Excellent restaurant. It is one of our favorites and we are sad that it is closing. There is no other restaurant like it in Atlanta.

The restaurant has simple and beautiful decor. The food is the best Vietnamese I have ever tasted. We chose this for our Christmas lunch because we all love it so much. Great Job!

Very good food, setting, and ambience. Only suggestion: when guests use regular silverware rather than chop sticks, new silverware should be supplied after the appetizer rather than the used utensils (with food particles on them) put on the table for re-use with the main course.

We visited on a relatively quiet Saturday night after reading a series of great reviews about the place. It's a bit hard to find - it's behind the Starbucks in the Promenade shopping center. We walked by it twice before we found it. The food was great and was just as described in the reviews. The service, on the other hand, was lacking. The waitress took our food order and didn't even offer to take a drink order from us. I had to ask her for a drink when she brought us our appetizer. They seemed to be more interested in getting us out as quickly as possible than they were with assuring our experience was satisfactory. After the main dishes, we were simply asked if we were finished, with no offer of coffee or desserts either.

The flavors were delicious. We loved the Tamarind soup! Could have been a bit more on the sour side for my taste buds. Nice to taste the Vietmanese cuisine of the Kinjo brothers.

We did not dine there. Selected the restaurant by looking at the website and the online menu. Online menu had authentic Vietnamese dishes. In the restaurant, the menu was totally different. Upon asking about the online menu, they were totally clueless and said it was probably old. Upon asking about the existing menu, and authentic dishes, we were told that this was Vietnamese fine dining -- like we are fools. Having traveled to Vietnam many a times, we know the food well. It is one thing to be competent and arrogant; but incompetence and arrogance just does not work! We did not eat there....we left. And do not ever plan to go back.

The service was really good, the table was quiet, good for conversation. I had the claypot sea bass and my friend had the steamed sea bass and both were outstanding. The server recommended the seafood net spring roll as an appetizer, but we didn't want something fried so we had the Vietnamese spring rolls as an appetizer. The peanut sauce served with the rolls was outstanding.

Food is always excellent. Service can be confused at times. On our last occasion, we brought a bottle of wine and the server couldn't even open it properly. Also, really strange in a Vietnamese restaurant to be listening to modern/hip music. What's up with that?! The bar service is limited to beer and wine only (no liquor).

The food was above average for a Vietnamese restaurant, but I feel it was overpriced. The spring rolls were too gummy and the rice flour tamales were too bland. We ate both the sea bass presentations and they were both excellent; one cooked in a banana leaf and the other, caramelized and served in a small clay pot. I would recommend both

The service was great. We tried the quail for the appetizer and it was phenomenal! We then shared a salad (the Mango salad) and a soup (Mom's Cabbage Soup). While the reviews we had read prior to visiting this restaurant raved about the soup - we felt it was bland until we added the spicy sauce that came with it. It was a little disappointing. On to the entrees...we had the Clay Pot Sea Bass and the Shakin Filet Mignon. Both were delcious. The food was awesome...the noise was a bit much...the decor was very cool. It has the potential of being a very romantic restaurant...minus the noise. Overall it is a must try for all!

The shaking filet was, as usual, wonderful. My wife got the clay pot sea bass and it was to die for! The tamarind soup and lemongrass tofu were also top notch. And it's nice to be able to find a 33 beer ... that beer is rare in this city.

Nam is one of the top five restaurants in the city. Everything out of the kitchen is of the highest quality and creative preparation. My favorite entrees are the Shaking Filet and Fried Tofu - both are sublime. For the level of quality, I think it's also very reasonably priced.

First time at restaurant. Had heard it was wonderful. Not a good experience at all. Service was slow - only one waiter trying to handle Sat. nite crowd and no explanation of the menu. Crepe appetizer was extremely messy and greasy. Ordered lemongrass chicken - horribly dry and tastless and unappentizing on the plate. The flounder was charred beyond recognition and full of bones. Had to send it back - tried the spring rolls, very greasy and mushy as if frozen and then deepfried. All overpriced for value. Not going back.

Food was overpriced for the quality. Lemon grass chicken was very dry which was a surprisingly disappointing. Wines were good but there was nothing exceptional about the food to justify the high bill for Asian cuisine. Service was pleasant but not attentive. Had to request refills on water. Ambience was pleasant but on a Saturday night, the restaurant filled up quickly and became a bit noisy. Parking at the shopping center where the restaurant is located was next to IMPOSSIBLE on a Saturday night. Will not go back again. Too many other good Asian restaurants where food quality and price are more in line and parking is a breeze.

Wonderful restaurant all around. The food is exceptional, and the servers are extremely professional and attentive. Parking is sometimes a problem since Nam is located in an odd shopping center right off Monroe. As another testament to their superior service, though, they are very understanding if you are late for your reservation due to parking difficulties! Definite "go to" spot for out of town guests who appreciate really good Asian cuisine.
