Mystic Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
They over cooked our steaks. We never received our crab oscar. They couldn't remake our steaks because all the kitchen staff was gone. My boyfriend didn't eat one bite while I played in my food. The server was nice but forgetful. They comp our meal but dinner was kind of ruined. It just sucked because I raved about the crab oscar and steak. I know he will never come back but maybe I will one day
We were going for a special date and this was a complete let down. Made a reservation and got a horrible table. It was loud and there was even kids playing around the restaurant. Staff, including managers, were personally talking to friends all around us, the whole ambiance was ruined. Seak was cooked perfect but all other sides were cold. Next time we will celebrate at a different restsurant.
Food is never disappointing. I really like the atmosphere and the decor of the restaurant. It can be quite loud though. Unfortunately the service was slow, our waitress didn’t check on us once the food was served. We needed refills on wine but she never came, we wanted to order dessert but had to skip it because of the slowness of the service this night and we needed to attend a show. I’d go back but definitely not on a Friday and only if I didn’t have time limitation. We planned on 1 hr and 30 minutes (because of the show) but it was not enough time. Again, if you don’t have any limit with the time you have to spend there, it’s a great place.
We had a reservation for a group of 6. We were promptly seated, ordered the dinner for 2 special (salad, 16 oz. sirloin, side, & dessert). The entire meal was delicious and the seasoning on the sirloin was amazing! The only thing that caught us by surprise was the automatic gratuity that was added to each bill (3 couples with 3 receipts). We had excellent service so we were planning to tip our waiter well but in my opinion should not automatically being added for a group of 6. Otherwise everything about our experience was great and we would definitely dine there again.
Salads are now a la carte. The au gratin potatoes which used to be the very best are now called scalloped and were over-cooked and not the same as in the past. The deep fried shrimp was delicious. Because of these points, I no longer feel compelled to come to this steakhouse.
Let me start by saying, the food was delicious! The service however was horrible!!!!!
We were a party of eight celebrating a Birthday. Although it was restaurant week and a creative 3 course meal was part of the offering as a special for restaurant week, only a few of our party ordered from that menu. The rest of the party ordered from the regular menu ordering full meals with starters, salads & entrees. None of the food or cocktails came out in a timely fashion, a few people received salad, only for there to be a huge gap in time before entree's were put down. The first course options for the guests ordering from the course menu hadn't received there starters before their entrees were delivered. 2 of the entrees were sent back because they looked and tasted as though they had been sitting under a heat lamp for far too long. We had to continually ask for the things that should have been automatic, i.e. starters before entrees, water, cocktails, dirty dishes to be removed etc. While sitting in a seemingly upscale environment I do not want to flag anyone down to spend more money, and for the most part our server was no where in site. The server even took the course meal dessert orders from the guests at the beginning of the ordering process and then at the end of the meal we were told they were out of the dessert they had ordered almost 2 hours earlier. Following dinner we expressed our need to leave the restaurant in a timely fashion and then our server proceeded to lean on a partition and chat with the guest seated next to us about an animal rescue service. I am not unsympathetic to rescue services, however it was 20 minutes before we received our tabs after letting her know we were ready to leave in an expeditious manner. Our server was not attentive at all! Probably because she already had a built in tip for parties of 5 or more which she happily pointed out when she finally gave us out bill.
Over all experience was a huge fail.
We started out with a French Martini and a Pink Lady Slipper both were very good. The calamari and bacon appetizers were awesome. Three of us had excellent steaks all cooked to our liking. The Parmesan Scallops were also a winner. Our waiter forgot that we had ordered Merlot to go with our meal but after the martinis we were all Ok without the wine. This will be our go to place when we want to celebrate something special.
The braised short ribs were fantastic. Only complaint would be the cauliflower served with the swordfish. Not very tasty - would have preferred it cooked a bit more or even a cauliflower mash would have been better. Perhaps serving the fish with a wild rice blend would be nice. Overall, we enjoyed the experience.
We've been patrons of the Mystic Lake Steakhouse for years. Never had a bad meal there. The menu changes often enough that there is always something new to choose from. The steaks and seafood are of high quality. The salads, soups and sides are a cut above the rest. The chefs are always inventing something new and different, but always tasty. The atmosphere is friendly and romantic. My husband had a 7 oz filet with a 9 oz lobster tail at our last visit. So good when food is cooked right. I had shrimp scampi and a 9 oz lobster tail for a birthday meal. Absolutely perfect! Jumbo sized shrimp cooked perfectly with just a small portion of angel hair and bright green beans cooked just right. Sitting in a nice large booth and getting pampering service made the occasion memorable.
The server seemed rushed and inconvenienced, when our food was delivered it was placed in front of the wrong person, and the delivering server couldn't tell us what it was, but eventually we figured it out. The martini's were half way full, but over $10 dollars per drink. The food was pretty good, but nothing I would come back for.
