Mystic Fish Ratings and Reviews
Our group of three couples went to Mystic Fish for my husband’s birthday. It was a weeknight so not crowded or noisy. Service was perfect from start to finish. Each couple ordered an appetizer which were delicious. Roasted beet salad, calamari, and pot stickers. Each entree was so good. The chefs preparation sea scallops, shrimp and pasta, and salmon. My husband was presented with a lovely dessert plate with candle. Several of us also ordered a dessert. Everything was perfect. Another memorable evening at Mystic Fish!
Mystic Fish always comes through with fine food and good service. However this time there was a mistake made by the waitress who brought a different bottle of Cabernet than what we ordered, did not identify it at the time of service, and was only discovered when the bill was presented (more expensive). Then when a manager (?) came to discuss the problem, she insisted we “accepted” the wine. Sorry, we accepted what was served as what we ordered. It was uncomfortable to be challenged, but eventually the bill was corrected. First time to be disappointed at Mystic Fish.
Still the champion. 15+ years, this is still the best restaurant in the Tampa Bay area. I have been there scores of times and never had anything but an excellent meal, and I am quite fussy. I marvel at their consistent excellence.
The grilled octopus is to die for. I have had grilled octopus in many differs places...none is anywhere near as good!
Food, wine, atmosphere and service were all excellent. Really delish food, but the portions were very small. We were given one dinner roll each, the salad was served on a plate the size of a saucer. I received about a 1/4 cup of rice with my fish, and the dessert was tiny. Excellent food but, left there still hungry.
Service & food was so awesome..
Took my Hubby for the first time and ( he hates new places ) he loved it !!
Prices are not low but worth every penny and signature drinks very reasonable .
Stayed at the bar after and cozy small area in back was friendly and bartender great
This is a consistently pleasing seafood venue because the Kitchen Staff cares about preparation and ingredients. Well, maybe not the potato chip in the mashed potatos but everything else speaks to Management staying vigilant. The only part I can mildly rebuke is that the host staff that seats us is running out of room for quiet spots as my wife's birthday dinner on Nov.21 at 6pm was opposite a long table of not so quiet seniors. It was a Tuesday. Clearly, the establishment can't just build an addition here for party rooms, etc. but quiet conversations are becoming rare here. Our server was very understanding of my wife's palate and even brought a low key dessert sampler with a candle. So,by all means,if you have yet to come, don't hesitate but be prepared for a full house even on a Tuesday. It's that good and has been for a lot of years.
As usual, the food was spectacular! The scallops and sauce unbeatable. Creative cuisine, pleasant staff, so clean and cozy. Not pricey for the entire meal. Reservations a must during the season. A special place for special people who like nice atmosphere and exquisite food.
This restaurant is a real jewel. We go there frequently and have never been disappointed. This time I had the Bison steak which was fantastic. Our server, April was very friendly and efficient. Her knowledge of the menu items and their preparation was very impressive.
