Myron's Prime Steak House Ratings and Reviews
I saw the mixed reviews before I made a reservation and thought about going elsewhere. But, we have gone to Myron's for our anniversary since we were married. I do think it has slipped somewhat. The food was very good. We ordered Chateaubriand medium rare. It was really rare but tasty and tender. The Myronaise Potatoes and Steamed Spinach were good. The salad was mixed, my wife's was much larger than mine but not well presented. Service was good but not attentive. For example, the waiter poured the first glasses of wine but did not check back to refill the glasses. We will probably go back next year but I hope management focuses on improving quality and consistency.
First time dining at Myron’s since moving to New Braunfels from DFW. Initially impressed with the ambiance of the main dining area but we were seated in a “back” room with no ambiance. It’s an old building and smelled dank in the back room where we dined. Food is good but not great. Our service was very good. Overall we much prefer Macadoo’s next door.
Server, Did not explain specials. Did not ask if this was a special occasion (my birthday). Did not check on drink refills. Forgot one of our sides (baked tomatoes) got it over half way of our meal. Did not clean our table off after meal. (Someone else did)
Food was very good. Service was really poor at our table. Other tables seemed to be getting better service.

Fantastic!!! We love Myron's and have been going here for special occasions since we moved to the area 4 years ago, but Saturday night was exceptional. My husband had the bone-in ribeye and I had the bone-in filet, both were cooked perfectly and incredibly tender.
Just keep in mind, it's Myron's PRIME Steakhouse. I would not classify this as budget friendly, everyday dining. It is white table cloth, special occasion dining and it is very easy to spend $75+ per person, but it is well worth it for birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
Food was very good however our waiterdisappeared after we ordered. Never refilled tea glasses and we were almost done when we had to ask for the bread he promised. I watch the waitress present the desserts at the next table and wanted them all. Our server brought the trey over and named them. Otherwise our meal was excellent
My steak was dry and over charred. My salad had no flavor and my lobster was rubbery. The shrimp Myron was the only thing I enjoyed all night. I came here for my 3rd anniversary and it was a horrible experience. Neither me nor my husband will ever return and will never recommend it to anyone.
My first visit to this restaurant and it will be my last. I feel as though the waiter made my experience the worst. No mention of any specials, no help when i asked to recommend a bottle of wine and just overall a total "order taker" that wanted to clock out for the night . Oh, and i didnt even know the restaurant served dessert until i was walking out and saw the dessert tray, no thanks again to the awful service.
We were seated in an area that was behind the bar away from the main dining area so maybe thats why we were forgotten most of the time. We had to request everything from drink refills to more bread. The menu is pretty limited to huge slabs of meat and sides that have to be ordered separately and are served family style. The prices are very high our table of four was over $300.
I've always wanted to try Myron's. My girlfriend and I make steaks just about every week. I was excited to see how our steaks compare to a high end steak restaurant. I was actually disappointed in the steak itself. We ordered medium rare and received rare. That wasn't that big of a deal since we can go either way. I have no idea how a rare steak can taste dry, but it did. We had to add seasoning even after asking for extra to be cooked on it. It was not worth the money or the drive we took to New Braunfels from San Antonio. We will not return.
My husband and I and our two boys (8&9) made a reservation on Open Table after leaving the Majestic Theater in Austin. We arrived on time for our reservation and we were seated promptly. Our waitress who didn't have children was patient and helpful in our ordering for our kids. We were served promptly and our meal was amazing. We've eaten here a ton of times for date night but it was a first with our kids. We weren't disappointed and will keep this gem in our pocket for special occasions for our entire family.
My daughter and I took my husband out for his birthday. I would go just for the creamed spinach, but the ribeye steaks and my daughter's mixed grill were fantastic, as always. The Myron's salad was perfect for 2 to share and the au gratin potatoes are quintessential comfort food. There was also a discrete, elaborate desert on the house for the birthday boy - no embarrassing song or scene.
Food is outstanding. Stuffed mushrooms and scallops for appetizers were cooked to perfection. All steaks melt in your mouth. Great, attentive service. It is very pricey so get ready but we had a great special birthday dinner. The building is historic and made of rock. It was not crowded for our Wed night dinner but not sure what the noise level would be on a weekend.
