Napa Valley Bistro Ratings and Reviews
I took my mother there for lunch because she was craving Scallops.
She loved their seared Scallops!!!
She also loved the Calamari, and the Fish & Chips, substituting sweet potato fries instead of the regular "chips"
I had the Prime Rib Wrap. It was huge!!! and very tasty, served with house made, kettle potato chips. Next time, no bell pepper for me (personal preference)
The butterscotch pudding was okay.
The iced tea was fresh brewed, not the instant stuff out of a soda machine.
The food was very good, and we look forward to returning and trying all of the other menu items.
The best part of all, was the server.
I wish I could remember her name.
It was so refreshing to have a server that anticipated your every need.
It's been years since we've received such wonderful service.
She was very knowledgeable of the menu and how everything was prepared.
I don't think we were able to stump her with any of our questions.
Kudos to the Chef and kitchen staff, and to the Front of House Manager for having such a superb serving staff.
We truly enjoyed our lunch, even with the temporary construction projects happening just outside the door. It's going to look nice when they finish.
Napa Valley Bistro is one of our favorite local restaurants. The food is perfectly fresh and preparations are delicious. The service is so personable we feel perfectly comfortable there. We brought two bottles of older wine, and when one turned out to be bad, John L. re-bottled it and opened the other without missing a beat. No corkage fee on the first bottle.
They evidently didn't check us in so I had to send an email correction to Open Table that I showed up.
Their brunch is only on Sundays - would be nice if it was the whole weekend.
The salad/ahi was very good, but the bread of our Reuben sandwich was obviously burned so it shouldn't have been served to us.
The sandwich was tasty except for the bread, but the meat was more like bacon and I prefer thin slices of corned beef that are easier to eat and more tender.
The wait staff was efficient but not very friendly.
This was our 2nd time dining here and as always, we enjoyed it. It's location is off the beaten path from the main street and not a lot of foot traffic in the area at night. The staff has always been welcoming and friendly.
Hubby had the filet mignon which was nice and tender, very tasty. I tried the scallops which was cooked perfectly and very tender. It's another place we like to return to dine at when we're visiting Napa which isn't too often.
Went here for new Years eve dinner and it did not disappoint. The food was amazing (I got ribeye and truffle fries and my boyfriend got the short ribs) and the service was pretty amazing. We did have to ask for more water, as for some reason our table kept getting passed over. We also never got any bread and saw that all the tables around us did. The bathrooms were also not very clean and did not smell very pleasant. Other than those minor details, we had a great experience and tremendous food, the no corkage fee was also quite nice. I hope to get here for brunch/lunch sometime.
Came here for lunch last week and the service and food was great. Came tonight for dinner and it seemed they were short staffed as our table suffered with slow service and cold food. Neither the Manager nor our server came by to check on me once they replaced the cold part of my dish.
Always enjoy NVB at the end of our wine country day, as the food is always great, the service is always great and the noise level is just right. I love how inventive their wine list is; their wines by the glass are terrific and they always have new wines to try (and love). The staff is terrific and the timing of their service is great. Parking is easy because it's not quite in the craziness of the other shops and restaurants "downtown".
PS The Wine Tasting shop across the street is also terrific.
This was a great find! We were visiting from out of town and when I was researching some restaurants for my anniversary dinner I found their menu on line and was excited to go try it. Then a local person working at Viansa, said that she and her father love this place. We went and were not disappointed. Great tasting food, creative presentation and warm atmosphere. The staff was attentive and the owner or manager was engaging with the patrons making sure they were well taken care of as I am sure you will be as well. We had to evacuate the next night due to the fire but will make sure we come back soon to help support this little restaurant and it's community.
We were very disappointed with our dining experience at the Bistro. Though we were seated right away at our reservation time, our table for six was a folding table hidden by a tablecloth but with very awkwardly placed table legs. Both the white and red sangria drink specials were watery and weak. Those in our group who ordered steak were disappointed in the quality. My husband ordered a seasonal chicken and dumpling entree but was served a different chicken dish and when he questioned it had a waiter who argued with him about what it was. The restaurant was very loud and made conversation at our table challenging. We declined dessert because we were so ready to leave.
