About Napa General Store
When Jim & Jill Brandt decided to open the Napa General Store they wanted to create a casual space that reflected the history of the building that they had rescued along the banks of the Napa River.
It was important to them that the Napa General Store was authentic in every detail, and that includes making their cornmeal pancakes from scratch, squeezing oranges for juice and using local farm-raised eggs for breakfast.
Their hearts told them that if they put together the friendliest staff in Napa, and treated guests like they were home, that good things would follow.
After more than ten years of welcoming locals and visitors alike it seems their instincts were correct. Locals have their favorite tables and visitors return year after year for the quality, value and down-home charm.
The Napa General Store café continues a tradition of casual riverside dining in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere (Fido welcome on the back deck).

Napa General Store Ratings and Reviews
The scramble tasted meh. Our server simply did not listen to what we were saying. My friend said the corn meal pancakes tasted ok. The fruit was not good either. Not fresh or seasonal. I can't recommend this place with so many outstanding restaurants nearby.
Our first time here for brunch with out of town guests was on a sunny winter day that was perfect on the deck. Service was prompt and friendly, food and drink was very fresh and tasty for all of our foursome. We will be back again to enjoy some more menu choices and the sunny deck by the river. Cheers!
All front of house employees seemed inexperienced and shouldn’t be at a restaurant that charges these kinds of prices. The ambience and location are nice, but there are plenty of other options in this price range that have higher standards for customer service. This isn’t based on a single visit.
Shopping area small compared to pictures on line. Food was good, had the chicken.sandwich with side salad. Ordered ranch dressing on the side , was not told by waiter there would be a charge of $1.00 for a dallop of dressing. There were three in my party and each ordered ranch in the side, we paid $3.00 for salad dressing. Would have nice to have been informed. Had offer for free Mimosa with check in, more like free OJ. Spending more time in Napa, will try again but know to ask cost of extras .
Restaurant inside of a general store with lots of crafts and interesting items to browse and purchase. Had lunch and food was good as was service. Menu doesn't have a lot of items but something there for everyone's tastes. Ladies at entrance warm and engaging and offered a lot of good information. You'll need a special code to get into restrooms in the entrance hall.
Food is always good. Deserts special.. Service as well. We eat here often and will return soon. Good wine list. Cute little store area for the "tourist" in everyone. Great lunch spot. Next to "Sweetie Pies" a great bakery and one of Napas really good chocolate stores. On the River, with good outdoor dining in warmer months.
Had a good time & the Chopped Chicken Salad was fantastic-great taste/big portions but tables by the patio door need to be moved-constant in/out by the servers and the left door when heading out makes a loud popping noise/some oil or a new hinge might be appropriate!
General Store is normally our "go to" for breakfast. Our open table reservation made the week before when we were there for breakfast was not in the system. We were seated right away but then our food order was lost. We were served 1 hour after our reservation time. This was not a glowing introduction of one of our local favorites to our guests. Luckily it did allow us to sit and talk but after an hour of wait it was getting a bit thin. The server was very nice and the food was as usual very good.
