MYTHOS is an authentic Greek restaurant in Buffalo. The environment inside the restaurant feels like a family home. It is comfortable, casual and very friendly no matter if it's your first or fifth time eating there. At this restaurant, you can order breakfast at any time of the day, or you can come for lunch, dinner or weekend brunch. Special menus are created and changed frequently, so you might find a few new dishes on the menu each time you visit MYTHOS.
Everything that the MYTHOS chefs cook and serve is fresh and delicious. There are Greek salads, soups, wraps, burgers, pastas, steak and poultry made in a variety of unique ways. Try the fantastic Athenian stuffed chicken, the Cretan braised lamb shank or the pork loin back ribs. If you would like a cocktail with your meal, you can order many popular drinks from the bar.
Excellent service, wonderful food, and lovely ambience.
Went for brunch on Sunday. Food was delicious and so many choices! It was noisy but I enjoyed the energy of the other diners on a beautiful Spring morning.
I made a reservation for 10 for brunch, and when we arrived we were informed that Mythos does not usually accept reservations for Sunday brunches, but since we did it through open table it "snuck" through. It was very odd, as I made the reservation without issue; if the restaurant does not accept reservations on a Sunday, perhaps they should have closed out their availability? We were not seated for over a half hour past the reservation time. One member of our party did not get his meal until 45 minutes after everyone else, and I am pretty sure he would not have gotten his food if he did not ask for it a third time. When our bill arrived we were charged for an extra breakfast and coffee. The only positive experience we had was that our waitress was very friendly. The food was fine, but with that kind of experience I am in no rush to go back.
Mythos is a good Greek-style coffee shop/restaurant where I have eaten many times. I noticed recently that they were on Open Table and made a reservation for a Sunday at lunch time, when I know they are busy. When I arrived and told the waitress I had a reservation via Open Table, she said: "oh, we're not using Open Table today," with the result that I had to wait with everyone else even though I had a reservation. So if you make a reservation using Open Table, don't assume they will honor it.
Only wine/beer, no liquor, so we ordered a bottle of wine. Expectations weren't too high to start, but the wine was very sweet and syrupy. Stick to beer. Had the lamb shank - usually my favorite dish. The lamb was perfectly cooked - fall off the bone - quality, but the sauce it was cooked in wasn't as flavorful. Took the rest home - the portions are large! - and doctored up for better result. Friend had one of the specials dish - cioppino like meal that was OK. Service was nice.
I went there with my husband and got an excellent service. Both of our dishes were very tasty. Our waitress was super cool. Keep it up!
Mythos is mostly American but has a number of Greek dishes on the menu. I like the lamb chops. Well marinated and flavorful, and very fairly priced. Accompanying rice was also delicious, and the Greek salad that also came was bountiful but more or less averages. Companion had an excellent chicken and beef mixed grill.
Would go back.
The place was great: food was excellent, atmosphere great, and reserving through Open Table cut our wait time from almost 2 hours, to about 15 minutes. The only issue was the cold. It was so cold inside, that we had to wear our coats...
the service is always excellent at Mythos and they cater to any dietary requests, fun holiday decorations
the beef souvlaki wrap was great as was my side of home fries and the pita bruschetta appetizer, but our waitress was almost non-existent. Never came back to fill us up for water and did not indicate any options of sides we can choose from for entrees even though it was indicated on the menu which led to me having to flag her down to give our selections. Good outdoor view for elmwood people watching though.
