Nantuckets Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We went to dinner with my step-daughter and her husband. I had no problem getting a 7:15 reservation over Labor Day weekend. However when we got there, it was rather a long wait for our table --which was awkward since there really is no place to wait without being in the way of waiters. Our server was nice enough, but obviously busy since the place was packed. My husband had the duck, which he said was delicious. My step daughter had the rockfish special, which she said was very good. Her husband had the shrimp and scallops over pasta. He said it was good, but I noticed he left a lot on his plate. I ordered the soft crabs and was very disappointed. They were tough and very difficult to chew and swallow. . I think perhaps they were not cooked long enough. Usually we love the Nantucket, but my meal was not satisfactory.
Nantucket's has been my family's special place since it opened - always a wonderful vibe there with truly exceptional food and fantastic service. The owners and staff there go the extra mile, too, for any special occasions - they are golden!
The crab dip is the best around and the wine selection always pleases. Our favorite dishes (so far) are the herb encrusted filet (to die for!), the crab cakes and the bouillabaisse. Daily specials, whether appetizers or entrees, are always revelatory in delicious ways! Even the dinner rolls will make you swoon. :-)
My wife's favorite OC restaurant in OC, but a bit too small and close for me.
Most recent meal, celebrating our 59th anniversary, was pleasant with two exceptions. Salads were served prior to the hot appetizer ordered. Waitress insisted this was proper protocol, but not ours. Also my seafood pasta dish contained shell rather than string pasta, which is too thick for my preferred taste. We wondered if this were a substitute pasta. Waitress was pleasant and the 'cove' was cozy.
I've been going to OC for decades and never heard of this place, the food and service was awesome! My wife and I took our newborn along with several friends here, we were welcomed in the parking lot to help up park then once inside, the hostess' were great too, they found a convenient spot for all 4 of us plus the stroller. This will be a regular stop for us from now on, they just earned 5 lifelong customers.
Wanted to do an Open Table resturant at the beach to avoid long in season waits. Seated promptly and menu was interesting. But rack of lamb ordered medium-rare came out raw. Sent it back and watched my wife eat her soft shelled crabs. Lamb finally comes back but now it's medium.
To his credit waiter realized the gaffe and comped my glass of wine.
We have been coming to Nantuckets for a number of years. Whenever we are on vacation in Fenwick Island Nantuckets was a must. This year, things seemed to changed. First, my martini was served in a champagne glass - Really? Then the waitress got it wrong. There is not to much to remember when you ask for grey goose with a twist - no vermouth. Got olives - yuk. The food was not as good as last year. I had the rock fish - just alright. My son Had the pork - provolone to sharp for that beautiful piece of meat. Our party also ordered salmon, mac and cheese and soft shell crabs. Everything just alright. When we walked out of Nantuckets we all looked at each other and the consensus was that we would probably not return. Don't know what happened as we enjoyed it for years.
We loved the relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Service was great and the food was delicious. We loved the crab artichoke dip and baked Brie. The prime rib of pork was outstanding and the rack of lamb was very good. The banana foster bread pudding was a winner and a great way to end an awesome meal. We will definitely return next time we are in the area.
MOST SEASHORE TOWNS ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE A CONSISTENTLY FINE RESTAURANT THAT IS EVERYONE'S "GO TO" PLACE TO EAT ON VACATION. IN FENWICK ISLAND THAT WOULD BE NANTUCKETS. IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN HERE, TRY IT. LEAVE THE TRENDY WANNA-BE'S FOR SOME OTHER NIGHT. THIS PLACE IS A MUST DO.
I was a bit disappointed this time around with Nantucket's. I bring a friend there each year when I visit her at her beach house for a "thank you" dinner. We ordered the Crab and Artichoke dip as an appetizer. When it came, I took a few bites and our mouths were on fire. I asked the waiter if jalapenos were in the dip to make it so hot and he didn't think there was any. When he asked the chef, the chef had put two different hot sauces in the dip. Who does that to a crab and artichoke dip? And why wasn't the spiciness noted on the menu? It took a whole lot of bread and several visits of the waiter with water to calm my tongue down from the spice. It really took away from the whole meal and was quite disappointing. Our main courses of crab cakes and the shrimp and scallops over pasta were good, but hard to enjoy after the appetizer. Even more disappointing is the waiter did nothing to make it right. I am hoping this visit was a blip on the screen for them.
We had dinner at Nantuckets. We were seated quickly. Our waiter greeted us promptly and reviewed the specials and menu. Meal delivery timed well. We had appetizers and main course. I had rack of lamb and my husband had fish. Both dishes were presented well and very tasty and correct temperature. We did not feel rushed. This is one of our favorite restaurants at the beach.
