About Nando Milano Trattoria
With decades in the family restaurant business, Dario Vullo has brought his family's legacy to the United States to share the great traditions of food in Italy to Chicago with the help of his fiancé and co-owner, Amy Yetasook. Amy is a newly proclaimed Chicagoan and med student studying to become a surgeon.
Executive Chef/brother Alessio Vullo and restaurant namesake Nando (a dignified Italian dachshund) complete the restaurant family. Chef Alessio holds the Vullo family secrets, instructing the team every morning in making fresh pasta, breads, and desserts to the highest Italian standards.
We hope you will stop in and experience our cozy Italian world.

Nando Milano Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
Everything we ate was phenomenal. The pesto-filled arancini was to die for. My waygu beef was exceptional, as was my husband's gnocchi. Service was very, very attentive. Manager couldn't have been nicer and gave the two of us a nice window table. The place is cramped, so we were relieved not to sit at one of the tiny tables for two smashed in the center of the room. Cannot say enough great things about this place. (Only two knocks: $5 for a single Diet Coke? You gotta re-think that one. Also, wish there were more beer options than the Itailan-only offerings.) We will definitely be coming back and recommending this place.
Nando never disappoints! Whether choosing from the regular menu or the daily specials, the food is delicious, homemade and flavorful. The staff are welcoming and friendly and will guide you to the perfect meal. I will always come back, and am sorry I didn’t have time for one of their wonderful desserts on my last visit. Next time!
What a great restaurant! I found this last year on Open Table when we visited our son in Chicago for parents weekend and we couldn’t wait to go again when we visited last weekend! Luca is amazing and so attentive, and our server was lovely (sorry forgot her name).
The rice ball volcano appetizer and the classic tomato and mozzarella with arugula (Nando Caprese) were delicious! My veal dinner, my son’s wild boar pasta bolognese and my husband’s saltimbocca maiale were outstanding!
Can’t wait to visit again when we’re back in Chicago! Great neighborhood restaurant - worth traveling to even though we stayed downtown.
Went for a friend's birthday dinner on Sunday. The hostess and staff were very friendly and accommodating. My friend ordered the cod and polenta which was amazing. I had the linguine portofino which was exceptional. They had a great wine list. And we topped off the meal with a limoncello-yum! Hope to go back soon.
Excellent, authentic Italian food, lovely sidewalk patio. Everything that we ordered was fantastic. The only thing I wished had been different/better was bread service, but I really love bread. Best part was our waitress (I regret I can't remember her name, but friendly blonde who I believe was Italian). From the second we sat down, I was impressed and wanted to come back. You could tell she actually enjoyed her job and loved the food.
Took my girlfriend here for her birthday. We are both vegetarian and previewed the menu beforehand to ensure we'd have a couple options. We were pleasantly surprised when a 'specials menu' was brought to us, which included more options than on the website. The food was absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed sharing an appetizer and were completely satisfied after the entrees. We also each had two cocktails, and of the four we sampled, all were well balanced and extremely tasty.
Also worth noting, our waiter took his time to answer all our questions and was extremely pleasant. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, the staff enhanced the overall experience. Needless to say, we both had a great time and will be coming back. 10/10 would recommend.
Great evening out with friends. Recommendations from wine to "the best Dover Sole in Chicago" were well received and right on. Beet salad was lovely and buratta so creamy. Dover Sole was indeed superb, well seasoned, with a nice touch of capers, but a little pricey considering the smaller size of their portion. Spaghettini with little neck clams had the right touch of garlic, wine and lots of tender little clams. Perfectly cooked pasta! Homemade Ricotta cheesecake and tiramisu were both creamy and delicious. All left happy and ready to come back to try more excellent dishes that we watched pass by. Energetic spot, definitely had to raise our voices a bit to talk. Nice
Patio, but it was threatening rain, so all stayed inside. Great service from our attentive Belarus waitress.
Nando Milano is one of our favorite Italian restaurants! The manager, Luca, is welcoming and makes you feel right at home the moment you step in. The wine is excellent and the food is delicious. They make their bread daily and even have homemade nutella donuts... a must have! Nando Milano is a fantastic, authentic Italian restaurant on Division. We will definitely be back!
We live in North Suburbs and son lives in city. Met him for dinner, it was early on a Tuesday and we sat outside. Strangely Chicago weather was ideal. Had calamari for 1st time and I had to wonder why I waited so long to try it. I have been here at least 10 times over the last 10 years and never had tried them. Even hough I don't get here often enough the next time will include the calamari .
Insisted seating is cozy and can be a bit noisy.
If you haven't been to Italy, this is the next best place.
