Discover Stadionbuurt
Though the 1928 Olympic Games were held in Stadionbuurt—and you can still see the stadium—that’s not what inspired the area’s name. It was actually named after the National Stadium, built in 1914. A nice example of Amsterdam’s ecological ingenuity is beautiful Schinkeleilanden park, which has a uniquely harmonious and natural design, and is perfect for bike rides and sunny strolls. This suburban neighborhood is very popular amongst expats, who make up a large part of its population, so there’s good variety in the dining options available here.
