Good food, good service and a great atmosphere. Enjoyable place to celebrate.
Amazing food. A bit noisy towards the end due to a loud party. Still... great experience.
Had a great time celebrating my daughter's 21st birthday! The food was phenomenal! It's been a while since I've been here and I'm so glad we came. It's seems like this place has innovated their menu. I was impressed with the Ceviche sampler platter and the Raosted corn fundido (melted cheese on sweet roasted corn). The Shrimp Adobo is to die for and and the Brazilian Gauchos is so flavorful and tender; every bite was just delicious! The mango margarita was great but their Mangonada Paloma is a must have if you like the sweeter and fresher side.
Dancing was ok but the DJ keeps mixing the music making a nice reggaeton into electronic, which ruins the beauty of a nice song. It's ok to remix salsa and bachata but to a certain degree. Just my thought.....
Overall, it was a great time and my daughter had a wonderful 21st! She still brags about it. Thank you to all the nice staff. They are very courteous, very professional, and very knowledgeable on their menu.
We arrived by 6:30 pm & there were hardly any tables filled in the dinning room (it did fill up after a bit). We started with a variety of cocktails which all tasted good but were mostly ice & took a long time to arrive. We started with empanadas & corn fundito which were both delicious but there was a long wait between the two appetizers. We shared the chimichurri filet & crispy potatoes which was delicious but took a super long time to come. They did apologize for the delay in service (over 2 hours & 45 minutes for dinner) & offered us a complementary dessert. We had the flourless chocolate cake & churros which we both enjoyed. The coffee I ordered to have with my dessert came after the dessert was eaten. The food was very good but the service was terribly slow & inattentive. We probably will not return.
The music on a Saturday night was amazing. The drinks and food were so expensive though! Will come back to dance after I have gone predrinking.
neighbor hood spot that i’ve passed
by many times and decided to try.
ordered prefix dinner and selection
was good and fairly priced.
best items gauc , chips and salsa.
believe it or not caesar kale salad,
shrimp dish, skirt stake (yummy)
and for sure chocolate mouse is
service was terrific.
Food and music were great
We had a great time, our server was great she helped us with the menu. The mojito was great,we will be back.
Hadn’t been for a while. The present menu is extremely limited. The ambiance seems much more casual and the music choice was very strange for a “Latin” restaurant. We were the only people eating in the dinning room for the first 45 minutes of the evening and yet, service was slow, inattentive and it took a long time for the food come out.
The food was great and our server was astounding. Friends and I ordered the pre fix menu ! A lot of food and great for the price!
We love the ceviche!! And the gaucho shrimp and scallops were grilled to perfection.
Great service, steaks and entrees were delicious.
Tried 4 speciality cocktails. All weird. Food was mediocre.
Moving to Chicago celebration. Food was amazing.
The food and drinks are pretty good. The music was also good.
Nacional 27 is the place for great food, ambiance and Latin flavor. The place reminds you of vacation. Servers, drinks and music are all on point.
My experience was horrible from the moment we sat down. The appetizers were good but my entree was not seasoned well. Plus I was forced to order the same meal as the others at my table.
The service was despicable and most of the food wasn’t good at all. Our orders weren’t taken in a timely manner and the lights were turned off at 11pm for dancing so we had to eat in the dark.
Definitely not value for money. Bad drink, nothing special about the food and bad service. Rude staffs. I usually try not to give negative remarks but this is thoroughly disappointing.
Food and service were excellent, especially the corn fundido appetizer, the grilled salmon, and the pork shoulder (spicy!). The drinks are yummy, though the red sangria tasted like fruit juice - any wine that might have been in it was completely undetectable. The atmosphere is noisy and fun, with latin music and a party atmosphere.
However, we were very put off by N27's reservation policy. When they called the day before to confirm our reservation, I was told we could only have the table for 2 hours - strictly enforced. The individual who called was adamant that we would not be able to keep our table for more than 2 hours because of the need to set up the dance floor. Our reservation was at 7:15 pm and dancing does not begin until 11:00 pm, so the pre-emptive enforcement of this policy seemed like overkill - especially since our party continued to order food and drinks the entire time we were there.
We were seated at a built-in booth slightly elevated above the dance floor area, meaning that the table wasn't going anywhere and would not have to be cleared to permit set-up for dancing. There were empty tables the entire time we were there, and our friendly server kept telling us to "stay as long as we liked," so the inconsistency was irritating. While the food was great, I won't be back unless the 2-hr time limitation policy is eliminated.
Service was great. Food was delicious. Thank you so much! We was celebrating my sister bachelorette. We were a big group and service was wonderful. Thank you. Location was Perfect. It was our 1st time there.
Drinks were fantastic & the $39.99 pre-fixed dinner is highly recommended. You will be stuffed with a fabulous array of appetizers and creative food.
I shall return soon!
Wonderful food, great environment and fantastic service!
We have been coming here for many many years and it just seems like the place continues to shrink to a shell of its former self the menu is too sparse not enough choices it just isn’t the place that used to be and that is unfortunate
Really good music and delicious food. The service was great.
We had dined at Nacional 27 many years ago and it was the best dining experience ever.
This time was no exception. We choose the special 3-course dinner and everything was amazing. The food was fresh and the favors of each item were wonderful. This was a special evening that we were celebrating and going to the theater after. My only regret that the food was so plentiful, I didn't have room for dessert!
The service was horrible and rude. I would not return.
Creative menu. Food was outstanding. Service very good. Only complaint would be it was very loud (music over the speakers) and made for challenging conversation.
The food it really good, but I think it's slightly over priced. Must get the plantain croquetas! Also the steak as amazing and their version of moscow mule is also a must try!
The server and staff were very pleasant and friendly
I went with a few friends for restaurant week and salsa night. The food was great and our waitress was very kind. The dancing was a full hour class and lots of fun! I would go again on a Havana night, it appeared to be a better deal than the restaurant week!
We visited on a Friday and the first day of Chicago Resturant Week and surprisingly it wasn’t crowded. Everything was great, except our server. The bbq lamb taco was for die for.
We have never been to this restaurant before and were pleasantly surprised by the
excellent service, and delicious food. We had the $39 price fixed menu that had a
wonderful selection of appetizers and main courses. I'd definitely recommend this
restaurant to a friend and will plan on going back myself. Good value for the money.
Amazing . Great ambience
Outstanding overall!!! Great food, service and ambiance from start to finish!!! My expectations where high but I have to say, the food and customer service were way above my expectations. Thank you very much and I will definitely be recommending this restaurant to business partners, family, friends and anyone who asks what I recommend in Chicago.
Great services, great food. Free dancing. Great experience
We chose Nacional27 to celebrate a Birthday. We worked with the restaurant's special events directors, all of whom were wonderful and accommodating. Our group of 9 reserved a table at 9pm for dinner, which included a group menu that was fabulous, (shrimp and scallops and veggies on large skewers, salmon with salsa verde, chips and guac, veggies, spicy potatoes, shrimp adobo with coconut rice, etc.), and we were able to keep the table for the dancing portion of the evening. Some of our group couldn't join until later, and the staff was able to add them to a guest list and allow them to skip the line. Thank you to Nacional27 for a wonderful evening. The only thing that would have made it better (a suggestion) is if they offered a dessert on the house, since they knew it was a birthday celebration. Those are the kinds of things that make moments magical and memorable. So, if you're celebrating something special, you'll likely have to mention or ask.
The food was just mediocre. Also, we sent back one of the dishes because it was completely dry. It would've been nice if the waitress said anything or had asked how our meal was.
I had been here a couple years ago and the food was phenomenal. This recent visit makes me very unlikely to return.
Food was very good especially items on the starter and tapas lists. Loved the mini lamb tacos. The signature drink made with thyme was delicious and fun (see photo). Our server was excellent. The negative was that we were initially seated on the second tier surrounding the dance floor. We asked to move to a booth on the main level because the chairs are hard and uncomfortable and the carpeting in the area is worn, dirty and needs replacing. The tile on the main floor is dirty, as well. It had awful grout and even an old flattened wad of gum. I can’t imagine how the dining area would look with the lights up. Shame on Lettuce Entertain You for not keeping up the facility!
