Top of the line, superb establishment in quaint Camden, ME. Very nice ambience in a picturesque Inn. Not cheap but the quality easily matches/exceeds the price. A destination location. The cod and tartare were superb as was the burger, yes, the burger was the best I have had! Was seafooded out and craved one, sourced locally. Eat here.
For a fine dining restaurant, this missed the mark!
Food was good
Service was NOT good
Our food was served and no one came back to check on whether it was the proper order or if anyone needed anything. My husband needed additional sauce for his steak, and when he finally got up to find someone to ask for some, she brought the wrong sauce!!!! Really??
The wine list started at 60.00-
Just not a great experience for a Monday night dinner at a highly rated restaurant. Not worth the money spent.
Food was fine but didn’t justify the price or high-end pretense of the restaurant. Dishes lacked depth of flavor, certain elements were repeated in ways I wouldn’t expect at this kind of restaurant (eg, the exact same crisped artichokes on top of appetizer and main course). The setting was quite nice but I don’t think we’ll be back for dinner again.
Excellent choices on the ala carte menu plus a four course and a lobster five course fixed menu. Oysters were exceptional.!
The Relais & Chateaux designation elevates the total dining experience to perfection from the moment you arrive! All very special!!!!!
Excellent unique dishes, wait staff was attentive and the location is beautiful
It took ten minutes for a drink order to be taken and another ten for the drinks to come. The server was devoid of rapport. The portions were delicate but the food was very well prepared. The cod was delightful. The dessert was delicious, a hazelnut chocolate cake with ice cream, but the cake itself was about the size of a half dollar and was not a centimeter high. That’s way too small!
Superb food in a beautiful presentation. Wine sommelier Steve added greatly to our enjoyment. He brought out wines we never would have known about that perfectly paired with our dishes. Ambiance is relaxed and friendly. Best food we have had in Maine.
The atmosphere was excellent. I believe it to be over priced for the quality of the food. I have had much better prepared food for the same price. Having many waiters was okay but the main waiter was not very prompt in checking for beverages. I would not visit again as it was truly disappointing from all I had read and expected.
We thought the woman server who accidentally overturned a glass of Prosecco soon after it arrived could have been a little more apologetic and attentive afterwards. I had to ask our waiter for an additional napkin, as I could not rest my wrist on the tablecloth where it was soaked next to my plate, and it took a long time to get another menu after mine lay drenched on the floor. We found the lamb very good, but the sole rather lacking in flavor and texture. The sommelier was too eager to sell us a $25 glass of white wine that he favored for the sole accompaniment, even after I tasted it and told him I didn't care for sweet wines. He did not offer to replace it after seeing that I had not been able to drink it. Between the two of us, we managed to drink only a quarter of it. We also thought the portions were on the skimpy side. We wanted to be thrilled with our Natalie's experience, as it was our 7th anniversary. Our waiter was the highlight; I don't recall his name, but he was very congenial and deserved the 25% tip we left.
True fine dining experience. From parking to departing every detail is perfect. Reception offered us selection of tables. Immediate attention from servers and sommelier.
Dropped fork and additional fork brought to table without asking.
Attentive but not intrusive
Seafood tower fantastic
Wife’s birthday was noted on reservation and Prosecco brought to table on seating and everyone wished her happy birthday
Definitely world class dining
We were seated outside and the weather was beautiful. Added touch of outdoor heaters. The staff is still considerate of covid safety as they were all wearing masks. The service was impeccable and the food was outstanding. The 4 course price fix menu made the prices a little more reasonable. The lobster bisque was unlike anything I’ve had before. Tasted of the sea with an unusual bit of earthiness. A really delicious and upscale dining experience.
While we savor culinary experiences and wine dinners with sommelier pairings on a very frequent basis this was such a bummer for us. The amuse-bouches was probably the worst palette cleanser, the entrees were actually terrible tasting from the scape: green tops of garlics to the smoked tofu to the green sauce under the rib eye were inedible:: we enjoy the Relais & Chateau brand around the world and many many restaurants around the world ::: this ranked one of the worst ever for us::: we hate to leave negative reviews and are never difficult patrons but since you asked for our review here it is….
The setting is lovely, as is the service. Cocktails were excellent. Dinner was very good, although some appetizers were way overpriced.
If you choose wisely, it is a very nice splurge.
Food, atmosphere and service was all amazing. Highly recommend- we will definitely be going back.
The dinner was delicious, creative, moderate in size (appreciated by my husband and myself) and artistic. We experienced some foods that we had previously not eaten. All and all beautiful evening (and breakfast was interesting too).
Culinary experience extraordinaire
Out of this world expertise on wine pairings
So very special to experience
Anniversary dinner. The service and sommelier are always excellent. We had the lobster tasting menu with the wine pairing. Excellent and fun prepared lobster dishes. The atmosphere outside where we sat gives great views of the harbor. Always a treasured experience!
Everything was great but portions could have been a little larger for the price but food and service was fantastic.
The service and ambiance were great. We started with a seafood tower. Being in New England and from New England, I was very disappointed with the entire thing. The shrimp were small and soggy, the crab legs were small pieces as opposed to the entire leg, the oysters were just ok, the lobster salad was mediocre but surprisingly the blue fish dip was the best thing on the tower. Our meals were good, but for the price, I was expecting to be blown away. The pannacotta was awful at first, but the chef sent out a new one that was better but still not like a traditional pannacotta. Overall, I’d say the experience was good, I just had higher hopes for the food based on the reviews and the price.
Again, the staff and wine list was exceptional!
Very nice. Staff was excellent. Sommelier very helpful.
a must - just perfect, THANK YOU all @ Natalie's
My husband and I enjoyed a delicious dinner at Natalie’s . Food consistently delicious and service impeccable! Highly recommended. If weather permits, take advantage of eating outside!
Great all around service, food ambience. The seafood tower, the wine specialist, the lobster
Bisque. Perfect date night
Absolutely wonderful experience. No issues with the desk on arrival. Everyone was very attentive and professional. We both had the Lobster tasting menu which was innovative and outstanding in both presentation and flavor. We added the premium wine pairing and the sommelier outdid himself in presenting very nice red wine options to the white wine dominated list that were wonderful. We had a lovely table outside on the beautiful porch area that was cozy and quiet. For this experience we expected to pay a higher price point and it was well worth it. A gem in Camden not to be missed!
Food was just okay and the menu selection was rather limited. Overpriced for the quantity of food per entree.
Have been many times - and the service iis excellent, food amazing, great atmosphere. But hostess experience totally started us off on negative notes and almost walked away. Not only was the check in experience excruciatingly slow and you feel like sheep just standing in a doorway line waiting to be addressed they have a policy that’ you must show your vaccine card or be masked. Since made reservation through open table would of thought that this would of been communicated in the email confirmation versus now feeling like they were going to kick us out or how inconvenient it was to offer me a paper mask. Have both been vaccined for months - first experience of this type and felt very unwelcomed by everyone whispering about the situation at the hostess stand. Wait staff and their consistently great food saved the evening - but will think twice about returning since there are so many great choices in Camden.
Food was beautifully presented. Portions were small. Flavors were muted. Ambiance was pretentious. Gourmet but lacked something. We have eaten and stayed in several Relais and Chateaux. Some are more hyped than others. This one had the image but the food needed a revision. All the techniques were there but it lacked the subtleties of different flavors coming together.
We eat at Natalies at least 3-6xs a year. Typically never have an average meal and of course with four of us and one bottle of wine we have high expectations since the bill is 500.00. The sole was meh..with peas and a sauce that was very mild. Nothing to write home about. The one desert was disappointing to the entire group. They were expecting cakes with ice cream. It was eaten but not impressive. The lamb and beef I heard was very good. We are local and will return but perhaps I will peruse the menu prior to recommending for our out of town friends.
Unique and lovely. Outrageously awesome food. Another level indeed.
Very pricey but well worth it for the occasional special outing.
We both had the lobster 5 course. The flavors and unique preparations were outstanding. Only disappointment was the key lime panna cotta desert which had the texture of cheese cake rather than panna cotta and lacked flavor.
My husband and I had dinner at Natalie's to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated outside on the porch above the parking lot with a distant view of the town and mountains in the background. I made the reservation online and requested two glasses of champagne which were brought to our table shortly after we were seated. The waitress was very kind and took a couple photos of us. I ordered the four course meal which I thought was good but my husband would not have enjoyed. Our meal took two hours to complete and we were seated near the stairs where guests of the hotel were entering or exiting but our overall experience at Natalie's was very good.
Relaxing, enjoyable, quite dinner, good service! A little bit to formal though!
We did enjoy the relaxing ambiance!
Everything and everyone in this place is perfect. Service is old school but, ironically by young guys (so, no, being nice is not a generational thing). Beautiful setting in a traditional New England Inn. Food was amazing starting from lobster bisque and ending with, well, The Lobster. Lamb was excellent too. Very good selection of wine and very knowledgeable sommelier to help you with the selection.
The only regret is… it is not a driving distance from Boston. But seriously, the food should be a good enough excuse to stay overnight
Always an exquisite experience, both in terms of the menu and the wine pairings.
We loved everything about this restaurant. The wait staff and sommelier were very attentive and helpful. The food was excellent. I chose the lobster tasting menu which was pricey but excellent. It started with lobster salad done two different ways and then progressed to lobster tempura with soy sauce and a whole egg for mixing in the sauce. The lobster was cooked perfectly and the sauce with the egg was delicious. Next course was lobster bisque and it was the best I have ever had. Last course was roasted vadouvan lobster over lentils and peas. It had a Indian curry flavor. Desert was key lime panna cotta with fresh made lime sorbet. My husband got the crab salad with pea tendrils and Thyme Roasted Lamb with Potato Gnocchi, Mushrooms and Chervil. Everything was excellent. The sommelier chose a wine that went perfectly with everything.
This was our second visit and it did not disappoint. The quality of everything cannot be surpassed.
We enjoyed the several course lobster menu and it was exceptional. Adding the premier wine pairings made the meal even more special.
