Dusty took great care of us. We enjoyed the food.
I liked this restaurant, the staff was very helpful in making selections especially with the wine and the service was professional and enjoyable. The food was good, well prepared and beautifully plated, but not exciting. I have no complaints and would certainly return, just wish something was a WOW.
There are a lot of good restaurants in Durham, and Nana's remains one of our favorite for a special, delicious meal! Never disappointed here...
Our favorite restaurant in the Triangle. Always delivers.
Tuna Tartare, Pate and Potato Gnocchi were the 3 appetizers....All terrific!
Pan Roasted NC Striped Bass, Garlic & Rosemary Roasted Wahoo, Grilled
First Hand Pork Chop “Al Pastor’ and Roasted All Natural Chicken.....were outstanding!
Coconut Creme Brûlée and Tangerine “Creamsicle “ Cheesecake were shared desserts....Yummo.
Server was experienced and personable. We’ll be back!❤️
Entrees and dessert very delicious and memorable.
The atmosphere, service, menu, and wine list made for an excellent dining experience. The seafood croquettes were amazing...normally, don't go for fried foods, but these were light and full of seafood. The venison and roasted duck breast entrees were perfectly done and we loved the combination of flavors in the dishes. A favorite restaurant for celebrating special occasions!
First time guests. Delicious homemade bread and meal!
Service great. Food excellent
Excellent food and service. Perfect for a special occasion.
We chose Nana's for my husband's 60th, and our experience far exceeded our expectations. Our table was perfect, the food (especially the lamb chops and special fried oyster appetizer) was amazing and recommended wine the crown jewel. The manager spent time with us explaining the wine and its region, and our server made our night with his kindness and light touch. Thank you all for a lovely night and we'll be back from Raleigh for sure!
Everything was impeccable: the service, food, atmosphere...a truly perfect date night.
Excellent service, recommended entrees saddle of Venison with smoked bacon vodka sauce and the Wahoo dish. Overall a great experience as usual
The food and service was excellent. I cannot remember the name of our server but she was pleasant, helpful and funny.
This was a fantastic experience. The food was amazing and the staff was so helpful. We had an awesome time!
Amazing service and the food was wonderful!
Another fabulous meal at Nana's. The rack of lamb was excellent as was the risotto. The service impeccable as always - just go!
Not up to the usual Nana standard:
Mushroom soup rather bland. Homemade limoncello much too strong. Still a good experience, though.
Excellent service from staff
Our waiter was prompt helpful and honest
He asked the manager to assist with wine selection when he was not comfortable with his knowledge of our interest
Swordfish was stellar
My date is a chef and she was impressed with pairing of ingredients
I always enjoy the depth of the taste and choices at Nana’s
Delicious food and gracious service in a nice, quiet, cozy restaurant.
Great food as usual and the wait staff was amazing.
Nana's is Durham's most predictably fine site for fine dining. The menu always includes 3-4 outstanding permanent menu items and another 10-15 that track the seasons. In this way they provide the comfort of the familiar and the delight of new discoveries.
For our starters, we chose the comfort of the seafood risotto and chicken liver pate (both Nana's classics) then added a delightful morel, spinach, creamy polenta and smoked hog jowl dish. Entrees brought duck breast with sour cherries on a bed of lentils and the best dish of the evening; a wood fired venison saddle atop a just-perfect celaric preparation.
Having decided not to partake of alcohol, we re-allocated the calorie budget to that third appetizer. While this left no room for desert, it increased our savory food experience by 25%. We will surely be back to Nana's soon to repeat this approach.
We have eaten at Nana's numerous times. We will think twice after the other night.
My husband ordered the Ossa Bucco and said it was under cooked (it did not approach falling off the bone texture). We brought it home and it benefitted from an extra hour of roasting.
It was my sister's birthday. Our server was very attentive but the waits between refilling of the birthday girl's glass were noticeable to her. She has ordered roast chicken before at Nana's but her dish the other night was average (she says Vin Rouge does it much better) and the accompanying vegetables were gray.
I ordered two starters so the $200 tab was a bit of a shock. The menu showed a Mango sorbet and my sister was looking forward to finishing with one of her favorites. She was served raspberry sorbet and was told there was no mango sorbet. That misfire caped off a disappointing evening. The meal was not up to the standard we expected from Nana's.
Amazing tasting menu and wine pairing experience. Wine menu was fantastic. Perfect for foodies or special occasions.
Had a very nice meal with a good friend here on Tuesday night. The food was good and our waiter (Michael) was fantastic. It's a great atmosphere - quiet enough to hear each other talk without feeling stuffy or pretentious.
We went to Nana's for a combined birthday and Valentine's Day outing. The food was delish! We had a salad, main course (rib eye and gnocchi) and dessert. It was a special, romantic evening, and we went home ready to relax. We had never been to the restaurant before, but we will go back again!
Very classy place. Great service and wonderful food.
Great food and service! Perfect for dinner before a show at DPAC.
Everything was wonderful!
Belated valentines dinner
Chose Nanas to celebrate 65th birthday. We were not disappointed. Excellent service. Wonderful food. Thank you!
My elderly aunt and uncle were visiting from NYC so we took them to Nana’s for dinner. We had a lovely meal, good food and great service. A bit pricey, but on the whole a wonderful meal.
Waiter for our table was friendly and knew about the menu. Food was exceptionally good. My wife had the Duck and I had Monkfish. Both were done to perfection. The ambiance is sedate and conducive to conversation - something missing from other restaurants with otherwise equally commendable amenities. We don't usually spend that much dining out, but for the quality of food, and for special occasions, Nana's is more than worth it.
Tuna Tartar appetizer outstanding.
Pan seared NC Black Bass with Artichoke Confit was
Roasted Rack of Lamb also excellent
For desert we split the “Banoffee “ Tartlet. To die for.
Nana’s never disappoints. Another great meal, looking forward to coming back soon and having the tasting menu. We went in the night before Valentine’s Day and had an excellent meal of soup and pasta to start and lamb and fish for entrees. All excellent. Desserts and service every bit as good too!
Food excellent, great service , very accommodating for vegetarian, special needs.
Ordered a cocktail before I ordered food. The waiter never brought it until after the meal showed up. The food was not very tasty to warrant the pricing... in my opinion.
I ordered steak & it was very good. My husband ordered chicken & he said it was just ok.
Nothing special although a lot of my colleagues rave about this place.
Great food and service. A little noisy when it is crowded.
