Nando Milano Trattoria
Executive Chef/brother Alessio Vullo and restaurant namesake Nando (a dignified Italian dachshund) complete the restaurant family. Chef Alessio holds the Vullo family secrets, instructing the team every morning in making fresh pasta, breads, and desserts to the highest Italian standards.
We hope you will stop in and experience our cozy Italian world.

Very great experience for my friends/guests, for me it was not a surprise because I already knew the quality of the place!!
VERY UNPROFESSIONAL ESTABLISHMENT. AFTER SEARCHING ONLINE THROUGH OPEN TABLE FOR RESERVATIONS, I SAW THEIR LATEST TIME SLOT WAS 9PM. IDEALLY, I WANTED RESERVATIONS FOR 9:30PM SO I CALLED AND SPOKE WITH THE HOST THAT REASSURED ME THAT I DID NOT NEED A RESERVATION TO BE SEATED AT 9:30PM. I FOUND THIS VERY HARD TO BELIEVE ON A FRIDAY EVENING IN A BUSTLING NEIGHBORHOOD SUCH AS WICKER PARK. SO AS A SAFETY NET I TOLD THE HOST THAT I WOULD STILL MAKE 9PM RESERVATIONS BUT I'D MAYBE GET THERE CLOSER TO 9:15-9:20PM. I WAS ASSURED THIS WAS FINE. WHEN ME AND MY GIRLFRIEND ARRIVED AT 9:15PM. THE RESTAURANT WAS PACKED AND THERE WAS NO HOST AT THE DOOR. WE WAITED ABOUT 10 MINS FOR THE HOST/MANAGER TO COME SPEAK WITH US. I MADE CONTACT WITH HIM MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE HE WALKED OVER AND HE PRETTY MUCH IGNORED OUR EXISTENCE. WHEN HE FINALLY ARRIVES TO THE FRONT, I INFORMED HIM THAT I WAS THE INDIVIDUAL THAT HE SPOKE WITH ON THE PHONE EARLIER IN THE DAY AND STATED WE HAD RESERVATIONS AT 9PM. HE SEEMED TOTALLY UNCONCERNED WITH OUR PRESENCE AND STATED IT WOULD BE A 10MIN WAIT. AS A MANAGER OR HOST YOU'D AT LEAST EXPECT SOME TYPE OF APOLOGY FOR THE WAIT SINCE WE HAD RESERVATIONS AND ON TOP OF THAT WERE REASSURED THAT WE WOULD HAVE 0 PROBLEM BEING SEATED AT 9:30PM. AT THIS POINT IT IS NOW 9:45PM. WE STILL AREN'T SEATED AND THE MANAGER IS OFFERING NO TYPE OF CONSOLATION FOR OUR LONG WAIT. HE HAD THE NERVE TO CATCH AN ATTITUDE WHEN I ASKED HOW MUCH LONGER THE WAIT WOULD BE AND IF HE REALIZED WE'VE NOW BEEN WAITING FOR 25 MINS AND HAD A RESERVATION. HIS ATTITUDE WAS TOTALLY CONDESCENDING IN NATURE AND HE STATED THAT WE COULD GO SOMEWHERE TO WAIT IF WE DIDN'T WANT TO WAIT THERE. I STATED WOULD THEY GIVE US A CALL WHEN A TABLE WAS FREE AND HE STATED "NO, WE SHOULD JUST COME BACK IN 10MINS." AT THIS POINT IT BECAME VERY CLEAR WE WERE NOT WANTED IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT. AS A BUSINESS OWNER MYSELF I FOUND THIS SERVICE VERY DISTURBING AND WE DECIDED TO NOT PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT.
Some of the best service I have ever received. Get there early because it is small and fills FAST. charming, inviting and DELICIOUS
Absolutely AMAZING! My spouse is from Italy and I have lived in Italy. The owner/chef/server, all from Sicily and incredibly freindly, accommodating, kind and overall incredible! We had the arancini/suppli, meatballs, calamari and octopus to start! All delicious, the meatballs and octopus were both incredibly tender and flavorful! Next came the gnocchi sorrentino with smoked mozzarella: delicious! The house made pappardelle with black Umbrian truffles was amazing and they are very generous with the truffles! The dolci, cannoli and tiramisu were amazing! The Sicilian pistachio panna cotta was absolutly not to be believed! Finishing off the meal with their housemade limoncello was the best! Amazing place!
Service and wine list were great! The Italian food menu looked good but tasted pretty average.
We love this restaurant
Food was excellent. Hot, tasty and our waiter did a great job making recommendations. My only suggestion is to add a California Chardonnay to your wine list. Italian chardonnay is very different.
Great fresh pasta with amazing sauces.
Wonderful evening. Food and service were great! Fun cocktails.
This place was so darn cute. It was our first time there and we were warmly greeted. We ordered a bottle of wine, the arancini (delicious), gnocchi and tiramisu. The gnocchi was so soft it was like mush and the tomato sauce (the same on the arancini, was super sweet). The tiramisu was average at best, it didn’t have any structure and we were disappointed. There are a hundred wonderful Italian restaurants in the city. This one missed the mark, great potential but the food was blah.
The service wsas impeccable. This small restaurant has the feel of Italy. We were very impressed with the pasta dishes. The desserts were home made.
One of our favorites for the last 3-4 years and we are never disappointed. Always look forward to going back.
My experience at Trattoria was fabulous! The food was outstanding but what really stood out to me was the service. We had an exceptional waiter and I wish I could remember his name to give a shout out. I went for dinner on a Friday night during a busy time and our waiter still took the time to be attentive to our table and build rapport with us. They really put in the extra effort to make sure the customer has a personalized experience!
Got the time to dine at Nando Milano in Wicker Park. From now it’s my favorite place to eat in Chicago and I have to say this is by far one of the BEST Italian restaurants in the city I have ever been. It’s better to make a reservation before get here, especially on weekends. When we came, manager Luca was very nice and friendly and got us a table by the window. The staff are great here too and the server suggested me a sea food pasta and my friend got truffle pasta. The house made pastas were extremely good with a bottle of wine. Also we’ve got a desert and the tiramisu was spectacular. This restaurant offers a cozy romantic atmosphere and excellent service. Definitely recommend it! For those who want to eat a really good food this restaurant must not be missed.
My husband and I went for a belated Valentine's Day dinner. We enjoyed the experience a lot! Would recommend and would return. I particularly liked the lobster ravioli I ordered for my entreé. Cozy, romantic ambiance.
Always love this place. Great authentic Italian and good people!
Wonderful restaurant with amazing fresh food and excellent service. We will definitely be going back again soon!
The food was amazing and my family enjoyed it a lot! It is definitely a 5 star restaurant. I hope to come here again because the food, value, service and everything else was great. The burrata appetizer in the special course was amazing too!
Very welcoming and makes you feel at home throughout your meal. Great food at a neighborhood gem
Dined here Feb 5. Outstanding restaurant, highly recommend, service from the proprietor greeting at the door to signing the check was professional, courteous and a reminder that great restaurants dont have to be snooty. Food was outstanding, especially the homemade pasta. We tried the gnocchi and the rigatoni. The salad with pear and shallot dressing was special as were the saffron rice balls. Wine list solid and reasonably priced for quality. Cant wait to come back.
Luca is an incredible host!!!
Amazing fresh pasta in a quaint neighborhood Italian spot, wonderful service. Highly recommend.
Absolutely outstanding experience here! I love this place! Real Italian Food -always delicious and service is always great! My family loves to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries here. I love their gnocchi and of course house-made pastas. Desserts are sooo delicious and presentation is even better! Pistachio dessert and lava cake ...yummy! Also you have to try their limoncello, sooo good!!!you won’t find it anywhere else, perfect to warm up on a chilly day!
It was amazing. We had calamari for appetizer than I order ravioli and my wife pasta with REAL truffles (first time I see real truffles in Chicago). For dessert we got lava cake and tiramisu. Will definitely recommend this place
The food took a long time to arrive so that was disappointing.
I came here with my friend and I was amazed. Food is great, service great. This one of few places in Chicago that actually sells truffle pasta. And they have limoncello that is made in house can you imagine that??? Definitely coming back. That's how a real Italian food should taste like!!! I recommend, just try it and you will not regret.
The gnocchi was amazing as was the homemade bread. Great service and nice atmosphere.
Great service! Excellent food and staff
I had the pleasure to dine at Nando's and i have to admit that i had a lot of expectations from this restaurant. Everything went beyond .. The atmosphere is absolutely stunning. Cozy place in the heart of the hottest area of Chicago. What surprised me was the attention to details. All the courses came on time and the presentation of the plates was absolutely great . Dining at Nando is for sure an experience you don't want to miss. Italian authentic with a notable wine list . The service was accurate and at the same time Friendly . Looking forward for my next dinner there.
Nando Milano is my favorite restaurant in all of Chicago. The staff is superb and the food is to die for! I always go to Nando when family or friends are in town, as I love taking them there for the great food and atmosphere!
Can’t wait to come back! Lived in the neighborhood for 2 years now & this was my first experience
Wonderful service, patient, helpful, and yet not in-your-face. I felt like we could take all the time in the world, and that would be fine - and yet I never had to wait when I needed help or attention.
The food was delicious, I really enjoyed the lobster pasta. My dining companions enjoyed their meals as well.
The drinks were delicious. It's nice to find a place that actually has Lillet behind the bar - better still that makes a drink that really uses it well.
The tiramisu was different, but still delicious.
We really love Nando Milano Trattoria. The food is truly authentic Italian - no chicken parm with mostaccoli here! All pasta is handmade, wine options are great, and the desserts are to die for. Especially the panna cotta.
And while this is definitely not an authentic Italian dish, the Caesar salad is the best. Caesar. Ever. Everrrrrrrrr.
Was okay nothing special on the food couldn't hold the sage on a dish and couldn't change the potatoes to something else.
It was a wonderful time and the food was outstanding and our waitress was great! Had a fantastic time! :)
The food was great and the service was good. The experience wasn’t as great as the last time we were there. The waiter we had before was engaged with the menu vs just taking our order.
Really liked the menu and the food we had was very good. My friend ordered the fish special and it showed up with different veggies than what was stated. When we pointed this out to the waiter, he gave us each a glass of wine for the mistake. A great way to handle a minor mistake. Would definitely go back.
Last minute reservation for 8:30 on a Saturday, it was crowded but not overly. Food was excellent, service was even better. One of our new favorite Italian places in the city. Had the special fish Sea Bass stuffed with Lobster and it was perfect. Look forward to coming back and trying some of the pasta dishes
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. I have been twice now, and I will continue going back. Sonia is an amazing service and so knowledgable about the menu. As a gluten free diner, it can be difficult to find italian restuarants with options. Nando Milano is wonderful for allergy needs.
Great food and ambience. The owner made us feel at home and we cannot wait to go back. The lobster and crab ravioli was excellent.
