
Excellent food, fresh, and tasty. Loved the food presentations and inventive menu.
Excellent sushi but also has many other Japanese options
Always great sushi sashimi creative dishes as well as hot entrees...very flavorful and seasoned nicely.
Great before theater for excellent quality food, fast service, pleasant atmosphere and reasonable price.
Portions were good sized and the price was great. Had a dinner for 2 with appetizers and drinks and the bill was a little over $100. Mixed drinks were a little lacking aka not strong at all but if you’re getting wine or just dining you’ll be fine.
Delicious food and good portions. Natsumi is my favorite place for lunch with colleagues.
Close to Broadway, good food and okay service.
Food was good. Didn’t order cocktails because the bar staff was so rude! Waitress was extremely rude when we asked about the happy hour menu. She told us that if we wanted happy hour, we had to give up our table and go across the way. That’s not what we asked!!! Mandatory tip on a party of 6!? I usually tip more than what they charged, so they lost out on that.
Wir hatten ein super Dinner bei Natsumis. Tolles Tuna Tartar gefolgt von der Signature Sushi und Sashimi Platte. Einfach lecker 😋
Sushi tasted off. Very strange taste to all 3 rolls. I don’t usually write reviews let alone a negative review but the food quality and taste were so subpar I want to say something so that this will be addressed. Food tasted bad.
I was not very impressed by the food and our waitress didn’t smile once. Everything overall was just “ok”.
Great sushi and can’t beat the prices for for the location!
Great food and service.
Some of the best sushi I've ever had. However, this was my first NYC sushi experience so maybe I'm jaded. Fantastic quality and the service was great. Perfect atmosphere.
Everything we ate was amazing! The fish was extremely fresh and the green tea gnocchi appetizer was a crowd favorite! Thanks for a great experience!
I'm a repeat customer & usually give this spot al-around 5 stars. On my most recent visit, something was "off", and I believe they were understaffed. Service was very slow - but courteous - and staff seemed stressed. Most dishes were excellent, as usual, but my usual favorite (Teriyaki chicken) was rubbery and not up to Natsumi's standard.
I chalk this up to an off-night and would definitely give it another try.
Restaurant Week at a well reviewed restaurant.
The food was great as was the service. The restaurant is a bit noisy but over all I enjoyed my meal.
The sushi rolls were awesome, tempura a little greasy. The images of the tuna martini make it look bigger than it is, but it was still very good! The ambience was very nice. You need to make a reservation earlier in the day at least. Walk-ins seemed to be redirected to the bar area adjacent to the restaurant.
Sushi and service were both outstanding! Very happy with this restaurant. Look forward to going again.
Solid food every time. Perfect date spot...classy but not pretentious.
A really excellent choice for sushi ore-theatre. I would highly recommend.
Disappointing meal. Salmon Sushi was very fatty. Portions are small and ordinary. Really expected more based on Zagat rating. I think I'll look at Michelins from now on.
Great location for pre-theater meal but Sushi could be better. Dessert and appetizers were very good but it is kind od unacceptable for a relatively expensive Japanese restaurant in a great location not to have the best quality sushi.
Food a bit overpriced
Sushi was fair. Deserts, tempura cheese cake and deep fried bananas unique and quite good.
Happy hour only available in the lounge section which is just odd. This alone warrants three stars
Love this place. Great food. Everything was delicious. Especially the zen maki roll and I don't usually like asparagus.
We had a wonderful dinner experience at the 28th St. Natsumi so wanted to introduce a friend to the restaurant during restaurant week for lunch only to find out it was for dinner only. Will not return. It was insanely noisy so we couldn’t talk- the tables were so close and the staff just couldn’t get us out of there fast enough -We got the bill as we took our last bite without asking if we wanted dessert. The bar lounge next-door we noticed much too late was beautifully quiet and inviting. All in all very disappointing.
Ambiance- Cozy, they arranged the seating really well. It's compact but you'll still have privacy. The decor is average; not overly fancy but it's not bland either. It's not a great photo scene.
Service-Attentive and very organized staff. They're well aware of the customers and the surroundings.
Food-Definitely have hit or miss foods. The green tea gnocchi was too oily/buttery-those with sensitive stomach should stay away from this. The dumplings were well-seasoned. The sushi, some were fresh, but most tasted average at best. We ordered the filet mignon and the staff forgot to ask us what sauce and we got the shiitake peppercorn sauce option (very salty!). I got the natsumi grill mixed grill but I only received shrimp. It wasn't bad, but I feel cheated.
No handicapped facilities in restaurant! Steps without railings! Surly hostess and other chilly staffer Said!
We go every time we come to NYC to
see a show. Food is always awesome and the service is great!
Natsumi was good. Not exceptional, but a good restaurant. Nice food. Location excellent if your seeing a show on Broadway.
Very nice evening for a date night! Must try the miso black cod, sooo good!
I have been coming to this restaurant for the last five years and haven’t never had a bad experience.
Great restaurant with amazing service and awesome food!
everything is good.
Loved the food. Small but didn't feel crowded. Our waiter was not very attentive.
Always my go to place for fresh and delicious sushi, particularly with out of town guests! Never fails to impress us all. Highly recommend.
