I was meeting friends from Canada for dinner on their first night in California and I had never eaten here before, so was just chancing that it would be a good experience! We were all very happy with our food! Bi had the chicken which was delish! I will go back again!
Excellent food and service. Highly recommend.
It was okay wasn’t wowed at all. Similar to diner food.
Awesome food and a great place to take my wife of 22 years!
I have been here four other times and enjoyed the food and service a lot. However this experience was pretty bad. Service was slow and disorganized. We had eggs Benedict on a crab and lobster cake. The cake was very thin, overcooked and no lobster taste at all. The eggs were totally over cooked and hard. We sent them all back and they did re poach the eggs satisfactorily. We ordered a $9 side of jalapeño cornbread which came as two small slices which were less than a quarter inch thick, no hint of jalapeño and literally burned on top. I can't believe they even served it!
Very enjoyable experience at Napa Valley Bistro. Brunch was delicious! Serve was spot on.
We found this restaurant on OpenTable. We went there for Mother’s Day brunch and I must say when we got there we were seated right away. The food was great and the services was great. I would recommend this restaurant and I think the price is right. I will for sure be back.
Excellent as always - menu selections, food presentation and taste, and service.
Everything was amazing!
Service was impeccable from beginning to end! The riesling was light, fruity scented with a crisp dry finish. The clam chowder was the best I've ever had, so creamy, full of clams with scallions and this beautiful oil that added such depth to the flavor! My husband's filet was tender and perfectly cooked, my halibut was very good but I loved the hash that came with it more!! The berry cobbler is a must try! We definitely enjoyed ourselves!!
This was our second time here. We had a variety of items ordered from halibut to salads. Everyone enjoyed their choices and we all felt the value was good for the food and size was just right. Service was a little slow and we kept hearing how busy they had been all day, guess word is catching on about this place!! We will be back.
The bistro is very well located in the downtown Napa area. Food was very good quality. The soup of the day was a mushroom soup and obviously was homemade the same day. Excellent. The entrees were reasonably priced in the $20.00 range and a good value for the cost. Wait staff were very conscientious and diligent in their behaviors. enjoyed the casual atmosphere. Stayed about 2 hours over a long lunch and was not hassled in the least as to how long we stayed. Very nice!
Staff was friendly, gave us time to relax and make food choices. Food was good. I had the grilled veggie sandwich and my husband had the lamb burger. Both were prepared to order and delicious. Plan to return.
The spring rolls were awesome! The crab tacos were great, the orecchiette pasta dish was just ok -too much oil and the asparagus was overcooked but tasted fine. Service was good. We've been before and will be back again!
My daughter and I were in Napa for a 'girls getaway and spa day', so decided to have lunch here. The waitress was helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. Had Crab Tacos at her recommendation, and we were pleasantly surprised. My entrée was Scallops on a bed of corn risotto... delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant.
We enjoyed our whole experience at Napa Valley Bistro. We could not believe how quickly our food came and felt the restaurants food, service and noise level rated high marks with the six of us.
Service was unapologetically bad. It’s usually great. It essentially ruined our meal.
Sexiversary. It was pleasant but too much sauce on the special. Too creamy and overwhelmed the dish.
cheerful staff, good food, street parking fairly easy (Tuesday evening in April). Some of the tabes are quite close together, but they will try to accommodate if that's not your style. Everything we ordered was very good, the sea bass cakes were especially good. Not very loud, so easy to hear dinner conversation. This restaurant if on the short list for our next visit, usually every 12-18 months.
Bistro is my go-to when I want fabulous food and excellent service.
Great waitress. Don't drink the "gin". Food okay. Very loud. Go there on a weeknight.
Always a great meal ~. We tell everyone!
This restaurant has the potential to be great but the staff was overwhelmed with a full restaurant and comes up short. It felt understaffed and clumsy. The menu has some interesting options as well as standard favorites. We ordered the shrimp appetizer which was spicy and flavorful but the shrimp was over cooked. I opted for the special, a short rib which was very tender but also under seasoned, and could have used more au jus, my dating companion ordered the fried chicken which he described as under seasoned and overly breaded. Overall the restaurant left us underwhelmed.
Easter brunch with the family!
We love visiting Napa Valley Bistro when we are in Napa - it has been our favorite place. However, this time, the experience was not up to their usual standards.
The waitress must have been new, and was not as attentive as normal. In fact, one of the waitresses who has served us in the past, seemed to recognize this and checked on us twice. In fact, she's the one who took my credit card for me.
I understand turnover in the restaurant business, and you'd think on a Saturday night, they'd want to move people "out" quickly. We had been waiting around 10 minutes to pay and leave.
The food was very delicious, as usual, except for two things: 1) The bread before dinner was not fresh, like it normally is. 2) My meal, the Flat Iron steak, was very small.
However, we love the place, so we'll be back again next time, and hopefully have a better experience.
In the middle of the town of Napa but just off the beaten path. Amazing food, varied local and regional wine list, friendly service, and a go-back kind of place.
Great food! Loved the veggie spring rolls, and the orchiette pasta was bursting with flavor.
Overall really good experience. Everyone's food was great, service was great, ambiance was great. I was complimented by my co workers for the choice of restaurant.
The staff here were amazing. We had a genuinely nice server, and bartender/hostess. The meal was pretty good, though my filet had too much sauce with it. Good asparagus. Had an excellent glass of cabernet franc.
We had a delicious dinner at the Napa Valley Bistro. The vegetable beef soup was excellent as well as the fish and chips and mac and cheese. They have a nice selection of comfort food for a rainy evening.
Service was ok. Didn't get any bread with our meal, missed that. Two or the gals ordered breakfast entrees and no toast or English muffins were included. The service was brisk and very impersonal. Got a dessert but no plate under the ice cream dish to rest a spoon.
Had dinner for 4 planned. Overall food was good. One beef dish was overdone. Service was a bit spotty but I think they may have been understaffed that eve. Would return.
Excellent food and service. I will be back.
This is one of those restaurants that is always good and always reliable. The menu is interesting, and has something for everyone. There are some relatively simple items on the menu, and also some that are more "interesting". Over the years I have eaten here on numerous occasions, and have never had a bad meal. Quite the contrary, everything that I have eaten here, and people at my table have eaten, has been good. Service is attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The restaurant is especially good for conversation or, in my case, a senior relative who doesn't hear well in noisy locales. Very good, reliable food in a pleasant setting.
One of our regular go tos... Good food, great staff, no corkage for locals. Sunday brunch is fabulous
Great value. No corkage fee on first bottle of wine!
We loved the staff here! They were all so helpful and accommodating. The spring rolls were delicious, as was the reuben sandwich and the fish cake. We will definitely return.
The food selections were very good, as was the quality of the dishes we ordered. They only have a beer and wine license, but do make cocktails with a Japanese liquor and they were pretty good! The service was a bit slow, but possibly a second time might find the service to be better.
The menu is very creative, and the wine list is nice. But my airline chicken, albeit tasty, was dry and there wasn't much of it! The apple crumble dessert was disappointing due to small portions for quite a price.
Came for lunch and was quite pleased. Soup of the day was excellent, salads are popular here and HUGE. Nicely executed, too, but be prepared to share or take leftover salad away! Lamb burger was delicious; bun held together and housemade chips were sensational. Only flaw was fried chicken: one piece was larger/thicker than the other and was undercooked. Other piece was fine, good batter crispness. Sides to chicken were executed perfectly. Service was very good. Vibe is friendly, casual, but decor is more upscale than Fume Bistro: here it's white tableclothes, less crowding, even tho prices are similar.
