Food was delicious and their playlist *chefs kiss*!
Everything was great aside from waiting an hour and a half to get our food.
Love Nami. Food and drinks all great. Wendy the owner is a wonderful host.
Food was amazing as always and our waitress was very sweet and attentive. I tried the pork sliders for the first time and they were amazing!
My first visit to Nami. I sat at an inside table by the open door with a huge comfy leather chair. My waiter Edwin was a very attentive young man and checked in with me politely about 10 times during my visit. The sake selection was respectable. I ordered the organic 10 ounce Kikusui Junmai Ginjo Sake ($20), a very good medium-dry sake, not too sweet. I prefer to order sashimi with a side of brown rice ($4) instead of sushi, so I can minimize my rice consumption. The 20 piece sashimi special, priced at very modest $25 normally comes with sushi rolls. I asked if I could skip the rolls. The sushi chef was extremely accommodating with my requests. I was pleasantly surprised that the basic sashimi plate was served with three fresh scallops and two sweet shrimp (including the delicious fried top section of the shrimp), higher-priced items rarely seen on special combo plates. Tonight Nami also had uni with quail egg, well-priced at $7 each. Uni is very perishable and usually expensive. This uni was spectacular and cleverly served in a cucumber cup. The quality of the rest of the fish was very good. My dinner was delicious and relaxing. My total bill was $73, including the sake and large bottle of Pellegrino ($6). Comparable dinners at other sushi places could be closer to $100 before tip. I also spoke with Nami’s owner on the way out and complimented her on my delightful dinner. She was very gracious, grateful and hoped I would come back. I will!
I can not accurately review this restaurant as they were closed. I have no idea why they would have had availability on Open Table. My companion and I got there and the restaurant was dark. We were fortunate to get a spot at and did end up having a fabulous meal down the street at Pane e Vino and can highly recommend them though. I have heard Nami is exceptional and hope that I have the opportunity to find out for myself at some point. I will update my review then.
My experience at nami was a very pleasant one! The food was good the drinks were good and the waiter was amazing! He was very personable, funny, patient, and knowledgeable. Everything you would want in a waiter. My only complaint was that when I arrived the one guy at the host stand told me to hold on as he was typing something in but after 10 minutes still didn’t say anything. Then another lady came over & I had a reservation for 2 and when I got there I was told I had to wait for the other person to arrive first before I could be seated but a party of 8 came in right behind me, only 2 of the 8 there and they sat them right down without having to wait for the rest of their party. Then when the other half of my party arrived they told us they had to clear a table first. If I have a reservation I feel like it should already be ready and waiting when I arrive. Besides that I have no complaints. Surprisingly for a Saturday night it was slow and not over crowded. They were following all covid rules and regulations & it was an amazing dinner. I would definitely return.
Hidden gem of providence one of my favorite places in the city can’t go wrong any time you choose to go to Nami staff is always on point and food/drinks are always consistent
Everything was great, definitely do the pound cake ice cream deep fried.
Excellent service and the Sushi was delicious!!
Sat at the bar, happy to see all protocols being following. Sushi, apps and drinks were all beautifully presented and delicious!
This was our first time at Nami. Initially we were struck by how beautiful the restaurant is. The service was impeccable and the quality of sushi was amazing! Can’t wait to come back!
Our server Edwin was fantastic! Felt very comfortable with the execution of Namis covid protocols.
Got us to our table very quickly (8pm reservation) place was very busy. The service was impeccable. The Sushi was extremely fresh and delicious!!!! I have been waiting to try this place for a while.. so glad I did. Wished I had sooner...♡♡
Best sushi in Providence.
Everything was lovely. Especially the SERVICE + the music playing was a VYBE
The only complaint is the officer on duty on the corner directing traffic had his lights on the entire time while guests were there and it was visible throughout except the very back.
Overall very good. Our server was great, I wish we could remember his name! Disappointed they weren’t doing restaurant week but understand not everyone can do it in these times
The wait for two sushi rolls was over an hour. The waiter kept telling us they were backed up which made no sense because the restaurant was only half full. The sushi rolls kept falling apart. Something was off. Maybe it was a new chef 🤷🏼♀️
The food, service and restaurant are all very good. However they really need to do something about the parking situation. When it gets busy people start to double park and block each other in. They should really have a valet there to organize the lot. I’m absolutely sure people would be willing to pay for valet service. The restaurant is worth it otherwise.
I have dined at Nami before and enjoyed the experience. This last visit, however, there were flaws. My reservation wasn’t a reservation at all. The hostess said I’d have to wait 15 minutes. Then, we were given a high top table instead of the requested seating on the reservation.
I was disappointed at the temperature of the building. It was freezing. Some of the staff had the side door open and was smoking outside.
Amazing Jalapeños!!
Probably the best sushi I have ever had! The drinks are amazing too
The waitress offered glass of wine so we agreed o didn’t know they offered bottles otherwise we would have done that. We ordered two appetizers and three rolls. The waiter should have mentioned the rolls were larger rolls than normal. It was obscene the amount of food come out. I felt like he should have guided us and say can I make a suggestion or just a heads up.
Delicious and affordable. Highly recommend the happy hour!
Great staff food was excellent- good gluten free options
My waiter was great. But the food was so so. My husband and I both felt sick later when we got home.
Excellent sushi, strong drinks, fun atmosphere.
My family of 6 had a great time here on New Years Eve! The price is a bit high but average for Federal Hill. Food was delicious and everyone was pleased, even those who did not order sushi. My husband said the steak was amazing! I split the Sushi & Sashimi for 2 with my daughter and we each had a seaweed salad as an appetizer...we were STUFFED!
Food and cocktails were great!! We didn’t get the table we had asked for. It was New Year’s Eve so they had 2 seats set up on each of the corners of the hibachi tables. It was fine for us as it was still private. Our waitress was excellent. We will definitely return!
Always a great experience. We ate at Nami before catching a show at the theater. The service was great and food was terrific. They do not have a dedicated GF menu but worked with us to order GF items. We will definitely be back.
Great restaurant
Had an 8pm reservation for a Saturday night. We waited quite a while to get our table, as there wasn’t one available. The food was absolutely delicious. Service was slow but our waitress was lovely.
Our waitress, Mookie, was very good
Awesome vibe, beautiful restaurant. Service was top notch and food was delicious. Felt prices were great for incredible quality of food. Everything we had was so delicious!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE NAMI!!!!!!! Best Sushi in RI. Firecracker roll is FIRE!
The sushi and sashimi were very tasty and fresh!
The service here is extremely slow. Be ready to wait a long time for some to take your order for drinks and then come back 10 minutes later for your food order and the food to take a long time to come out. Clearly understaffed.
Service in the beginning was slow until they switched servers. After that everything was exceptional
If you like sushi and prefer a very Americanized experience, this place might be OK. There is loud (bad, in my opinion) American music playing. The atmosphere is just like any trying-to-be-trendy restaurant. The only thing Japanese about it is the food. Our server was nice but had no idea about any of the sake selections. I get the impression that everyone orders cocktails. The tempura and sushi were good, but we prefer a more authentic Japanese restaurant where you can actually have a conversation and enjoy a calm atmosphere. Plus, some knowledge of the menu on the part of staff would be great. We will not return.
Sushi is terrible. I haven’t tried the rest, but judging for the sushi is one of the worst I have tried in my life.
