About Myers + Chang
Myers + Chang is a funky indie diner setting offering Chef/Owner Joanne Chang and Christopher Myers's very personal interpretation of Chinese, Taiwanese, Thai, and Vietnamese specialties. At Myers + Chang, we focus on sourcing fresh, beautiful, local-when-possible ingredients, using lighter sauces, and giving you either fun and innovative takes on classic dishes, or creating new dishes that stay true to the flavors of the region.
We are inspired by Taiwanese soul food and Southeast Asian street food, all done with a great deal of care. It is a personal, sometimes loose interpretation, to be sure, but our criteria are simple: everything we make must be fresh, delicious, and addictive. We are passionate about sharing our love of this food with you.

Myers + Chang Ratings and Reviews
Once again, we had an incredible meal at Myers & Chang--what incredible and creative food. I only have 2 complaints this time. Our server was less than attentive and, at one point, punted our table to another server (to that server's evident surprise). More disappointing (because anyone can get busy) was to find that a 9-oz glass of wine is now $18. I was shocked---I've never seen such an exorbitant glass of wine in any of the restaurants I frequent....sort of insulting! I hope this changes.
This is a terrific restaurant with unusually great food of two cuisines - Chinese mains and non-Chinese desserts. We were treated beautifully for a special (anniversary) occasion. The Cheap Date Night deal was great, and we took advantage of the selections, which were excellent. My only complaint - that would make me think twice about going back - was the noise level, which was very loud, and I didn't care for the punk / alternative music choices.
At first we were a little bit skeptical because the wine/beer list is very limited. It was hard to find a cocktail of choice since the bar is not really a "full bar". However, the one beer & glass of wine sufficed and we chose numerous appetizers as well as we each ordered an entree. The food was very tasty, not so very spicy ( as indicated by the 3 peppers) - an all around delicious assortment of flavors . Well prepared and well presented..
M & C is a fantastic fusion restaurant. The dishes are small plates that are meant to be shared and the food is soooo good. Our favorites include Mama Chang's dumplings, the bowl of muscles with toasted garlic & lemongrass (comes with toasted garlic bread for sopping up the fabulous broth). Also notable are the fried fish tacos, the vegetable spring rolls & the olong noodles..Wow, I want to go back.
YUMMY! The food was delicious, service warm and friendly, and definitely a place to go if you want amazing Asian flavors with a modern twist. One of our dining companions had a food intolerance, and the server patiently walked through the whole menu, pointing out dishes that would align with her diet. A lovely experience!
The attention to our food preferences and allergy related issues was outstanding. When I told our server about my sulfite allergy she came back after consulting with the chef with an entire vegetarian menu that suited me very well. Very enjoyable experience!
Had high hopes based on recommendations but were disappointed. Three of us ordered about 9 items with 2 worth trying again if we ever went back. It was Sunday brunch so we might try the regular menu to see if it was better. Egg rolls - no taste, calamari - soggy, sweet and sour soup - little taste, etc. Thai chicken salad (?) and fried rice were best but neither were outstanding.
We had a new waitress so there was someone watching over her shoulder every minute which was annoying as she was more than capable of doing the job.
I normally never write reviews and if I do they are almost always because I had an outstanding experience so I guess my experience was negative enough to cause me to respond to open table request for feedback.
We had yet another great experience at Myers & Chang. The food is just great! Seriously, it is consistently delicious every time we have been, whether for brunch/lunch/dinner. Someone has trained the staff very well. We love all of the little dishes that are so full of flavor and freshness. Our party of five had a great time and will certainly be back many more times.
I can't wait for my next visit to Myers + Chang. Every time I dine there, I can't wait to go back. The food is downright delicious, besides being creative, fresh and an interesting. Wines are always on the unusual side, but really yummy and well chosen to pair with the menu. Worth the 2 hour drive from home to enjoy a meal there.
I thought the food was really good and we had fun but our waitress did not seem very knowledgeable and she wasn't attentive either. Also, there was a freezing cold vent blowing on us all night. We asked them to turn it down considering we were there on a night when it was about 20 degrees outside but they said "it would take a long time" and never turned it down so we basically froze through the entire meal.
Oh my god. Took a date for dinner Thursday night. We ordered way too much food, which was all ridiculously incredible. Absolutely my favorite spot in the city. Anyone who takes a date to dinner anywhere else is a fool. The meal was the start of literally one of the best nights I have had in my entire night.
I must admit that my daughter and were both disappointed. We love this restaurant and have always had a great experience. This time, we ordered the only vegetarian option on the 'cheap date night' menu and requested a substitute to balance the starch with greens, but were told absolutely not. As a result, we got a table full of carbs...rice, noodles, potatoes, deep fried spring rolls...and not enough protein or greens. We ended up ordering an extra dish and taking home almost everything.
Myers and Chang is one of Boston's great restaurants. They could rest on their laurels as a casual, highly creative pan-Asian treasure. But Joanne Chang and Karen Akunowicz are not into resting on their laurels. They continue to invent surprising new dishes. Since we last visited this restaurant we have long loved, they added, for example, red curry shrimp and grits, smokey and spicy, with the shrimp very lightly battered and fried. The fresh roll now comes sliced like super-sized maki, with a generous portion of special peanut sauce. Classics like the amazing dumplings remain. The service remains prompt and friendly. Sit at the bar if you can and watch the cheerful choreography of preparation. And come back soon because who knows what they will have thought of in the meantime.
