Such a cool spot! Definitely have the spicy shrimp & salmon roll and the Masu Or you’re missing out. Can’t wait to go back.
The food was excellent. Very creative Sushi preparations. The mochi was the best I ever had. I would certainly go again
We've eaten at Naoki quite a few times and this was the first time we were disappointed. Some of the hot appetizers were served cold (after a request to have them re-heated), they were out of Fried Chicken which was a problem as there isn't any other meal item for those who don't love sushi (kids). The chef did make an accommodation and prepped another chicken dish which we appreciated. The waiter seemed disengaged and almost inconvenienced by us. Service was slow.
Inventive dishes. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic server. Great pacing.
Consistently good service and wonderful food. What's not to like.
We enjoyed the omakase or chef's choice which is not on the menu but available with advance notice. Seated at the counter, we were treated to a wonderful selection of sushi and delicious dishes prepared by Chef Naoki. The service was efficient but not overbearing. A delightful special evening.
I can’t say enough good things about Naoki! We enjoyed every dish we ordered (maki, sashimi, gyoza, and especially the tuna tacos) and the service was great. We brought a few bottles of wine, but their selection looked great, and I’ll definitely be back!
It is my favorite sushi spot in Chicago. We took friends who claimed to love sushi and had never eaten at Noaki. They were blown away. The wait staff seems to be improved. Charles was excellent. The food is always perfect. Their unfiltered sake was delightful. It was a perfect evening
Not the old Naoki?
Don’t know what happened to this small jewel of a restaurant?
Ambience was completely changed, food was still ok but is a completely different experience.
The wine has been opened for a while and was terrible.
Too many other places to dine in the city.
As usual, Naoki celebrated with us not just helped us celebrate.
Awesome sushi experience!
Great food. A little pricey, but worth it. Great ambiance also.
For my first time ever going to Naoki, I was extremely impressed and all my expectations were exceeded. The vibe is super cool, the servers are all personable and attentive, and the food is delicious and of great quality. At the moment, I would say that Naoki is the probably the best sushi in Chicago! I would highly recommend the unagi roll, as well as the hamachi, spicy tuna roll, miso soup, and tuna tacos.
The whole team went above and beyond to accommodate our group and give us an exceptional celebration.
Great neighborhood gem! We tried various maki rolls and they were delicious! Would definitely return.
Always a great night out at this cozy, delicious spot! We can count on the service and the food to be on point.
Great service and amazing delicious food. Pricy, so will rarely be able to return. Temperature in the restaurant was chilly.
Another great meal at Naoki’s. I have been coming for 2 years and he is always on top of his game !
Unfortunately very disappointed in the service and some of the food quality and offering.
Our first dishes took a while to came out but the manager was on it and very attentive. He even brought us a complimentary starter while we waited. Will go again.
Finally I can eat true Japanese and less Americanized Japanese in Chicago. Each ingredients are taking cared traditional way. I can see owner trained each server and they serve food from Kokoro. We enjoyed each plate and it has Japanese portion. I wish atmosphere is less lounge feel also group-customer gets loud. But still we definitely go back and try other menu.
Naoki Sushi was amazing! Everything was so fresh, flavorful and with beautiful and simple presentation. The waitstaff were very well informed and helped guide us to some excellent choices.
Highly recommend Naoki Sushi!
We have dined at Naoki several times. This experience was probably the least memorable. That is in stark contrast with almost all our prior experiences. Not only was one of our favorites not available that day as per the menu, but even an item on the menu was also out. I can respect all of that, as Naoki has prided itself on serving the freshest and the best in all our prior experiences. But even what was served was sub-par compared to prior experience with the same items. Was it an off night?
To start, there was no one at the host stand. We waited for an unusually long time with folks behind us also waiting. Never happened before. At least not to us. But most disappointingly, the food was not as innovative as tasty as we have come to expect. There are a lot of new choices for high-end sushi/omakase restaurants in town now. I hope Naoki can keep up.
Finally, two days later, my LEYE points have still not shown up on my account. This is not the first time that Naoki has been callous about this. Overall, I hope things improve.
The service of Jarred was perfect, as was the attention we were given by Bill, the manager. The food was excellent, especially the fried chicken. Everyone made sure that I didn’t have anything with garlic since I am allergic to it.
Incredible experience. Second time here. Food and service have been spectacular both times.
My favorite spot for a date night- food & drink selection is hand crafted to perfection. Always an amazing experience & top notch service! Good playlist & perfect lighting.
Naoki is simply one of the best sushi restaurants in Chicago. Chef Naoki always treats his guests as if they were family and tries to take their dining experience to the next level.
Outstanding service from the staff made this a great experience. Starting with the host warmly welcoming us, seating us at a great table and attentive and courteous waiter. So often, you enter a restaurant and get the stare down from the host instead of a “welcome.” So many restaurants should come and learn how a host sets the tone for the entire evening. Excellent!
Excellent sushi -- creative, fresh , fine knifework. Service energetic but a bit slow and spotty on a mid-August Sunday evening; appeared understaffed. We will return soon.
Fantastic food and excellent service!
Some of the best sashimi and nigiri in the city. The ambiance is great and the service is fantastic. The combination of flavors in the specialty pieces is spectacular and I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried so far. Can’t wait to go there again soon.
Loved the freshness of everything we ate!
Amazing experience!! They were absolutely wonderful. Definitely going back. The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful.
Nothing short of Amazing. On our ride home My Wife and I quickly realized that there was know way to determine or favorite bite of the night. It was ALL THAT GOOD.
Overall it’s a good restaurant. We liked the sushi, but the salmon collar was cooked to death. It was a dry, chewy mess, filled with bones. A disappointment of a dish. Other than the collar, food was good and the grated wasabi was worth it.
Hidden inside a hotel lobby, walking into the restaurant made us feel like we were going into an exclusive spot. The entrance is a bit odd but once you get into the dining area the atmosphere is cozy, romantic and full of life at the same time. Everyone there wanted you to have the best experience from the greeter to the waiter to the chef and the manager. My girlfriend and I had a great time celebrating her birthday dinner. I would go back again once I get my paycheck.
this restaurant is not worth the money, i wouldn’t recommend it
Great ambiance and always quality! Highly recommend for a dinner date. Chefs selection is my go to.
