Napa Valley Bistro
AND AFFORDABLE! Our food is elevated bistro-style American cuisine, and our wine list compliments our menu by focusing on Napa Valley vintners.
Casual but upscale bistro with very friendly servers. Brunch menu was varied snd meals were served promptly. The French Toast was delicious.
Service was very slow it seemed that the restaurant was under staffed. The waitress was also the bartender.
We eat here regularly and were pleased to celebrate Mother's Day here. We love the chef's creativity and overall it's a fantastic experience. My husband ordered the filet it was very sinewy, usually we get a better cut. I had the risotto and it was well done. The staff are very friendly!! We will be back.
Everything was good expect forgetting to write happy anniversary on our desert plate that was requested.
Maria, new waitress was very sweet, efficient and went overboard to meet every need. Fish and Chips are the best in town.
I really want to love this place. The menu is great, the food was great, and I liked our servers. Until.... we were still sitting and enjoying our dessert and they decided to start clearing our wine and water glasses, and kept trying to usher us out of our table. I totally get wanting to turn a table, but it really left us with a sour feeling, especially given that there was no one waiting in the lobby. I would like to give it a try again, but I'd probably not go on a Saturday night, as the noise level was SUPER loud, and I hope next time we're allowed to finish our meal without being rushed.
Good is good. Server was great! Cocktails were bad. The server was super nice about it and very accommodating. The bartender tried to be nice but it was very easy to see that she was not happy. Hindered the experience a bit.
A very yummy dinner. The filet was great!
We loved our meal here. I was with a group of 6. The service was very good, the food was great and the atmosphere was chic but casual. All in all we left feeling quite satisfied.
The maitre d was terrific
What a gentleman
Would not return. Upon arrival at 5:45 the staff started vacuuming. Only 2 other tables occupied Nice that there was no corkage fee on first bottle. Beet salad was probably best part of the dinner. Friend and I split the special/surf and turf. Filet and shrimp. Never asked us how we wanted steak cooked. We had to call the waiter back. Steak arrived as two tiny pieces on a skewer on each plate and 2 tiny shrimp on a skewer. Really ? Never seen surf and turf served on a skewer. Non descript potatoes. No bread offered.
Vegetable that I can’t remember. Worse part - no acknowledgment of the 50th anniversary! Atmosphere very cold! Very disappointed.
Two birthdays! Great dependable , one of this local’s favorites!
We had a lovely time. The food was very good. The best dish was the St Pats day corn beef dish. Very tender, not fatty and very tasty.
The staff very attentive and friendly. Food good, tasty, and fresh. Would go again
We have dined here many times before and come back for the varied menu, great service and well prepared food! First bottle of wine has comp corkage which adds to the value. It can get loud in the dining room when its full, making conversation a little difficult.
In a town where overly-wrought, Instagram-ready yet bizarrely flavorless food rules and service means the staff will deign to bring us our dishes if it's convenient for them, Napa Valley Bistro is a white-tablecloth yet unfussy bastion of consistently wonderful food and possibly even better service.
We began with the calamari, which was perfectly, lightly crisp, accompanied by an aioli possessing the perfect amount of lemon and spice. Friends had the cioppino and filet mignon, I had the skirt steak which was cooked to perfection and served with grace and charm by Zeva.
I'm a fourth-generation Napan, and I've seen our restaurant scene through its ups and downs, multiple closings, precious trendy spots with small shelf lives and slop-the-hogs chains I'd like to banish to Vacaville. Napa Valley Bistro is unique in its steadfast commitment to straightforward delicious food and will last the test of time.
In an area of very good and pricey restaurants, the NAPA Valley Bistro stands out as a very good reasonably priced establishment. This visit was second visit and I was not disappointed. They offer a variety of tempting dishes with something to please everyone. This is not a phuphu place, just good quality food prepared well. I would definitely suggest this place for an everyday meal with very pleasant staff.
Nice atmosphere, cozy, although we found it was moderately noisy. Service was excellent as was the food.
Delicious breakfast food! Nice and quiet during the first hour on a rainy winter Sunday afternoon. Service was decent and we received our food fairly quickly. We ordered the Brioche French toast, cornbread, Mac and cheese and bellinis. Make sure you mix your Bellini to get the full flavor of the sherbet.
Loud, noisy. I had to ask our server three times for bread and butter before someone brought it out to us.
Always a favorite place to return to. The food is so well prepared and presented. Friendly atmosphere, don't need to dress up, just enjoy.
Food was fantastic, great wine selection and the wait staff was excellent.
A most reliable local place. Nice mix of Napans and visitors.
The entree was good; my wife had the beet salad, and I had the fish however, I thought the dessert could've been better. I had the berry cobbler and it was not very good; very small table spoon size of ice cream that was certainly not proportionate to the cobbler, and the cobbler was terrible. The fruit didn't taste fresh, and the crust was over-cooked. I should've sent it back.
We had lunch here quiet and nice enjoyed the food
Food was excellent, but service was very slow, surprisingly so for a Sunday evening.
Awesome! Nice menu, great downtown location.
We made a 5:15 reservation. First off our service was very friendly but unfortunately not worth the price or time spent. I found the main dish accompaniments were clashing, which made it difficult to order. We sat down at approximately 5:20, our drink order was taken 20 minutes later, when we inquired about our drinks, the server said the bar was busy. They came after 6 o’clock when our food order was taken (1 course only). The food came at 6:35 (we were clock watching because we had plans after dinner). The food was cooked well, yet mediocre. There was several tables that sat after us and ate before us. We had to pack up and leave immediately after eating. I really wanted to like this place but we will not be back.
Fabulous as always!
Food, service, value, ambiance all was perfect. Love Napa Valley Bistro!
We had a tapas-style dinner, sharing 2 appetizers and an entree (ahi tuna, calamari, seared sea scallops) which was perfect. We brought our own bottle of wine from our tasting earlier that day. Really appreciate the no corkage fee! Excellent service, delicious creative recipes.
We had multiple issues at Napa Valley Bistro. Our waiter Shawn did his best to counteract the issues and was terrific about it. After making a reservation 2 weeks prior we were given the worst table in the restaurant. Our food order came out incorrectly. My husbands main course salad came without the added protein and was served with my first course soup. The soup was served in a chipped bowl and was lukewarm. After all that our bill was incorrect! There are far too many great places to eat than to waist your time here!
Out of 2 meals in a row that I tried to order, second one suggested by the waitress. Very noisy atmosphere.
Loved this place. So good and so fun!
Brunch on the last day of our trip. The food was amazing. I had French toast and my wife had the crab skillet. Both were top notch.
The food was greAt, they were very helpful to accommodate out family celebration
A favorite of locals, NV Bistro never disappoints re a creative menu, fun specials, and excellent service!
Wonderful lunch lamb burger, Wagu French dip and salmon all well done with an excellent staff.
Food was perfect and the atmoshere was really nice!
Our Valentines dinner was a mix of good and not good. We were seated promptly and brought water. Our order was taken a bit slower than usual but not too bad considering how busy it was. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the cup of lobster bisque and I my caesar salad. There was a very long delay between the salads and dinner. The salad and soup dishes were removed and about ten minutes later our waitress told us she would have our main course “fired”. It was a good half an hour of dead time waiting for our dinner. My husbands main dish was quite small and cold while my risotto with scallops was warm. When we were done, the waitress took our plates and told us she would return with our bill. We waited for what felt like another half an hour for the bill. By then the seat was feeling hard and my bottom was feeling bruised. We started at 7:45 and left the restaurant after 9pm. My husband said he was hungry as we were leaving. Normally our experience at NVB is much better. I think it had a lot to do with our server. There is nothing worse than feeling like you’re held hostage waiting for the bill, especially after being told that you’ll receive it right away.
