Naoki was simply outstanding in every way. Best sushi and maki I’ve ever had, gracious servers, quiet atmosphere. All made for a wonderful birthday evening. I’m eager to return on another special occasion and will recommend this restaurant to all of my fellow sushi lovers.
This was a truly great experience. Food was great, service was on point.
Great food but the pacing was terrible on this occasion and several plates of food showed up almost at the same time. Chef needs to better instruct his staff on attention to this detail.
Food was great. Charles (my server) was amazing and took time with each guest. Manager Bill also took interest in each guests’ satisfaction. I would definitely recommend you check this hidden gem out!
A hidden gem! This place has fresh, creative excellent sushi, with good service. It wasn’t the first time we have been here, and brought very good friends that enjoyed it so much, they are already planning on coming back too!
Everything was delicious and beautifully presented.
Amazing meal! The food here is exquisite and the service is to match. Our waiter, Charles, was extremely knowledgeable and we let him guide our meal. This restaurant is impeccably managed with which make it even more pleasurable. Amazing food quality. Not to be missed.
It is a hidden little treasure in the back on the lobby. My husband was more critical of it because the portion sizes are small but the presentation and taste were impeccable. I want to go back to try more on the menu. Chef Naoki cares about his sushi and even the rice is better than other sushi places. Don't go to "binge" on sushi, must be someone who cares about quality!
Fresh and imaginative sushi
Food and service exceptional! Highly recommend for those who are experienced sushi consumers. Quality of food and presentation are now at top of my Chicago sushi recommendations for locals and visitors.
Absolutely love Naoki. We go here for every special occasion and it is easily the best sushi in the city.
Our waiter, Charles was the BEST! Everything was delicious and the service was fantastic. Can't wait to go back!
Our visit to Naoki was exceptional, and left my girlfriend and I very pleased with our choice to come here for the first time. First, the ambiance is very cozy, and was great for date night. There was one larger group in there, and they were a bit noisy, but I would guess this isn't typical. Regardless, we were not deterred. The service was fantastic. Our server was great, and I don't really have anything but praise for him. He definitely was a big part of making our experience great. Finally, the food was absolutely incredible. We had one of the sashimi plates, a few rolls, one of the chef's specials (sake...soemthing...it was salmon collar cooked on a robata (sp?) grill), tuna tacos, and the gyoza. It was all very good. We'll definitely be back.
Naoki is always amazing! By far, it is our favorite gem in Lincoln Park and our go to date night! Love the ambiance, love the sushi and love the serving staff!
Our waiter failed to put in all the food we ordered. After they gave us our food that he did put in for us, they gave us our check and seemed to want us to vacate our table. Good fish but the experience left a bad taste.
Came for dinner with my sister. Had a really perfect time. George, our server, couldn’t have been more on point. Nigiri is exceptional.
The fried chicken and nigiri were amazing and I would highly recommend. It is a bit pricey though.
the sushi is so delicious. they do such a good job. they were short a waiter but the manager chipped in and made it work. the staff is always friendly and the sushi chefs are amazing. enjoy sitting at the sushi bar and watching them work.
Nice cozy romantic restaurant.
Fantastic sushi, great service. A great spot for a special occasion dinner!
An absolute delight.
Our server Ryan was very attentive and knowledgeable, helping us to select excellent sake (“Bambi”) and food items. The edamame “guac” was wonderful!
One of the best quality sashimi in town. Coming to Naoki for celebration has become one of the family traditions!
Went for a birthday with my partner, felt very comfortable and planned on ordering multiple dishes. Was a great tasting as well as a place to take someone who loves sushi for a treat
You have to walk through a kitchen to get to the restaurant. Nothing special about the food, it was not great nor horrible. I did not find it a great value and would not recommend it. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate them a 5.
Conventional American style sushi place. Small and with limited menu. If you are looking for something authentic Japanese food, this place is not your choice.
It’s a hidden gem. Great sushi plus the best fried chicken!
It’s one of the best sushi restaurants in Chicago
As usually, exquisite, delicious dining experience. Chef Naoki’s creations are pure and freshest magic on plates. We love the ambiance and chill out/lounge music. Awesomeness all around. We will be back yet again.
Easily our favorite restaurant in the city. We come for all special occasions. Gets better every time!
This is our special occasion go to spot.
LOVE THIS PLACE
We have been coming here for the last few years.
A true diamond in the rough. Everything was very good. the server was helpful in our selections. The ambiance was great and entering through the kitchen was really unique. Will definitely go back.
Delish sushi lovely atmosphere great suggestions interesting drinks
Get the sashimi or nigiri. Fried rice is too oily and salty. Rolls are ok. Fantastic seaweed salad and the fish in it's simplest form was the best.
Great experience. We go to many Sushi restaurants - you know the ones where they lather the entire maki, and drown out the flavor with mayo and spreads? This place let's the fish and rice stand out (how it's supposed to be!), had the best Nigiri in Chicago here, service was great. Clean place + unpretentious, not trendy. Just good eating.
Best sushi I've had in years! Service was knowledgable and made some great recommendations.
Really good sushi. Favors and freshness were so smooth.
Service from the first time we walked into restaurant, being greeted by the host to meeting our server was fabulous
I had never thought I would be able to have Japan quality sushi in Chicago. Happy to find Naoki.
