Beautiful setting, wonderful food with lovely presentation and excellent service. Chef Sumi is amazing!
Don't let the fact that this restaurant is at the Westin throw you off. Great ambiance and service.
I will review both breakfast and dinner...
Breakfast - awesome breakfast buffet with omelet station for only $25. Much better and less cost than the Makana Terrace imo at the St. Regis (if it's not a nice day with the view).
Dinner - completely different atmosphere at night with the dim lights. Food was fantastic and there is the awesome option for split plates so you can try two meals in one so you don't have to choose (I always have to decide between the fish or steak...I was able to get both!). Great idea!!! Service was great (Thanks, Kate!) and food was superb!
Atmosphere was good
Service was slow
Kid food was good
Adult food was cold
We had our first and last vacation meals at this restaurant at the Westin Villas. The first meal was Sunday brunch and it was phenomenal. The selections were amazing and I thought it was a good value. Our last dinner at the resort was also at this restaurant. The food was very good. Service was friendly. We ate outside and it is a very nice setting.
Food was adequate to say the least.
Always a great meal and views of the resort, on weekends they have live music that is pleasing to listen too and not loud.
The food was outstanding. We both had the prefix menu with the wine pairings.
Server chloe did not attend to our request for the dinner check and that pretty much caused a HUGE fight/argument which ruined our evening and subsequent remaining vacation
Wonderful brunch with a great view of the resort facility.
Good food, trrible cocktail onions. Very good staff!
Always great. A pleasure to dine there on the outside. Highly recommended
Value of food quality overpriced.
Had much better food at some other local restaurants.
Nice niches for intimate conversations.
The best part of this restaurant is the overall atmosphere; especially on a warm Hawaiian night. It is a very pleasant place to enjoy a dinner. The entree selection is small; but creative. I especially liked the option to have a sampler of two entrees with half portions of each. I would like to see more wines-by-the-glass options; the better wines are all bottles only.
My wife and I spent a pleasant evening at Nanea restaurant mid-week, arriving at 7:30 am after the main rush for dinner. The choices of food were excellent and we appreciated the high quality of the service both at table and from the kitchen. One minor niggle, though, was the price of the wine, which at US$13 a glass for some very indifferent vintages, seems expensive considering the same bottle can be had locally for 20-25% of the price.
The food was quite good, if not a bit expensive. The curtained off seating area was great, and if it had not been raining, we would have walked around the nice looking grounds afterwards.
We went to Nanea to celebrate my 30th birthday, travelling from Canada. This restaurant was not our first choice but due to last minute booking, this was the better option left in town. Being a frequent traveller and diner, the service here was mediocre. My partner mentioned it was my birthday however there was not even a little special treat at the end of the dinner from the chef or restaurant. The bill had an error and we were overcharged, we only found out about this when we saw the transaction and refund. Overall, the standard just was not up there to compliment such nice resort. The hosts from the front / entrance to restaurant were outstanding and made lovely conversation with us while we waited though.
Nice outdoor patio to eat and people watch.Service was attentive and food good
We went for New Years it was a 5 course meal . Every thing was very good and service was great
The service was horrible. We waited over an hour after we ordered for our meals to arrive. Unfortunately, they weren't even worth the wait.
Food was really just so-so; disappointing for a holiday dinner.
Our waitress Chloe was very nice and professional however and tried to make the best experience possible for us.
Always great food and service!
Food was great with a nice selection, but they need to update their advertising. The on-line page lists the opportunity of purchasing 3 glasses of champagne for $5.00, but we were changed $10.00 for three glasses. The buffet price was also under stated on line, an update would avoid any misunderstanding.
Wonderful menu, Awesome service (Kepa), Delicious & divine food flavors, & a totally relaxing evening celebrating a special occasion😀🤗😆
Nanea Restaurant at the Westin Princeville is always a great spot to go for dinner hen in Kauai. The food is great, service is great and the view overlooking the pool and the ocean at sunset is fantastic. They never disappoint us when we go for dinner.
Very good food. Go later when pool is not used by nosiy kids...
Birthday celebration for my wife with family. Was asked if we were celebrating a special occasion, told our server and not even an acknowledgement. Cocktails weren't offered before meal, had to ask and service was extremely slow for a dinning area that was not busy. Food was okay not exceptional especially for the price. Not a memorable birthday celebration for my wife.
We ended up at Nanea by accident for our anniversary, but were certainly glad we did. We had the wine pairing dinner and everything was excellent and the pairings were exceptional.
Had a delicious dinner there last night...started with the Poke’, very nice. I had the Hula chicken which I loved, and my husband had the short ribs. We totally enjoyed ourselves. Our waiter Matt was totally awesome! Thank you Matt!
Enjoyable but didn’t recognize our special occasion and the musicians that night wasn’t our liking. However a great menu and option for seats.
My wife and I had an excellent dinner at the Nanea Restaurant within the Westin Resort in Princeville on Kauai. The food was imaginative and very tasty, and the space quietly elegant.
Food was nice, but service was terribly slow. Wasn't offered a choice of inside vs. outside -- even though we had reservations, they tucked us in the far back next to a large group but there were lots of tables open. Had to wait for everything -- water service, drink order, food order, bread came after the appetizer, etc. Food was nice, with a good selection of choices, but wasn't particularly special or memorable. For the price, this shouldn't be a first choice in the Princeville area.
We live on Kauai for many years. Our weekend at the Westin was through a Fundraiser for Island school. Thastay at the resort was fabulous. We decided to have dinner at Nanea our first night. Everything was great, with the exception of our entree of fish being dramatically overcooked. We are not thevsort that complain. We're blessed to live where we do. Sorry for a less than perfect review, everthing else was. But, when you charge $38 for a piece of fish, it should be done correctly.
We went here for dinner for our anniversary on our last night at the Westin Princeville. We had the Tasting Journey 5 course dinner with wine pairings. Everything was fantastic- especially the service. We had a wonderful table with a front row seat of the beautiful pool and ocean as a backdrop. We will eat here again!
We sat outside with warm tropical breezes and terrific Hawaiian music and hula. We both had the 3 course price fixed Hawaiian menu. Grilled ahi for the main course was perfectly prepared. Everything was tasty and the drinks were excellent.
Had a chance to enjoy their prime rib on a Sunday night. Very nice cut and cooked to perfection. It was properly seasoned which help to enhance the taste. Service was outstanding, the waiter was David, he was attentive and professional. Topped the meal off with a pineapple cake that was tasty and hit the spot.
Nice venue with a distant ocean view. More seating would be useful., as would better advertising. We would not have known about Nanea, other than through OpenTable. A very pleasant meal, and decent wine list.
35th anniversary was great
I have to tell you. This restaurant was not only yelp or even the open table search pages. We were in Kauia and were always directed to the St Regis. We walked through the st Regis . Their ambiance did not fit us. Only bc of their Nanea Restaurant sign is when I started to investigate. What a great place . Their food was excellent. Server and the manager both stopped by and I told them how I felt the restaurant was not on any top search engine list . Their filet was the most tender that I have ever tasted.
