Naschmarkt Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
When somebody tells you an Austrian/German restaurant is the best restaurant in the region you kind of roll your eyes, because how good can that type of cuisine be? But it absolutely is! I’m German on my mother’s side, and was born in Berlin, so I’ve had my fair share of food from that part of the world, including in Germany, and this place was hands down the best! I’m even including it in my top 5 all time, and we’ve eaten all over the world!
We came to celebrate my father's life through good food. The food and service were absolutely top notch - probably the best service I've had at any restaurant apart from Chez TJs. When making the on-line reservation, I asked if they served the Socher Torte. Upon arrival, the maitre d' told us that the head chef had seen the question and baked the torte specifically for us that evening. We left feeling like the entire dining experience had been perfect in all ways.
This place is fantastic! I caught the review on Check Please Bay Area quite a while back and have been wanting to come here. My brother and his family visited the restaurant in July and said that it didn't disappoint. We decided to take my in-laws out for an after Christmas celebration and with my MIL having come from Denmark as a teen to this country, I knew she would appreciate, somewhat of a similarity, to the food of her youth.
Always outstanding...best Schnitzel but all entrees are excellent. So glad they've added beet borscht to the menu...it's silky smooth, delicious and bowl-licking fantastic!! Service is superb.
When you see many regulars/locals happily dining there, you know it's a special find. We're always glad to make the 30 mile drive to dine here; would even go twice that far.
In the past, I’ve always given this restaurant all 5 stars on everything. Not this time, though. I had the Cornish hen, which was very nice, as was the celery purée. However, the brussel’s sprouts that accompanied the dish were uninspired and underdone. They were cut in half and steamed or boiled, and were a bit tough. Too bad, as it is pretty easy to roast them—either in quarters or slivered—which adds a wonderful nutty flavor. This would have gone better with the hen, I think.
Was happy to share this restaurant with good friends who appreciate good beer, craft cocktails and excellent food. They were still talking about the food the next day. We had a good mix of soups, specials and entrees that they were able to get a feel for why we like the restaurant. The Jager Schnitzel and spatzle has my heart but the Hungarian Beef Goulash is a close second.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. Over the years, this is our "go-to" restaurant, whether we are having a date night, hosting family or friends. The atmosphere is throughly designed with comfortable seating, beautiful lighting and the attention to detail is top notch. The service is exceptional, with absolute attention to creating a wonderful experience to the diner. The food is exceptional. I have eaten at Naschmarkt probably 30+ times and never have I had a bad meal or experience, that says a lot. The food preparation is fresh, innovation and consistently delicious. We highly recommend Naschmarkt.
My husband and I have been talking about checking out Naschmarkt for awhile now. We finally did and loved every bite of our meal. We were disappointed by the service though. Our server, John, was absent for most of the night, which made it tricky to inform him of a missing side we had ordered. Once we finally got his attention we had finished more than half of our entree already. We told him that we were missing our side Brussel sprouts (which I was so looking forward to), he just simply stated, “Oh I never put that down on your ordered,” and walked away. He didn’t ask if we would still like it or if we were hungry for something else, and there was definitely no apology. This as well as his inability to describe specifics of various entrees on the menu when we were deciding what to order, showed a clear discrepancy between the quality of the food and the service provided. We left feeling full but disappointed overall.
Great Austrian food, interesting and varied selections, and good service. Great cocktails. Celebrating a birthday brought us a complimentary gelato presentation. The other desserts topped the rest of the meal! Tables are a bit tight and the noise level somewhat bothersome. Would love to try them for lunch or brunch.
My wife's favorite, the Hungarian Goulash, was great but misnamed by the Austrian chef for the convenience of his American guests. The Goulash that was served was actually Hungarian Paprikash (1" square cut beef or pork in a paprika sauce over tender butter sauced noodles). I did not find a preference on the red wine list so I ended up with a bottle of very good Bitburger Pils beer. The waiter was attentive and served complimentary ice cream for our wedding anniversary dinner.
My favorite place. Wonderful drinks and very good wines. Service always good an attentive
The food is impressive every time.
Some of my favorites are the scallops ,luscious. Spritzel with smoked chicken very flavorful . Rouladen , Jager schnitzel , goulash love them all. You have to try the apricot crepes for dessert
Have loved this very special establishment since meal #1 the first year they opened thanks to recommendation from bar mgr at Alexander’s. It’s consistently wonderful every time! Btw, I live in Miami and its always on my list when I come to headquarters here! How do you say “food-gasm” in Austrian? Naschtmarkt!!
Naschmarkt never falters. The quality, the service are top notch. Wiener schnitzel excellent as always and the swordfish was succulent and quite uniquely prepared with a citrus beurre blanc and macadamia nuts. Always a pleasure to walk in- genuinely friendly, cordial atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!
