Great bread. Nice ambiance. Nice Syrah. The eggplant mousse was good when supplemented with feta from the salad. We enjoyed the spanakopita, which was light and not too greasy. The shrimp skewer had 2 old pieces of shrimp and one fresh piece. The waiter ignored us forever even though the restaurant was quiet and had to be flagged down for the bill. Will return for appetizers and wine but will skip the entrées.
We've been coming to Mykonos for years. This past visit was a little different. We had a 7:15 reservation and we were seated about 7:30. That's ok. We had a new waiter who was trying very hard and was a nice man but he has a few kinks to work out. The restaurant was very busy and in our room there was a party of about 20 people. We had to ask the bus boy to close a window beside our table because one in our party of 4 was very cold. He did and he was very attentive to us. The waiter was over whelmed but he did sing happy birthday to me.
Food was fabulous, but the staff seemed overwhelmed. Took at least half an hour to take our order. Server who finally took our order acted like he was doing us a favor. We never got the appetizer we ordered. I will go back but not on a Saturday night.
We had a new waiter who made a couple mistakes but perfectly fine. He was attentive. Our appetizers were excellent but I cannot say the same for the entree. First of all who serves CAN green beans or Frozen vegetables ?? The shrimp was ok but I would not order again. I was there in the spring and had a delicious meal so I brought my family to try and we were not impressed. I love that it is a family business and I like to support locals but not sure I’ll go back. It is too expensive to go out to eat and not have great food.
Jason sure knows how to treat us right. The lamb shank and the halibut we're out of this world! The wine recommendations were spot on. We'll be back!
The waiter did not come back to our table often and while we had a reservation at 5pm, it seemed that the more it got busy, the less we saw the waiter. At one point, I waived my hand at our table even having a glass mirror behind me and I was trying to get another waiters attention and he physically looked at me and my wife and Friend's witnessed him looking at us and then I lowered my hand and then the waiter left the area without coming over to me to see what I wanted. I got up about 5 minutes later and got that other waiters attention and told him how I felt and still have not noticed the original waiter and after I told him he then started to talk about me at one of his tables. Seriously. Good food and the owner was not there that night Saturday 10/12/19. When the cats away... May not go back
average food great waiter
Too pricey, considering location and competition with great restaurants nearby, this restaurant needs to price food more reasonable!
We were in a hurry to catch a movie and Jasons got us in and out in time. The food is always delicious. We like it because they treat us like family
I recently met a friend for lunch at Mykonos and we both had a lovely experience. Our very attentive waiter brought us freshly baked bread, which was still warm from the oven, accompanied by a bottle of olive oil for dipping. I ordered the Mousaka with a side of Greek-style green beans, and my friend ordered the filet kabobs with green beans and potatoes. Both of us agreed that our dishes were very authentic and well-prepared. The filet was tender and cooked to perfection and was dressed with a rich wine sauce. We will definitely schedule a return visit.
Not my favorite place, but not terrible either. The servers were friendly. Older crowed in the restaurant. The food was ok.
Loved this place. Perfect for date night. The food was good, it was a busy night so it wasn't hot when served but overall good.
Never, never go there on a Saturday evening. Way too noisy, and the service is terrible. During the week, it's quite different.
Convenient free garage parking. Very good service. My favorite dish was the Mydia Saganaki P.e.i. mussels steamed in white wine tomato sauce topped with feta cheese. I also liked the Spanakopita, but wasn’t a fan of the Saganaki Flammed pan fried kefalograviera cheese. My Maine’s course was marinated lamb chops served with steamed cauliflower and broccoli. I think it should also be served with rice. The meat was done to my specifications, but the marinate was not sufficiently flavorful.
This is one of my favorite Greek restaurants in the area. It was the perfect choice of restaurants to celebrate my friend's upcoming birthday. We made reservations through OpenTable for 8pm. We arrived 15 minutes early and stood at the hostess stand for 10 minutes before being greeted. The Manager then came over and sat us without asking or acknowledging our reservation. Not sure what was going on but we patiently sat at our table for 35 minutes before anyone ever took our drink order.
Once the waiter arrived, we knew straight away that we were in good hands. He turned what appeared to be a bad experience into what we love about this restaurant. I'm guessing the Manager had a bad night or was not feeling well as we overheard an exchange he had with the table next to us. The guests were politely explaining they had received the wrong drinks. He never apologized but exchanged them. Next, they were confused with the order of their food delivery (app as an entree with salads). He came over once again and this time blamed it on the guests for not telling him how they wanted everything delivered. This was a bit strange especially given the problems they had already experienced. Regardless, none of this is typical for Mykonos. The food is always AMAZING and our waiter reminded me once again, why I enjoy this restaurant so much.
Always a pleasure. I have not had a dish I have not enjoyed. I have always had excellent service. It is a great place for a long dinner with friends and family!
I’ve been going to Mykonos since I was a child, and the quality remains consistently outstanding! I’m loyal to the moussaka, and I also recommend the saganaki as a treat!
Quiet/relaxed inside excellent ambiance & service
I have been a member of OpenTable since it began and this is my first negative review out of thousands of restaurants I have booked through OpenTable. Stated very briefly, I had very poor service. The wait staff effectively ignored my party and me. I will never go there again.
The food was disappointed.
Our favorite restaurant in Rockville. The grilled octopus is consistently the best in this entire area. The lamb shank and grilled lamb chops are fantastic. The service is so warm and welcoming.
We sat outside on the lovely terrace where it is calm and quiet. As always, the food was fresh and delicious and the service was excellent. I’m so glad they are now open on Mondays!
The food was great, but the service awful. We were ignored at the reservation desk for about 10 minutes and once seated it took a half hour before we got a waiter’s attention, who first said he was our server, but then another waiter shows up and asks us if we are ready to order. Did not even ask if we wanted drinks. After the food was brought he did not bother to ask if everything was alright, but comes at the end of the meal and says “no desert?” This unfortunately was not a fluke. We had been at this restaurant before and received the same awful service. We thought that might have been an aberration, so we thought we would try the place again because the food is so good. All we can gather is that they take care of their regulars and ignore everyone else.
It was a nice summer afternoon and we asked to be seated outside. One other party was already seated there. No waiter showed up. I went inside asking for water and bread. Instead I got a speech on how we were not supposed to be seated outside, they were short staffed, etc. Needless to say, it was not a great experience. The food was good as always.
We dined at Mykonos many times and on every occasion we found the food to be exceptional. Usually, I order the bronzino (I recommend it without reservation—best bronzino I’ve ever had), my husband likes their lamb and my mom the salmon fillet. We usually finish with galaktoburito but their baklava is also delicious. The service can be a bit slow depending on how busy they are but the ambiance is nice and the food is finger-licking good so we don’t mind. Just sit back and sip a glass of red Greek wine (try the Hatzimikhalis—spelling?—for something different).
We go to this restaurant a lot and it is consistently good. The service is always wonderful.
There were a lot of waiters, so we didn’t understand the lack of attention. We had to flag someone to bring us menus, flag someone to wrap up our food, and no one checked on whether we needed water refills or more drinks while we were eating. The food was good, but we got the sense that the waiters were too busy and that other patrons were more important than us. Not a good experience for the first time.
Best Greek food in DMV. They never disappoint. I will be back.
Delicious food, and once we got a waiter we were able to place our orders quickly. Took a while to get our entrees, but overall it was a good meal.
We particularly recommend the grilled octopus appetizer, the most tender we have ever had, and the absolutely marvelous lamb shanks! Definitely returning!
This was my first time at this Restaurant. The staff were extremely attentive and the food was excellent.
The main dining room was energetic (because of the popularity of the restaurant) and the noise level was tolerable. I was able to converse with my guest at a normal speaking level.
Pricing was extremely reasonable for the quality and portion size.
One of our most favorite restaurants, Mykonos Grill is like home to us. We love Jason as our server, who always takes good care of us. If we are uncertain of what to order, his recommendations are always perfect. Whether you get fish of any variety or the Lamb Shank, you can't go wrong.
Felt just like Mykonos! Withe xcellent food and friendly, efficient service. Recommended.
We were there for my sons birthday. Food was amazing but service was awful. Our waiter was rude and not friendly to our party. I observed him with other tables and he was very pleasant. While waiting, for the rest of the party, he didn’t ask if we wanted to order drinks/apps while we wait. After getting our food the waiter didn’t ask if we needed anything else or if the food was good. When we were done eating the plates sat in-front of us for about 15 minutes. We were disappointed with our experience there.
I've been going to Mykonos for more than 20 years, and it has never disappointed me. Bext Greek restaurant in Montgomery County.
They gave us a nice quiet table as I requested. The food was excellent. We all enjoyed ourselves.
A treasured Rockville landmark. The food’s always good and it’s a setting that promotes enjoyment and conversation. We had the lamb shank, which was ample, tender, and flavorful. Complemented nicely by the tomato sauce and orzo. They always do fish right, and the moussaka is a standout.
Mykonos is where we go for special occasions as well as for date night. The food is always good and the service is outstanding, I highly recommend Mykonos for any meal.
Great food and staff! Will definitely be back.
Wonderful food and service. It is consistently good over the many years we have been going there.
