Freshest sashimi I've had in Chicago! Excellent service. Creative and delicious cuisine. Our favorites were the Scallop under Naoki-style sashmi, and the hamachi collar, which was on special.
Food was truly excellent, and once we sat down, the meal was quite enjoyable. But we had an 8:15 reservation and finally sat down at 8:50. Nobody checked in on us or offered us even a drink while we waited. It was not the level of service I expect from a lettuce entertain you restaurant, and it really cast a sour note on the evening. The hostess mentioned there were five tables who had paid but not yet gotten up, but I’m hard pressed to believe that this was a rare occasion. While the actual meal was great and allowed us to relax, we were disappointed by such a frustrating start of the evening.
Naoki is one of the best, if not the best, sushi spots in the city. Absolutely fantastic!
Great Sushi, quality & cuts are amazing
Try the Sake flight for 29$ & the Japanese Whiskey flight was another great selection
The food was great overall, but since we came on a saturday night so it was quite busy and our server didn't pay a lot attention to us. Plus the dining room is not very spacious and lots of tables were packed so it was very noisy. My husband and I can hardly hear each other eventhough we sat face to face.
Naoki never dissapoints! We love everything about it. The sushi is the freshest in Chicago, amazing presentation and service. The atmosphere is equally as awesome and is intimate and cozy. We always look forward to our night at Naoki and can't wait to return.
By far the best sushi in the city! We were very impressed with the quality of every dish and the attentiveness and professionalism of our server. After our appetizer, we were already making plans to come back.
Loved the old school sushi
There doesn't seem to be a dessert menu, per se; but please don't skip the mochi. The ice cream disc is right-sized for one, available in multiple flavors (e.g., chocolate, hazelnut & green tea), and delightful.
The best, most fresh sushi in the city hands down!Always look forward to sitting at the sushi bar and watching Chef Naoki at work.
Best quality sushi and sashimi we have had in quite a while. It’s all about the fish.
Excellent food! Fresh fish!
Great restaurant experience and superb fish. Excited to return.
More than just "good food", I think what makes Naoki a neat spot is that both times I've been seated at the bar area, the chefs interact with you and give you recommendations. That is very cool! Every time I leave (been about 5 times now) I leave happy! Great place!
I've been at Naoki 3 times and this last time the service was extremely slow and inattentive. The place was half full and did not seem busy. Nevertheless, the wait for service was long and a couple times I had to ask if they had forgotten our orders.
Chose Naoki for a Valentine’s dinner with my girlfriend because we are both huge sushi fans. I can say that this is hands down the best sushi I’ve ever had. (Usually I eat in Chicago/Suburbs area)
The drinks were fantastic, and we even ordered a tasting of 4 incredible Sakes. The fish was fresh and we both left more than satisfied with our experience!
I would definitely go again!
Great restaurant ! Really greasy fish and incredible service!
Very good experience- excellent service and fresh tasting sushi!
Our second visit. Very average. Saba no better than bargain neighborhood Sushi restaurants. ridiculous charges for Uni and fresh wasabi. We sat at counter. Chef said they don't offer Omikase. Too busy. Yes. Mostly with 20 somethings enjoying their California rolls.
Funny. contrast this to Sushi San , another LEYE restaurant and it is night and day.
I gave this place two try's. No need to return
I absolutely love Naoki. It is by far my favorite Sushi destination. Everything is outstanding..... from the unique entrance, service, professionalism, selections and music. The sashimi is the freshest on the planet and literally melts in your mouth. I cant wait to return and relive my amazing experience. Cheers to a neighborhood gem that is beyond compare! Cherie
The food was perfect, it was my girlfriends first time trying sushi and I knew this place was perfect. She loved everything about it and for me the food brought back beautiful memories. Will definitely come back!
Great food, great service.
Authentic Japanese food with special flair added. Will be back for sure.
Restaurant week menu was excellent. Best fish tacos in Chicago!
Totally average and not worth the price.
The sushi was very fresh and authentic. I liked space, but it was a bit cramped. I also thought it was a bit casual given the price point.
One of the top sushi spot in Chicago, definitely my favorite. Super fresh, pristine quality nigiris and sashimi, and if you sit at the bar, watching chef Naoki and his team craft and plate your meal is a bonus visual experience.
It was Restaurant Week so unusually crowded and noisy.
One of Chicago’s (not-so) hidden secrets!
Naoki was our second stop for tonight’s Chicago Restaurant Week tour and it did not disappoint. We loved everything we ordered. It was a great dining experience from the moment we were escorted to our table until we finished with dessert. We will definitely come back to try all the other dishes.
PS. We also loved the 90s playlist! :)
Thank you so much to the sushi chefs at Naoki for a wonderful culinary experience. Sushi was absolutely superb—the best we’ve ever had. Thank you so much!
Magnificent dinner wonderful cocktails superb sake deliteful ambience what more might you want. Yes as a bit upscale but worth it for an excellent dinner
One of my favorite sushi restaurants in Chicago. Innovative, fresh, and delicious food. Would always recommend to others!
This was easily one of the best japanese and sushi meals my husband and I have had - and we eat that cuisine quite frequently. Hamachi collar was grilled (not fried, as I've had elsewhere) and I would go back just for that. We went for restaurant week and had the fixed courses and ordered additional off of the menu. Sushi rolls/nigiri/shashimi were all fresh and top quality ingredients. Presentation and sauces were unique and just a step above other restaurants. I would put this place on par with Katsu - it's that good!
Excellent food and very courteous staff. Expensive for us but will def return for special occasions.
Restaurant week menu left something to be desired - for the price - better off ordering from the regular menu
Edamame Guac was excellent 😋
Delicious food Beautiful presentation.
Can’t wait to go back
Naoki was just ok. Expensive for what was being served and the wine list was very overpriced. The atmosphere is great however. Just don’t know if it’s enough to make up for a lackluster menu.
Nice place. Judging by website I thought it was a upscale large restaurant. More quaint and small. Food was very good but I would consider a casual more everyday type restaurant. Not for special occasions
Ended up walking out. Very overpriced. Did not understand the few items they did have on the menu. Very unclear about what it was or what was in it. They charge $5 for soft drinks (iced tea). The waitress did not explain anything on the menu. Would never waste my time again!
Fantastic sushi. Some of the best sushi I have ever had!!! Service great too
