Naked Fish is located on Chestnut Street in San Francisco, California, and offers an extensive menu of soups, salads and sushi rolls. The large menu offers a wide variety of fish, beef, chicken, and vegetarian dishes such as hamachi kama, beef teriyaki, naked lettuce cup, and wakame salad.
In addition to classic Japanese dishes, Naked Fish offers many popular signature rolls such as the autumn delight roll, the snow whole roll, and the Tokyo breeze roll. It even offers classic Japanese desserts such as mochi, green tea ice cream, and black sesame ice cream. Naked Fish has proven to be an excellent place to bring your friends and family if you are looking for a great place to eat in the San Francisco area.
The food was good but this is not inexpensive. Good but not good enough that I would hurry back for.
Love this local spot. Great sushi at a good price- pretty much a neighborhood go to spot
Dinner with my 8 yr old; she loved the cucumber sushi but not so much the grilled chicken
My assortment of sushi was excellent for the price
Great for groups.
We got a last minute reservation on a busy Sunday night and found a parking space on Chestnut! Food and service was good. Will come back.
I love the happy hour here (everyday 4:30-6:30). The service is amazing and they are so friendly and attentive. They come by before it ends to make sure you don't want to add anything else before the price changes. Love the crunchy California rolls! And the rainbow roll and California rolls! The warm saki is $4 and it was every bit worth it. Not too busy and quiet enough to hold a conversation and catch up with friends. We got there early and they seated us right away.
Only negative - there were a few gnats flying around.
Awful food and poor service and didn't get one item we ordered.
Sushi is very good, but people drinking shots and screaming make a terrible noise and ruin the dining experience
Good food but didn't like being charged for a refill on a fountain-drawn Coke.
Fresh, good but they"forgot" half our order and the wait once we raised the issue was too long.
Our meal at Naked Fish was very good. They had some interesting menu items, and everything we ordered was good. I can't rate the items we ordered on a level with similarly priced sushi places in LA (with which I'm more familiar). But it was definitely a place we would eat again.
We came on Valentines day, which might be their busiest day of the year. So our food took a while in coming. But the waiters were very gracious and did their best to get our meal out as quickly as possible.
I made a reservation here for a group of 8. They easily accommodated our group size with a nice table in the back. They took our drink order pretty fast but took awhile to come back to take our order for food. Once they did the service was fast and the food was great! All the rolls were good sized and really delicious.
I loved the BBQ albacore. The sushi rolls were great. Wait staff was attentive. I am not fond of sushi as my sole diner option but my family loves it so we came here. I had miso soup and beef teriyaki and was highly satisfied with the meal. Was appreciative that the hostess seated us in a place that I could hear the table conversations
This place was so good! We were visiting from NJ and went here for my boyfriends birthday. It was near our hotel and right on Chestnut so we could go get some drinks after as well. Naked Fish was such a great place! Food was amazing, Im still thinking about the hamachi carpachio I had as well as the rolls. My bfs food was also amazing. He got the seafood tacos as an app and we were shocked by how huge they were. Service was great, food came out so quickly. Everyone was very friendly. I def recommend this place
Not only the best sushi in SLC but also all of the tapas style appetizers that I have tried have been outstanding. The only negative is the atmosphere which is cold and stark (as opposed to Takashi which is not nearly as good but is always bustling and has a great ambience).
Some friends were in town from San Jose for a quick lunch so I made reservations at Naked Fish so they could see Chestnut Street but eat somewhere we didn't have to yell at each other to catch up. Meal was very reasonably priced and the ambiance was great, I think we made most of the noise to be honest. Great wine selection and everything from the Poke to rolls were yummy. We will likely be back!
No wonder they were the only restaurant available on a Friday night, three hours before the reservation time. Food was subpar, service was even less accommodating, and the price didn't match what we received at all. Won't be back.
First of all, this place gets LOUD at night when big groups arrive to share lots of excellent sushi. If you can handle the noise level, don't be shy. Beer & wine is either reasonable or actually CHEAP, which is lovely. We stayed away from sake cocktails, started with miso soup & edamame, and proceeded to devour 8-10 rolls (a party of five). Each was wonderful, except there was one we didn't love (the Red Caterpillar, only because the sauce on top reminded us too much of ketchup). Our faves were the Naked Fish Roll, the Godzilla, the Marina Angel, and the Fire Cracker Balls. I can't wait to go back!
Made reservations for 7pm, got there early, they did not check for reservations for a table instead asked if we wanted to sit at the bar.
Ordered beer and came within 5 min, then placed 4 dishes of sushi and waited almost 45 min to arrive. The 2 tables on each side came in after us and had larger orders and 2 extra people yet were mostly done eating when I got up to ask what happened to our order.
Since this was our first date, it was a little embarassing expecting more professionalism.
I would come back, but not immediately since the food was well prepared. We actually decided
to go somewhere else for dessert in fear of waiting again.
Love getting edamame when you first walk in. The wakame salad was delicious as well as all the following dishes. My favorite is the 49ers roll with crab, salmon and a thin slice of lemon on top. I would go back for that roll alone! Also recommend the veggie pot stickers. Yum!
I would not return to this establishment. The sushi was uninspired. The place itself is run down.
Reasonably priced and very fresh fish. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I also enjoy sitting at the sushi bar and chatting with the sushi chef. With 5+ sushi options in the area, this is my go to.
Naked Fish is a favorite neighborhood restaurant with always fresh sushi.
Try the 49er and the sunset strip, they are great.
Due to traffic issues, my husband and I arrived late for lunch with our family. They had already ordered, including two Dragon rolls. My nephew said they were the best he'd ever tasted, but I found them completely flavorless. Other than that, quality was good. As we'd arrived late, we were advised that it was "last call" for lunch, so our lunch was a little rushed.
I would go again, but be sure to get there earlier.
The food was delicious and the service was fast and professional. The prices were reasonable for good sushi.
As always food was delicious! We had the Tuna Pyramid which is always to die for! I also had the "To die for" Roll, and it really was. Service was great. It was a great Valentines date for myself and my home from college daughter. It was her first time there and she was super impressed!
Second time here. First time was a late night outing and was good as well. Prompt service, fresh sushi, and good drinks. Reasonably priced as well.
It was so dark we couldn't read the menu!
Service was not the greatest. We ordered some sashimi and rolls and asked that the sashimi come out before our rolls. Needless to say all the food came out at once. Wait staff never came by after our food was brought out to ask how the food was or offer any drink re-fills. I could have understood some of these actions if the place was busy but there were only a few tables occupied. The food overall was ok. I've had better rolls at my local Publix Grocery Store.
Food was way better than I expected for the cost. The sashimi pieces were very hearty. We fed a table of 5 for much less than other sushi places.
The food and service were great as usual
