Mystic Fish Ratings and Reviews
Oysters were served without any accompaniments (sauces; waitress never asked either).
Salad arrived with dressing (not on side as requested).
Cauliflower was covered with some sort of sauce.
Desserts were not good (out of 3, 2 were terrible!)
Coffees and teas were cold.
Will not return!!
We had the BEST waitress! Hands down! Her name was Megan and she was excellent. We loved out selections; she helped us with some confusion on that, too. And since we were celebrating birthdays we had some of your desserts. They were terrific. We have all been there before, but she made it a really fun evening!
I think we over tipped our waiter. We didn't get a receipt after paying for our meal with a $100. gift card. He said we couldn't tip using a gift card so we left a tip on the table. When we got to the car, I told my husband the math doesn't add up. I don't exactly recall the exact bill but I know it was low $40.00 yet he said we had I think $36.00 left on the gift card. My husband went back in but it was very crowed and couldn't find the waiter. I personally think he took out a tip on our gift card and didn't tell us which is why he didn't give us a receipt.
We are there once a week as it is convenient to our home ,the food is good and the service is very good..however the menu on fri needs more variety..do the shrimp and the sa lmon a different way, offer meat loaf.do something beside string beans..we enjoy the ambiance and the personal and will continue to come..
We dine here often, but this was an 84th birthday party of 8, with people arriving all at different times, and staff was very accommodating, despite our group having presented them a number of challenges. This is first class service, and we appreciate it. Melissa was our server and she was fantastic. The food was excellent, and well timed. I rarely give 5 stars, this was 5 plus. Mystic Fish is one of the best, and most consistent restaurants in the area. Well done, and thank you.
It's easy to write a review for Mystic Fish, as it is always consistently excellent. Great food and drink, good staff, nice ambiance. My wife and I visit Oldsmar (adjoins Palm Harbor) several times a year and Mystic Fish is one of the three places that we always go back to. We know we can count on them to deliver a great evening -- even when we can't get in for the early bird special. And, after our our dinner experience there last week (with our friends who came in to town and specifically asked that we go to there (they went with us last year)), we know we will be going back again soon.
Food was fantastic best meal I have had in months. Had a 7pm reservation and they sat us promptly. Server took good care of us keep our drinks full and brought us a delicious meal without a long wait . Can’t say enough about the food service and the overall dining experience.
On Jan.2nd, 2018 our party of 4 had dinner with wine. Our waiter was so bad , his service so bad nobody in our party could finish there dinner. We all walked out.
The service absolutely Sucked.
The manager/owner picked up the bill on this one. Tom was our waiter , "Beware" !
We should have gone to , BoneFish .
This local boy will not go back.
Palm Harbor. P.S. way overrated.
Fast, knowledgeable and attentive service (Greg); terrific apps (calimare and grilled octopus);
delicious lobster bisque and wonderful salads; mains were mixed as the sea bass was firm, flaky, large in portion and delectable but the snapper was bland, overly breaded and just OK.
Desserts were yummy. Wine list wasn't the best but adequate and prices were reasonable (need more Sauvignon Blancs).
Definitely recommend Mystic Fish and will be back,
First time we ate at Mystic Fish. Place is smaller than a Bonefish but feels more cozy. Wait staff was ok but our server could have been more attentive to refills. I ordered scallops and they were some of the best scallops (with sauce) I have ever had. Highly recommend. My daughter had scallops and shrimp on linguine. While the seafood was good, the pasta had a truffle infusion that was overpowering. We mentioned to the manager but nothing more done about it. Should have said something at beginning of meal. Small deserts were very cool. The descriptions were a bit off. Highly recommend the chocolate pot de crème. More like a chocolate mousse. Very tasty.
Again, our entire meal was superb. It's always great to know that your favorite fish will be on the night's menu (sea bass or hog fish). The shrimp appetizer was perfectly grilled. The pear martini was unique and perfect for the occassion. My chocolate martini was exactly prepared to my specifications. Looking forward to my next meal there, probably our anniversary in January.
Food is always wonderful. Service is conscientious And attentive.Ambience is always veryRomantic even when they have large groups. They have an extensive wine list and I always get one of their special martinis. If you are celebrating a special occasion and then they always give you a free dessert. It is one of our favorite restaurants!
