The service was amazing. Our waitress was very experienced and helped us by making sure we ordered the right quantities of various dishes for our group of 6 people. We are from an area where Japanese cuisine and sushi is exceptional, so we are a little snobby when it comes to this cuisine. We can say that our group was very satisfied with the food and the large portions served. We will be going back again.
I un fortunately had to change the res numerous times the day we had all scheduled to eat dinner and the staff was so cooperative and supportive.
Food was great!
5 star choice
The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The staff were friendly, accomidating, and knowledgeable, they gave some great dish advice. It was a little expensive but not surprising, it was totally worth every dollar! It was quite loud in the restaurant, its all open and there were quite a lot of people. I look forward to going back and sampling more of what they do!
Very cute restaurant on Federal Hill with a delicious menu and friendly and relatable staff. Our group was a party of 8 so we were able to be seated in a private room with sliding doors which was very cool. Some food could use a bit more seasoning but for the most part the food was very good, and my friends and I enjoyed our dinner very much. Favorite thing on the menu? Probably the vanilla fried ice cream. It was my first time having fried ice cream and it was a very pleasant first time.
I'm active duty Military and have been station in Newport RI for the last 4 years. My husband and I have been coming to nami for the last 4 years. We love the food and service is always great. Just in the past 2 weeks when been twice. The only thing is they don't have a kids menu, so we usually get our now 8 year old something to eat before we get there. A few times we ordered him the chicken and rice, which I thought was very good. However, my son is still in the nuggets and fries stage. We always!! Get sushi when dining at nami, and it's always delicious! Everyone should try Nami.
Best restaurant in Providence! Far best! I stayed in Pawtucket, but it was worth driving to Nami, every time.
Went in with a friend. Food and waitress were good. Waitress mistakenly brought a bottle of wine $15 over the price of the one I had ordered. When I discovered it on the bill, I brought it to her attention. She consulted her manager, returned, and said she personally would pay the $15. I said I couldn't permit that and asked her to consult her manager again. She returned saying she would personally be required to pay the $15. I paid the entire bill plus the $15 and left. Now the manager has successfully disciplined his waitress, gotten the establishment its $15, and lost two Providence patrons forever. Great management technique!
It was OK food - food was good drinks were just ok
Valentines Day. Made reservations. I came exactly on time and they were ready for us. The server was amazing. The food was great. I suggest spicy crunchy tuna roll. Prices were perfect and valet was polite. Would highly recommend.
Great Time, Great Food ! Enjoyed my date night there. Thanks Nami !
My fiancé and I had dinner here for Valentine's Day and the entire experience was wonderful! The food was delicious and our waiter, Patrick, was fantastic and super attentive to us. We may have a new Valentine's Day tradition! Thanks for a great date night, Nami!
Always a great time and the food is so fresh
First time diner and it was wonderful. Food was so fresh and delicious. I had for the first time fried prawn heads - omgoodness they were so yummy. Service was perfect. Will definitely be back and let my friends know, too!
A gem, we will be back! Service was outstanding, food delicious, staff nice. One in our party is very knowledgeable about Japan and Japanese food and gave it two thumbs up as well.
Nami is by far my favorite place to have dinner. I LOVE sushi, and Nami makes creative, fun, healthy sushi with high-quality ingredients. The hot meals are amazing as well - the steak and mashed potatoes for example are AMAZING. The staff is always polite, helpful, and coordinate things like birthdays with ease. I cannot say enough good things about Nami - it can get noisy sometimes, but that's true of any good restaurant. :)
Good sushi.
LOVE Nami! My favorite Sushi in RI, the Firecracker roll is the best
Our party of 4 dined here for my husband’s birthday on a Friday night. Our server Lexa was great, very attentive, gave us time when we needed to look over the menu and gave great recommendations on drink/food choices. We had a bunch of different sushi rolls, goyza, edamame and delicious flavored sake. This place is great for a date night, special occasion or you just want to take the family to get yummy sushi. We’ll be back!
we were a large business party of 14, there following a long convention weekend, and Nami was exceptional!! We had several food allergies/sensitivities to accommodate (shrimp, dairy, gluten, high salt) and we had absolutely NO TROUBLES! Kudos to the chef and the staff.
We were there for a 7:45pm Sunday reservation, the service was impeccable; Friendly, observant, responsive... Everyone at dinner commented on the quality of the food and drinks, we were very pleased. The hand crafted signature cocktails were wonderful, great quality saki as well...
I have already recommended Nami to relatives, and we will certainly go back for future business meetings. This restaurant is a GEM.
Terrific sushi, fresh and inventive options. Perfect, light rice--and not too much of it--on rolls. Beautiful presentation, attentive service and comfy banquettes throughout the restaurant. Excellent, well-priced sake list, as well as other drinks. We didn't get one but the enormous scorpion bowls are clearly very popular!
Spencer was great!! Company dinner and we will definitely be back!
Everything was great, I just thought the hibachi was cooked right in front of you but it ends up being cooked in the kitchen. Other than that, great vibe, food, service, prices etc.
Overall I am satisfied, I just wish the bathroom was cleaner. Aside for that, I’ll be back!
Entire meal took almost 2 hours. Food was good but the length of time spent there did not match the food.
We moved to Providence from L.A. and had a hard time finding sushi that was up to our snobbish standards until we went to Nami. It's been our go-to place ever since. The sushi and rolls are outstanding. We had family in from San Diego and took them to Nami and they said it was just as good as any sushi place in San Diego. Check out the happy hour menu, too. Can't recommend it highly enough.
The service was poor and slow. The food was average. I wouldn't come back after the experience I had.
We have been to Nami several times, and have never been disappointed! The salmon dish (topped with crabmeat) is the best I have ever tasted-- and I try salmon whenever I can! The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the portion size.
Good Place, Quiet night. Service was excellent, food was good, just not great. We would go again, but I think there is better sushi to be had in Providence.
Excellent food and service during restaurant week. Attentive and extremely pleasant server, I wish I remembered his name! We ate outside and since it's on busy federal hill by a main intersection there were moments with significant traffic noise. I would absolutely recommend this to friends, but suggest an indoor seat.
Everything was nice. Waitress was exceptional
I always forget to ask for our waiter's name but he has served us before- always attentive, kind, fun and great for suggestions! Love date nights at Nami :)
Casual meal with family
Nothing special. Not out of this world. Standard fare.
First time dining at Nami and was very impressed. Had two of the specialty rolls (Tuxedo and Heartbreaker) which were both delicious. Great quality sushi! Had the pork belly sliders to start and some mochi ice cream for dessert. Had the sake mojito which was very interesting and good. Service was very attentive and friendly (thank you Louis!). Will definitely be back. It was a wonderful evening on the Hill. 5 stars!
Met a friend here and the sushi was excellent. Interesting miso soup with the full belly clams - delicious!
Everything was delicious but the server was clearly new to the restaurant if not being a server in general. He didn't know the specials and struggled with opening a bottle a wine, things normally that don't bother me that were very apparent. The food was really good!
Only issue with the our visit was with the young lady hostess. She was more concerned with talking to the waiters than with waiting on customers. Everyone in our group commented on it at the table.
Great place - very good food, nice ambience, staff was great
Have been coming to Nami Providence for the last five years and the sushi is predictable fabulous as is the drink menu and the service. Looking forward to returning in 2018!
Sushi rolls were creative, and well priced. Happy hour menu had a good selection and value. Personally I was not a fan of their cocktail menu. But the food overall was really good.
