About Myers + Chang
Myers + Chang is a funky indie diner setting offering Chef/Owner Joanne Chang and Christopher Myers's very personal interpretation of Chinese, Taiwanese, Thai, and Vietnamese specialties. At Myers + Chang, we focus on sourcing fresh, beautiful, local-when-possible ingredients, using lighter sauces, and giving you either fun and innovative takes on classic dishes, or creating new dishes that stay true to the flavors of the region.
We are inspired by Taiwanese soul food and Southeast Asian street food, all done with a great deal of care. It is a personal, sometimes loose interpretation, to be sure, but our criteria are simple: everything we make must be fresh, delicious, and addictive. We are passionate about sharing our love of this food with you.

Myers + Chang Ratings and Reviews
Everything at Myers and Chang was very good. We loved the hot + sour soup, duck kebabs, bock choy, and pork bao buns. We also got the untraditional scallion pancakes and the Indonesian fried rice and although they weren’t bad we would skip them in the future. I recommend making a reservation, the restaurant was packed. Great service. We will definitely be back and are excited to try the rest of their menu.
I've eaten here several times and the food is always different and always fabulous. We were three adults and 2 children. Three (children and one adult) are vegetarian. There were ample choices, lots of diversity and complexity in the food and friendly, efficient service.
Went to m&c for Chinese New Year get together. The seating was fine. We arrived at our reservation time and were seated quickly. The server was very friendly. Enjoyed the different menus- allergy, vegetarian, and regular menu. As our group was a mix of these different preferences. The food however was not very good. That maybe because our group consisted of people who are very familiar with Asian food. And what we ate was not very authentic for either Indonesian or Chinese. We did enjoy the pork and chive dumplings, scallion pancake, and mussels. Myers and Chang would be a good choice for people not very familiar with Asian food and who want to eat a variety of different foods
The food was AMAZING! Perfect family style portions, so you can try a bite of everything. The restaurant is very lively with a wraparound bar and a great view of the kitchen. While the food was awesome, the service definitely left a lot to be desired. Half of our group of 5 arrived early to grab drinks at the bar before dinner. At the time of our reservation, we were led to a table for 4 (despite telling the hostess several times there were 5 of us), assured they would make it work but then left standing there for several minutes before anyone came with a chair and more place settings. One member of our group was knocked into several times by staff carrying trays of glasses from the kitchen to the bar because of the tight space. Drink and food orders were lost throughout the meal as well. What saved it all was our server, who was amazingly helpful, apologetic, and a lot of fun - he definitely put it a lot of effort to salvage this birthday dinner.
tl;dr The food here is absolutely worth it but staff can be really hit or miss with service.
I brought my girlfriend here for a date and I have to say that the food here is AMAZING, one of the BEST I’ve ever had in my entire life. I came here having high expectations and this place exceeded it overall. I’d recommend a walk on the beach which they serve on “cheap date night” I believe Mondays and Tuesday. This place inspired us. They take simple Asian cuisines and ELEVATE them.
Fantastic service!! The best experience on our Boston trip (and we ate at Pammy’s, Saltie Girl, Island Creek Oyster Bar and Neptune’s). Thoughtful and approachable with tons of positive energy. They personalized our menus based on my reservation notes and made us feel so welcome. Faves were our server Emma, the scallion pancake, brussels sprouts, udon noodles and the duck. Most fun we’ve had a meal in a very long time. Thank you!!!
My wife and I went here for the first time this past Sunday, and we were both very impressed. After living in Asia for 7.5 years, we're always a little reluctant when we see "smart" twists on regional classics, but the group from Myers & Chang do a great job of doing a modern take on dishes without making them unrecognizable. They simply provide some great tweaks here and there, and they get the execution near perfect every time. We're looking forward to our return!
I've been to M+C a few times now and every meal has been fantastic. I like the brunch for a modern twist on dim sum and lots of shareable size plates. Dinner is also great with lots of appetizers to choose from and the full size dinners are not too large. The wok charred mussels, lemony shrimp dumplings and the spicy szechuan cucumbers are a few notable favorites. Service is always good.
I love Myers and Chang. The food is a mix of Chinese, Vietnamese, and Thai, personalized by the amazing inspirations of founder Joanne Chang and executive chef Karen Akunowicz. This is the perfect place to go just for the joy of lemony shrimp dumplings or multi-ethnic wonders like Red Curry Shrimp and Grits. We often go before seeing shows at the Boston Center for the Arts, a few blocks away, and we've been doing this for years. New items pop up on the menu and, yes, a few favorites disappear. There are plenty of options for vegetarians and people with food allergies. The chefs behind our favorite seats at the bar and the wait staff all seem to be having a remarkably good time. You will, too.
We went on the "cheap date night," which was a good choice for the first time going. It allowed us to try different things and was the right amount of food. The favorite was probably the noodles with beef. It's a small restaurant so the tables are on top of each other. You can still have a conversation, but is sometimes hard to hear and hard to track down your server.
I am grateful that they have a gluten-free menu, but it is limited in options. I ordered the gluten-free chicken salad and thought it was average to below-average. The ground chicken had a weird texture and it was too spicy for my taste. The service was good, but I would hesitate to return for the food.
I'm prejudice because this is one of my favorite restaurants in Boston ever since it opened. This meal was no exception. The tea smoked ribs would be part of a last meal, and the dan dan noodles are delicious. Our server remembered my birthday and brought a yummy, fudge-y brownie with a candle in it which was unexpected and super sweet. I love this place.
We went to Myers+Chang for Sunday Dim Sum Brunch for my wife’s birthday weekend, and it was AWESOME! The food was out of this world! Highly recommend the cold spicy Dan Dan noodles, the sweet & sour Brussels sprouts, the ginger scallion bok choy, and Mama Chang’s pork & chive dumplings; they were all outrageously good. I really liked the maple-miso smoked chicken wings - and I usually don’t like anything smoked, and I don’t like chicken wings! The nasi goreng was good, but not as spicy as I’m used to. But, the food was only outdone by the service. Sirae was AMAZING! She took incredible care with our daughter’s ordering as she is gluten free due to celiac. Sirae was attentive and just generally one of the best servers we’ve ever enjoyed working with! She brought my wife a piece of Ashley’s birthday cake with candles for my wife’s birthday; the cake was incredibly delicious! And, she brought a GF dark chocolate mousse for my daughter, which was absolutely decadent! I would recommend the Dim Sum Brunch at Myers+Chang to anyone and everyone! Just outstanding all around!
Definitely a memorable experience. As a party of one, when i first walked in I wasnt sure how this experience would play out. This is a date night hot spot. But i had more time mixing and mingling and the chef station than i think most people on their dates did. The food was creative and thoughtful definitely a Boston winner.
