We had a unique visit to Napa last week it was the last night being open due to the virus. My Wife and I decided to go to a new place for us. We were not disappointed we order Mussels to start and they were delicious in a very tasty sauce. My wife had Sea Bass and I had Scallops both dishes were outstanding!! The owner came over and chatted with us after we had asked about a benefit dinner they have in November for Stacks Music center. We chatted awhile it was nice to see her passion for the project we purchased tickets and are looking forward to the event!!!
Very pleasant evening
Great hosts. We will return
Service from Chris was top notch. He was courteous, attentive and desiring to please.
Great food with minimal noise and service was perfect
Hadn't been there for years, now I am wondering why.
Always a great consistent restaurant. Highly recommend.
Wonderful evening with friends! There was a large group beside us but we enjoyed the convivial ambiance and our waiter and dinner was beyond amazing!!
We enjoyed our evening at Napa Cafe. We went with several friends and everyone was pleased that we could enjoy conversation with the entire table (rather than only being able to chat with your neighbor) since it wasn't loud in the restaurant. Everyone's food was tasty. Our waiter forgot a few things, but was very agreeable and friendly.
The food was phenomenal. We were a party of three, and we each had a different dish, the pork tenderloin, sea bass and chicken. Each were absolutely delicious. Oh and the buttermilk pie is the best! Our server was attentive and very knowledgeable. The only complaint would be the noise level. We had to yell to hear each other. We were seated in the front part of the restaurant, and it was just too crowded and loud.
Wonderful food - expertly prepared
We had an amazing night in the wine cellar. Our server Chris was so sweet and offered suggestions on the wine. We will definitely be back! Thanks for a wonderful date night!
The food was amazing!!
Excellent attention to detail. Made our birthday celebration something extra special.
Overall was an okay experience. Our main server could have been a trifle more friendly but was very efficient. would have liked bread to be served in half loaf, instead of two pieces at time. They were small pieces and thought this was curious. The food was very good.
We thoroughly enjoyed our THIRD visit in a month including Valentine’s Day. All experiences were exceptional. I don’t think there’s a more consistent restaurant around. The food and service are outstanding. Great looking bar and gorgeous dining room. Very friendly and welcoming staff too. It’s a must try if you haven’t been.
Great food&vibe! I think most people enjoy wine although no signature drink list is available they do make cocktails!
Nice place good food but a little loud on the night we were there...we will go back again
Everything was perfect
Exceptionally good dinner and service! The live music was an added bonus...what a talented musician! We shared the spinach salad and had the pork chop and shrimp and grits. So good! Will be back!
Food was good, however it took over 90 minutes to get our entree as other tables who arrived before or even after us were finished and ready to leave. The live music was excellent.
Wonderful! Will definitely be back! Food was outstanding, service was top notch, ambiance was fantastic.
Terrible experience! First time there with a couple of our friends. We had reservations for Valentine’s Day evening. We had looked at their menu all week and were super excited. We get there to find out they have a “special” menu for Valentine’s Day with only 4 options to choose from for dinner. When I made the reservations, we were not informed of the limited menu nor was there any information on their website about the limited menu for dinner. The food was below average...poor flavoring. Service was awful. Waitress had tremors and limited voice. Very overpriced with poor quality food.
Our first time there, and we would recommend the food and service. However I would caution with regard to value for price.
2 appetizers (1 was a salad), 2 Entrees and 2 desserts --$150.00 without tip, cocktails or beverages is a bit high for most budgets.
What an unexpected gem! The food was sublime. All sophistication with no pretense.
Always a great treat to have dinner here!!
We had the BEST experience Monday night at NAPA Cafe! The three of us sat at the candlelit bar and enjoyed a beautiful bouquet of roses, delicious cocktails prepared by Brian, and the creamy, inventive mussels appetizer. We kept track of
the NCAA basketball game which played quietly right above us. I had the simple skin-on
Chicken breast on risotto with green beans, and my two girlfriends ordered one of the hearty specials (can’t remember which one). Brian recommended a beautiful Shiraz that we split. Napa has such a quiet neighborhood feel where “everybody knows your name.” Although I have not eaten there on a regular basis, I plan to make it my new neighborhood place! I commented that it would be such fun to get some girls together for a watch party at the bar and am now just trying to think of another occasion to visit. Highly recommend—and I am quite picky!
We were a party of eight on a Saturday night. We were seated at a large table in the middle of the room that was a little small for everyone. Every time the front door was opened, we got a blast of cold air. Our service started out very rough, and only slightly improved as the night went on. It took 30 minutes to get our drink orders. When we told our waiter we were ready to order dinner, he told us he had to wait on his partner because they worked as a team and it was frowned upon for him to take all the orders. It was close to 45 minutes before they took our food order. We had to ask if they had bread service, because we saw it on other tables yet we didn’t have anything. The salads and appetizers arrived pretty quickly and they were all delicious. When the food arrived, three people had to send it back because the main course was inedible. By that time the owner/manager came over and offered to make us something else quickly. Thankfully when the replacement meal was brought, after the others were finished, it was wonderful. A couple of people ordered desserts, and the owner brought out several extras for the table to share. The desserts were all amazing. They were able to redeem themselves slightly on the rough service, but there were there many areas for improvement in the service at a restaurant of this caliber. The average entreé price is $30 and a cocktail is $16; I expect the service to be flawless. The noise level made it a little difficult to hear each other talk. Also of note, we were seated in the main dining room right by the bar.
Very nicely done for a birthday occasion 👏👏
Everything about our dining experience was awesome. It was the perfect evening. Great food and great service. Napa Cafe is a little bit upscale neighborhood restaurant where you are made to feel important. We can all use a little of that sometimes. Thanks you.
Took my wife there for the first time for her Birthday and was Incredible. We dine out a lot, and the Halibut was the best I have ever had. Fantastic Experience !!!!
Our children took us for our anniversary. They seated us in the wine room which was fabulous. It was like having a private dining room. As a result the noise level was very low. Our waiter was very attentive but not hovering. They printed our names on the paper menu. Every food item was wonderful and presented beautifully.
Fun dinner with friends at a favorite restaurant!
Each entree was well
Prepared and nicely pkated
Food and service was excellent. Noise level was less then desirable.
I am such a fan of Napa Cafe! It is so reliably good!! Great food, great service and some of the nicest people to deal with. Go! You won't regret it.
This place is consistently wonderful! Some of the best food in Memphis in a quiet but elegant atmosphere! Can’t go wrong on the entrees & you must try the buttermilk pie- it’s incredible!
Enjoyed the atmosphere and food. I would prefer more tables for private conversation. I felt like we sat to close to other couples with the seating arrangements
Its rare I leave a negative review, but my group's experience deserves it. The food was actually quite good. The issue was the service and noise level. My group of 6 arrived at 6:00 pm (ahead of our reservation). The bar was packed, and as we learned it was a happy hour meeting for another group. Appears to have been 40 or so people. None of this would have been an issue, but we were seated just off the bar area, not 20 feet from the lively (read LOUD) crowd. So loud our server had to shout at us and she was a quite voiced woman. It was so loud, our server had to get another server to come shout the dinner specials at us. We were assured several times the group was leaving. Except, they all decided to sit and have dinner in the bar. The noise never really diminished. Our server was great, but drinks were slow (i'm sure the bar was overwhelmed), and dinner service was slow. I realize things happen, however that's a managers job to plan. And you don't seat people near an obviously noisy crowd, there were other tables available, but we were not offered an opportunity to move.
