Went for my boyfriend's birthday on a weeknight. Made a reservation as this is a desirable spot! Got seated almost right away. Staff was friendly and easy to talk to. Gave great recommendations on food and drinks. Had a great time and everything was high quality. Worth the price for the special occasion. They even gave us a free dessert with a candle when they heard it was his birthday.
Naschmarkt is ALWAYS fabulous -- superb food, authentic cuisine, wide choices, knowledgeable staff, great service, attention to details, interesting and appropriate wines, decent/fair prices...the accolades list goes on and on.
Very simply this is one of those "must try" restaurants -- not because it will be your/the ultimate blow-your-socks-off dining experience but rather because it is just outstanding. No doubt that's why it's so popular. And we drive 40 minutes just to dine there.
This is the kind of restaurant that you not only want to return to, you will be eager to do so...as soon as you can. Furthermore, you will wonder why more restaurants aren't capable of meeting all of the benchmarks set by Naschmarkt...they do everything perfectly.
Food and service were exceptional!
I have eaten here a handful of times over the past two years. The food has consistently been high quality and fresh. It always comes out hot and carefully plated. I often feel that the plate I receive is far more delicious and creative than how I imagine it will be from what I read on the menu. It is ALWAYS better than I expect (and I expect delicious based on experience!) Picky eaters should go here when feeling adventurous for a pleasant surprise. This is a place I love to bring guests from out of town. The menu is unique and you can't find food like this just anywhere. This is a place where you can have a nice yet unpretentious dinner in casual clothes.
Service is OK. Staff is good at leaving diners to enjoy themselves without interrupting much, water is refilled frequently, and they don't disappear in case you need something. However, I can't remember a single staff member that has ever stood out for particularly great service. Maybe I'm too busy enjoying the food, but they could change waitstaff daily and nobody would notice. The most recent time I went, I felt like our server had a bad attitude and was not very accommodating, even though the request made was extremely simple. He was unnecessarily defensive of the way that the dishes are constructed, but would reluctantly let me have it my way, the ignorant restaurant patron (who really didn't ask for much and didn't have any regrets either.) Whatever. If this guy made my first impression of this place, I would not return.
I would not prioritize a return visit, but definitely recommend the food.
food was perfect
This is one of the best, and very few best places in the San Francisco Bay Area, and especially in the South Bay. Amazing, creative, authentic, unique food by a master executive chef and his staff. Wine menu provides breadth and quality. Great service, most importantly, flexible and accommodating. The ambience is a big positive factor as well, you know you are at a one of a kind special restaurant.
I've found a new favorite. This small restaurant is located in the center of Down Town Campbell. The clientele varied from families celebrating birthdays to couples mulling over their craft cocktail choices. I loved that the server began his welcome by adding a question about food allergies or sensitivities. All of the employees were friendly and professional. Craft cocktails, wine, and beer were offered and quickly served. The Austrian style food was excellent. We enjoyed the Jäger Schnitzel and the Hungarian Beef Goulash. Both were served with Quark Spätzle and a vegetable. It was a delight to have something different from the normal bay area food trends. The cozy environment, community vibe, and excellent service made our dinner a delight. Make sure to get a reservation on Open Table. This place is popular.
Delicious garlic soup, sausages, and desserts.
Had heard great things about this restaurant on opentable and yelp. It more than lived up! Food and service was excellent—the vanilla soufflé was amazing for dessert.
Fantastic and authentic food. - The Bratwurst was actually pretty close to the real deal back in Germany and the Wiener Schnitzel was excellent as well.
I’ve missed good German food for a long while and was positively surprised by the Naschmarkt.
Consistently great food and service!
Constant good quality, great ambience, and very friendly host and waiter. What more to ask for?
This is a great fantastic staple in the souther Valley restaurant scene.
Food was good, ate at bar, bartender spent a good amount of time talking to the couple next to us, didn't pay us much attention, not very attentive.
Food was flavorful, attractive presentation with good portion size
Love this place and Shelby, our amazing server. The duck confit was so, so delish! We always like the goulash as well. This time we tried the garlic soup, at our servers suggestion, and it was heaven! The sausages are so distinct and prepared to perfection. Who can resist the hand-made pretzel with that sweet grain mustard? Amazing. Great place to celebrate a big success at work.
The food was delicious and authentic 🥂🍾a lovely time was had by all🎈😍
Quite a find. We had a sausage appetizer with three different sausages, sauerkraut, red cabbage and an excellent potato salad. Mains were also very good, especially the jager schnitzel, the goulash and the steak. My wife had halibut, which was a little bland. There was a mix-up concerning the steak because the waiter thought my son said "the same" = goulash instead of "steak" however the restaurant resolved this quickly without any fuss.
They also had kolsch (the local beer from Cologne).
Altogether a lighter and more tasty meal than can be found at some other regional German/Austrian restaurants,
Very impressed with the food quality of all the dishes. Service was outstanding. Great little place for dinner.
This was our second trip to Naschmarkt in the past month. As foodie, and someone who's been to some of the best restaurants in the Bay Area (e.g. Gary Danko) and New York (e.g. Per Se, Daniel) , I'm compelled to rave about how good the food is here. For both of our last visits we had the handmade cocktail, soup, 2 entrees and dessert - along with recommended wine. EVERYTHING we had was simply FANTASTIC. So much flavor in each dish (even the cocktail was memorable), so well prepared (e.g. we had sea bass and halibut that were perfectly done) and expertly balanced (sweet/salt, fat/acid). While you might come to this restaurant for the Austrian/German cuisine, and the schnitzel is incredible, literally all of their dishes (at least that I've experienced) are amazing.
The service is equally excellent. The recommendations are spot on and well-informed. We found that just going with what the server recommends is the best way to go.
This is my favorite Bay Area restaurant. You must try it.
Lovely intimate atmosphere. The food was tasty. The portions were perfect. I loved the apple strudel.
Very nice wine list; we loved the Kraut Rouladen and Beef Goulash. The nightly special was a sausage trio that was also terrific. The dessert special was dubbed Austrian S’More and was amazing; would order again in a heartbeat. This was our first visit and can’t wait to return.
Consistently great food- never disappoints. Try the Austrian-Germanic fare or a twist on CA. Always fresh and lovingly prepared. Small place so book early!
This is our favorite restaurant in Campbell. The cocktails are highly recommended ! I always order the Smokey in the Rye. Last night I ordered the Osso Bucco and my husband had the sausage trio which included wild boar, as our entrees. Both were excellently prepared. Service has always been top-notch!
Amazing as always! The only place in town to get authentic Austrian cuisine. Highly recommended.
Great food & service.
Love the variety of beverages, appetizers, salads, entrees & desserts.
We were able to find nearby street parking. It was fun sharing appetizers & desserts.
Thanks for the friendly service and great food.!,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,!!!!!
Our server was awesome! He recommended beers to my bf that he enjoyed a lot. The meal itself was delicious. Can’t wait to go back and try other items off the menu.
One of our favorite restaurants, excellent food, good service, and friendly staff. Waitstaff are always helpful and accommodating. The cocktails very good and I highly recommend the souffle for dessert.
Great food & service!
Great service, delicious food and great wine selection!
EXCELLENT Food! Our Server, Jason, was very knowledgeable, attentive and friendly....will definite go back!
It was our 4th time at Naschmarkt and we look forward to our next visit! Nice to be able to bring our own wine for a corkage fee or choose from your list of great options!
Excellent food with consistent service. Our waiter Alan (?) was top notch w excellent recommendations.
It is such a nice place! The food is delicious, the service is outstanding, staff is very polite and friendly. I highly recommend this place for a date, business dinner or if you just want to enjoy delicious Austrian cuisine!
A pure Viennese delight. What a special privilege to eat here!
Excellent service and entrees. Good wine choices. Specialty coffees and desserts were outstanding.
Food was delicious, the server was tuned in with recommendations and efficiently pleasant. This visit, The meal was a little rushed timing wise, would have been nice to linger a few minutes more in between courses. One of my favorite restaurants and always a pleasure to dine here. The special appetizer of pate en croute is a must try!
Food and drinks were delicious! Very innovative. A delightful evening.
Returned after an absence everything we remembered and more love this place and need to get back more often.
Ausgezeichnet! Austrian cooking at it's best. They play classical music and have many imported beers and wines to select from. We enjoyed a lovely meal and service.
