A surprise birthday luncheon was very delayed with folks arriving later than expected. The food was consistently good, prepared and served quickly. We loved the berry cobbler- excellent with lattes.
Great service in a very crowded afternoon. Recommend for casual dining
Booked on Open Table 2 weeks in advance for Sunday Brunch to celebrate my son's birthday. When I arrived the host informed me that his system didn't show a reservation for me under open table. I showed him the reservation on my iPhone Open Table App and he says " I don't care what your phone shows. It's not in my system and that's what I go by. " That was truly the eptiome of rudeness and poor customer service. The line was out the door so we went to Napkins down the street and had a great time.
I have used Open Table regularly for years and this was the first time I have ever had a problem with a reservation made through the app. I even got a request to confirm text the day before, which I did.
What a TERRIBLE experience! I arrived at 10:55 AM for my 11 AM reservation for 1. There was a long line to check in. Once I got to the front, the host asked for my reservation name. I told him and he said he didn’t see it. I showed him my confirmation on Opentable and he said that he still didn’t see it, so he wrote my name down and said I would need to wait. I stepped to the side and he quickly came back, beckoning me saying come on. I was seated at a nice table outside by flowers. I said thank you for seating me and he walked away without a response. I then sat for 5 minutes waiting to be greeted. Then another 5. Then another 5. I watched the server go around to other tables and greet and take orders, but still I waited. When the 20 minute mark hit I grabbed my belongings to leave and the server came up and said “what did you decide on?” No hello, no sorry for the wait. So I told her that I didn’t need anything and I would be leaving. I told the same host that sat me that I would be leaving and he said okay bye. I expressed my grievances to the cashier at the shop area. I explained what happened and she was apologetic. The only person that showed any empathy during my entire experience. Needless to say I will not be returning, nor would I recommend.
We’ve frequented this place many times. Sadly the service wasn’t great on this visit and prices have been hiked up.
We made a reservation and were about 5 minutes early. The hostess proceeded to be very annoyed that we where there. She then told us we needed to wait at least 15 minutes before she would be able to seat us. The restaurant had over a dozen empty tables.
We come back in 15 min and she’s still very annoyed not only to us but everyone that approached her.
She grumpily showed us to our table and nothing more than that. I watched her sit another party down and as they were seated she moved their whole table around for what ever reason. The party seemed a bit taken back by this moved all their chairs so they could sit.
The hostess didn’t smile once, treated people as if they where a bother to her morning.
Good thing our waitress was kind and the food was good because watching her and being treated like that ruined my beginning of my birthday.
Went for brunch but they would only serve breakfast till. The brunch menu included a few other than breakfast choices. I asked for the Chinese chicken salad. It was just before 11 am. Would not serve salad till noon. Choice eggs Benedict, less than average in taste and quality. Won’t be back.
The food is always good and the service prompt and friendly.
They are dog friendly too and this is my pug Hermes favorite brunch place.
General Store never disappoints. We took my grandma out for Sunday brunch and had a lovely time. The weather was perfect, the patio was quite nice, our server was fun and personable and the food was awesome. My fiance' has already decided what he's ordering for our next visit!
Sunday breakfast. Good food. Wife said that Mimosa was especially good. Server was attentive. Very busy in restaurant and took a little longer for food to come out than I expected. Recommend reservations on weekends.
Excellent food and service and was exceptionally quiet for being crowded. We went for breakfast and could not have had a better meal. The store also has a great selection of unique clothes and gifts.
Great place for lunch. We sat outside. Food is always good. Had our usual- rice noodles with veggies and chicken. And Napa General store has easy parking.
The place was super cute. Food was good.
Fantastic atmosphere, great food and excellent service even though they were quite busy. Highly recommend it!
After waiting over 30 minutes for our breakfast (Paleo Scramble), it arrived cold and tasteless. Our waitress was nowhere to be seen during our 30+ minute wait...we flagged down a busboy for refills on our coffee. When food did arrive and was found to be cold, we pointed this out to waitress and she became very defensive...so rather than argue (and because we were starving!), we ate cold, tasteless food. Very disappointed overall.
We had a reservation but still waited for 15 minutes to be seated. Then, we waited over an hour for our food (which was mediocre at best). We have a 6-month-old which made it even tricker. I am not sure what all the positive reviews are from. Maybe its a tourist-y spot. Beats me.
Food was very good. Service was poor. Waiter took our order and we never saw him again.
Stopped in for lunch and had the chicken and waffles and the chopped chicken salad. Service was attentive and the food was good. Nice place to have a meal and great for kids.
We decided to visit Napa for a quick get-away and to support the local area after the devastating fires. The Napa General Store is our favorite place for breakfast. I had the Vintner’s Breakfast (French Toast) and my wife had the Field Hands Breakfast (Cornmeal Pancakes). The food was amazing as usual and the perfect way to start off a day of wine tasting and shopping. The gift shop is really great and has so many unique items. If you haven’t visited this place give it a try, and if the weather is nice ask to sit outside on the patio.
Wonderful brunch. Busy, but prompt and courteous service. Food was wonderful. Will definitely go again and try for outdoor seating in the warm weather.
If you are loo
I loved the scenery and the food was great!
Slow service. Very slow. Food was ok. We went for brunch and eggs and French toast were good but chicken and waffles wasn’t. This was the second time we’ve been there and it is ok but the slow kitchen service ruined it both times. Waiter was nice but either over worked or not attentive.
We were there for brunch- 4 adults and a four year old. The child’s food was the last to arrive and it was in stages. Try that with a four year old! The salad bowl that two of us got was almost inedible. Served with chopsticks, the pieces of vegetables and the chicken were two large to eat (4” or more), the bowl was so crammed that it was impossible to stir to get the overly sweet sauce that was on the bottom of the bowl distributed. The egg dishes were just okay - although the cook clearly did not know the difference between a well cooked and medium cooked egg. This was the second time we had brunch here and we are never going back. As a Napan, I worry that visitors may think this is typical of our restaurants. WHOEVER OWNS THE RESTAURANT - GET NEW COOKS ASAP. Your servers are great - your kitchen - not so much.
This place is great!! The food quality is fantastic, and there is a lot of energy in the building!! Brunch is the way to go, and outside patio if the weather permits!
The scramble tasted meh. Our server simply did not listen to what we were saying. My friend said the corn meal pancakes tasted ok. The fruit was not good either. Not fresh or seasonal. I can't recommend this place with so many outstanding restaurants nearby.
Our first time here for brunch with out of town guests was on a sunny winter day that was perfect on the deck. Service was prompt and friendly, food and drink was very fresh and tasty for all of our foursome. We will be back again to enjoy some more menu choices and the sunny deck by the river. Cheers!
All front of house employees seemed inexperienced and shouldn’t be at a restaurant that charges these kinds of prices. The ambience and location are nice, but there are plenty of other options in this price range that have higher standards for customer service. This isn’t based on a single visit.
Great place for great food. Store is fun to browse always find something I want.
We have eaten here several times in the past year. It gets better with each visit. They provide healthy and fresh meals at a reasonable price. The views are perfect, and the service is lovely. It is a great spot for casual dining.
Yummy , great food
Our lunch/ brunch was very nice. We were celebrating my sisters birthday. Our waitresse was so nice and treated us over and above. Enjoyed very much. I ordered eggs benidict it was very tasty.
Great breakfast. Wonderful atmosphere
Never disappointing. Good food. Excellent service.
We come here 4 to 5 Times a month. The service is always great and the food is alway good. Never had a bad meal
Poor service, weak food, priced high. No need to go back.
Lovely setting, great menu, fabulous food. We sat on the patio and the flowers were beautiful!
One of my favorite outdoor seating restaurants in Napa. The food is excellent as is the service. We had the Cobb Salad and the Caprese Salad. The table next to us was raving about the breakfast they ordered. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Great food. Beautiful setting. I recommend sitting outside!
The food was fine but not exciting. The menu was much smaller and simpler than I remember.
