Nai Tapas Ratings and Reviews
Terrific, if somewhat grumpy, service--but I believe that is because the servers are actualy Spanish and have strong Catalan accents. The seafood is really, really good...it's fun to go with a few people (as we did). Strangely they put mayonnaise on almost everything, (I love mayonnaise but not everyone does). Four people with ymmy pitcher of sangria and 6 tapas was satisfying and with tip about $200 so a deal for Manhattan, and fun and memorable to share the dishes. Give it a try.
2nd time with a group to Nai tapas, this time I made the reservation at 7:45 to allow time to order and chat with friends before the Flamenco starts as it get's so loud you can't even hear yourself think. The problem was the food came so fast that we finished within an hour and couldn't really enjoy. I think we would have ordered more food/drinks but it was so loud that we couldn't get each other's attention, let alone our server. If I go back again, I will request a seat in the back or front so it will hopefully be less loud.
Magnificent Tapas - Wonderful, Downtown Ambiance
If you love regional tapas and an authentic selection of Spanish wines, this is the place for you. Everything on the menu is executed with care and with exceptional flavors. In addition to the spectacular dishes, the ambiance is warm and rustic with an authentically Spanish vibe. Thankfully, no getting rushed or synthetic friendliness here. An authentic experience through and through. Love everything about Nai!
I came here on multiple occasions before, this time i came in for my birthday with a bunch of friends who were the first timers at the restaurant and everyone loved it, the show was interesting, the food was very good, portions aren't big that way we tried many things on the menu and one thing was better than the other, great experience and everyone is satisfied with it. Would definitely recommend this place and will be back there soon for the amazing food.
This is my favorite restaurant. The food is exceptionally good and always fresh and interesting and authentic tapas. The service is outstanding. Everyone is happy to see you, greets you warmly, makes you feel at home and special. I've come here for a retirement party, a party party, friends' get-togethers, casual dining, special "dates" with my husband. And of course the Flamenco dancing on Thursdays and Saturdays are a special treat.
Food was good though their inventive tapas were not as good as traditional ones. They asked us to leave after only one hour of dining even though we had a legit reservation through Open Table. They admitted the mistake later but no apologies and this incident ruined total experience. We will not go back there.
Loved this restaurant! Creative menu and perfect ambiance for my kind of fun date night. I originally had high hopes for the sangria given that it's a Spanish restaurant but was ultimately disappointed - it had no flavor to it and seemed to be watered down (maybe too much ice?). Nonetheless, the delicious tapas, live music, and flamenco dancing topped off my overall experience and made it all worth my time.
Definitely go for one of the flamenco performances! The food is delicious, the service great, and the music and dancing is wonderful. A fun experience with friends or family! However, if you want to be able to have an in depth conversation you may want to avoid the flamenco because it is very energetic and it might be hard to hear. Or, better yet, show up well before the show so you can talk when it is quiet and then still get to enjoy the dancing!
Loved the ambiance - fun, young vibe with a trendy twist on some classic Spanish tapas. We went with our kids (10 and 12) who LOVED the virgin sangria. We all gave that a 10. Favorites were the brussels sprouts, monkfish, gambas al ajillo. We didn't find the Fideua to be tasty at all - didn't have much flavor and was listed as one of the best things on the menu. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun place to dine.
We have been there several times, never disappointing. go there on Thursday or Saturday when the Flamenco dancers are there, its nice. its packed but still very nice.
Food and service are excellent.
If you want the tasting menu, this needs to be reserve by phone in advance.
The food was REALLY good and unique presentation for many of the tapas. Make sure to see the flamenco show, very entertaining. The place was LOUD....and the music kinda of gives you a break from all the human noise. Sangria goes down way to easily, we had two pitchers at our table of 4, one white and one red. Two hours went by before we knew it. My only complaint (other than the boisterous chatter) would be they try to cram too many people in there. I get it, NYC has limited space but the waiters kept bumping into me (I even got elbowed in the head) as they tried to reach the inside tables. Take a row of tables out and not only will it be more comfortable for your patrons, it will reduce the noise level.
We had an excellent experience here at Nai Tapas! Went to celebrate my birthday with a group of friends and did the Chefs tasting menu. (Need to tell them ahead of time with a head count, but worth it!) The food was excellent and the drink pairings were on point! The staff was wonderful, especially Raul! And they had music with flamenco dancers...so fun! We will definitely be coming back!
Amazing tapas! We ordered the sea bass aka tostada de cubina, patatas alioli, tabla de jamon, gambas al ajilo, croquetas de pollo. The sea bass was the winner of course, followed by the gambas. They had a meat plate which was also good. Will definitely be back for the Saturday flamenco and to try the other dishes!
Four of us came for dinner. We all love foods and flamenco show!
We ordered three pitchers of sangria. Two red and one blueberry/champagne. Both sangria were so goooood!
Must order sangria!
My favorite tapas were fried sardine and potato with alioli! I felt like I was in Malaga! Sardine was so fresh and juicy! I'm also big fan of alioli source! Alioli was all over the potato and so yum!
Must try them!
The service was also good! Waitress was quickly responded and full attention to our request.
My friend also love this restaurant and we all come back again🙌🏻
