Yummy and fun. We ate late in the evening and so the restaurant was fairly empty - but the noise from our stove top hood ... was really, really loud! All else was great.

Went here for my birthday thinking it was the same high-class sushi and hibachi restaurant as the one on the south side. I was very disappointed. Plates were very cheap. Silverware looked like it was borrowed from my high school cafeteria.
Other than the ambience, food was good, chef was good. Wasn’t super unhappy, just disappointed
We had a great meal and a great time at Nakama in Wexford. A lot of food for the money. We all had filet mignon with shrimp or chicken at the hibachi. I was surprised by the size of the filets and They were very tender. We all had left overs for a second meal the next day. I am not usually big on leftovers but this is one thing I and the rest of my family will eat.
Chef forgot appetizers!!!!!!!
We arrived on a slow Sunday night and chose to be served at a table, not at the hibachi. We did order two hibachi meals and appetizers, along with sushi. Food service was extremely slow and the server who brought the food from the kitchen did not know who got what and brought the wrong dishes twice. the seaweed salad did not taste right, but had a fishy flavor. The hibachi was served first. The chicken was burnt, chewy and dry. The vegetables were cold. The Korean BBQ lettuce wrap did not come for another 15 minutes. The sushi came after we had finished eating everything else. It came so late in the meal that we did not want it. The reason we went there in the first place was for sushi. It was a Sunday night and the place was not crowded. So, I won't go back and I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. It's a shame.
Good experience. Family raved about the quality of meat used (steaks in particular). Would have been nice to customize the heat level of the “diablo” dishes, but otherwise no complaints. A somewhat pricey experience ($45 per person average) but a decent amount of high quality food (and decent leftovers) will bring us back again at some point (but just for special or holiday occasions).
Food was really good except the soup tasted like really salty beef bouillon.

We have been going there since it opened. It was for my daughter's birthday and while my husband and I were on time, our daughter got caught in traffic and was late by 7 minutes. When my daughter arrived, the manager was very rude and would still not seat us until my son in law actually walked through the door, even as he was opening the door. She stated that all members of the party had to be inside the restaurant before we could be seated. She then came back and gave us salad and soup at the same time. There wasn't anyone else in the restaurant at the time, so I'm not sure why the rush and the threat to give away our reservation for two of our party being 5 minutes late. The food also was not up to the usual standard. Probably will not go back.

Other than the at-the-table cooking experience nothing great about this place. Had to wait past reservation time to be seated, and then at table waited a full 45 minutes until the chef came to our table to cook our meal. Decor (what there is of it) is dated and a kind of run-down - uncomfortable, old ripped, plastic seat chairs with metal legs. Massive cold air drafts emanated from the large venting hoods above our table. The food was good but nothing stellar - basically steak, chicken, shrimps and scallops cooked in teriyaki/soy sauce - hard to mess up? Only two chefs were working the entire restaurant, resulting in the long waits. It's all about the experience I suppose but be prepared for the possibility of LOUD groups/families with small children literally screaming about the flame show. Hard pass on this place.
My wife and I love nakamas south side... we came to cranberry for a couples retreat and our date night we decided on nakamas... everything from the hibachi was burnt and undercooked at the same time... the fried rice was like eating rock salt bc it was so hard from being burned I literally took my entire meal in a Togo box and it went right to the trash... $100 somethin dollars wasted and the night ruined

This was our friend experience and a wonderful time for my daughters and nephews birthday! The staff was exceptional and the food was soooo good! Thank you for being so great to our huge party of 15!
I couldn’t believe this was the second time I hardly got any sautéed vegetables much of it was onions. Also we have been going there for many years. When u used to get your shrimp appetizer while the chef cooked now it comes all together with your meal . None of us at our table liked that idea .. hope they go back to serving it before they start to cook the meals .
Perfect dinner for birthday get together with friends
The grill chef had to leave our station to get bowls of white rice, which were supposed to be delivered by servers. The meat continued to cook on the grill during his absence. Everyone’s steak was over cooked beyond their preference. Cocktails were watery. Beer arrived slowly and was warm. There was no “show” during the cooking. Chef did not seem skilled.
Upon arriving (a few minutes early)we were told we had to wait for another party to arrive as they were seating us together. We waited for over 15 minutes and they didn’t show. It’s unfortunate that this is the policy. Luckily we had time before our movie start time or we would have been late!! They were no where near full and I don’t even know why we needed a reservation. Once we were seated we waited 25 minutes for our food. Our waiter and chef were great but Disappointing overall.
Our chef was new and he was having a difficult time with "the show". The food was not the best that we have had at Nakama. I know they can do and have always done better. I chock this one experience up to a mistake. I hope the chef makes it, cause he sure tried, but after setting the barbecue beside us on fire, he was a bit shaken up by the time he came to us. It was however, quite entertaining!

We went because we had a gift card. Glad we didn't have to pay $100 for what we got. Basically it's the Olive Garden of Japanese food. Very basic. Not bad, but nothing better than that. Gyoza was really greasy. Soup had a ton of salt. Sushi was very average. Lobster in hibachi dish was dry. Atmosphere was about what you'd expect in a strip shopping center. Our server was pleasant.

We went to this Nakama location for my daughter’s birthday. We’ve been to the Southside location on many occasions but this was our first time in Wexford. Our hibachi chef was fantastical. Very entertaining and knowledgeable about the food that he was preparing. Our meals were delicious.
We love the South Side location but the Wexford location has consistently disappointed and we will not be eating there again. The service is consistently poor and the food is never the same quality as the South Side loc. We waited soo long for a server and then I was given a glass of iced tea that looked like coffee and had NO ICE. I had trouble chewing the sushi and I typically love their shrimp but they tasted soo weird I didn't eat them. Our chef was very nice and the server looked as though he was very stressed out. There were only 3 "tables" and 2 servers so not sure what the problem was....again. Such a shame.
Nakama in Wexford is never a disappointment. The food is great and service is friendly and attentive.
For the most part the overall dinner was enjoyable. We were there with our adult children for father's day. I would like to offer constructive criticism. My son and his wife are vegetarians. Well, they do eat fish, but they do not eat beef or pork or chicken. Both the server and the chef were aware of this. The other four of us ordered combinations of chicken and beef. My son who is a vegetarian ordered tuna with veggies. My daughter-in-law ordered the vegetarian delight.
When the meal was prepared the chef cooked the vegetables last. Which meant that the vegetables were cooked with the same utensils and on the same grill as all of the meat products. This should have been done in the other order, with the vegetables being prepared first, prior to any meats touching the grill or the utensils. In addition, my daughter in law was not served any of the items that were cooked first. As such, her plate sat empty for approximately 40 minutes while waiting for something to be placed on her dish. Had the vegetables or at least the mushrooms been prepared first, this would not have happened. My son had to ask the chef to start the mushrooms, so that his wife could at least have something to eat.
The chef was young and she appeared to be newly trained...... I am hoping this feedback makes it back to her so she knows for her future customers. She was pleasant, polite, kind and courteous. We really enjoyed her. But she seemed to be completely unaware that one of her customers sat that long with no food on her plate while some of the others in our group were almost done eating.
We were at the Wexford restaurant, and I believe she is the only female chef. Please pass this on, so that she might accept these comments and consider modifying her routine/order of preparation for her future customers.

We were a party of 12. The two chefs were great. Granddaughters ( age 3 and 4) had a wonderful time! Food was hot and delicious.
Had reservations at 7:00. Did not start eating until 8:30. People that were seated after us ate before us. Server was very slow and kept forgetting our items. Hibachi chef was also very slow and in my opinion not experienced enough to be cooking on her own. Food quality was not up to part and not a great value for what we received. Would probably not return again unless things changed.
