Attended dim sum brunch. Great variety. Rice and Lo main were excellent ( although light on the amount of noodles). Food was quick. Service attentive. Did not feel rushed.
Laura Cadena, our host, was magnificent. She was fun and helpful, and truly made our Special Evening that much more memorable. Thank you, Laura!
great meal both times I've been. interesting selection of very well-made dishes. good, simple drinks from the bar.
Myers + Chang never disappoints. It seems to fit every occasion; I have been here for date nights, a dinner with a vegan friend, and a girl's night where some of the diners were pregnant and couldn't enjoy the cocktails or wine. In all cases, there was something creative and delicious for everyone. Servers and hosts are very professional. The restaurant is always busy and I have always been seated on time and never felt rushed to leave. This place is great - I don't go often enough.
Wanted to visit here for a while - can't believe I waited so long! Food was amazingly fresh and service was Excellent! AND - who knew?! They have PARKING!! It was a Tuesday night but made reservations just in case- so glad we did. Place was packed with at least a dozen waiting to get in!! I have celiac and they have a super gluten-free menu! Highly recommend reservations. If you like Asian food and are a little adventurous, you won't be disappointed !
Rated food 4 stars because the lemony shrimp dumplings were way too lemony, to the point neither of us liked them. Pork dumplings would've been the way to go. Otherwise the other 3 food dishes we ordered were great. They have a small but interesting beer and cocktail list, and the service was very nice and attentive. Definitely a lively hot spot.
The food is just about always good although some dishes really stand out. Staff is consistently friendly and welcoming. Service can be spotty although never poor, just not as attentive as it should be. Perhaps people are spread too thin. The bar has to learn how NOT to pour "short" glasses of wine. Even the waitress joked about it. It just seems cheap especially to returning customers.
Incredible evening from the time I walked in the door. Amazing location sitting at the counter watching my meal as well as all the others being prepared, fabulous service, meticulous attention to detail with my food allergies, delicious food! The whole experience was beyond reproach. This was my first visit and I will be back!
Amazing food and cute atmosphere!!! Can’t wait to go back
Awesome Asian fusion tapas place with great service!!!!
Lively atmosphere and great food. Next time we're in town we are definitely coming back
Always amazing. Incredible food and service. Staff are all tops. This place is consistently outstanding
excellent lunch --I had a noodle and chicken salad
IT WAS AMAZING!
Myers and Chang never disappoints!!! Always delicious with friendly helpful staff. Went last night with two new friends. We all loved it. What a fun night!
Beyond nice service. Super accomodating to vegan requests.
We have been coming to Boston for 20 years and this is one of the best places we have ever eaten. Great food, great drinks, great service
The food is the best Asian/ classic American fusion that I've ever had! The staff and service is impeccable! Looking forward to going back!
Helpful service and amazing dishes at reasonable prices. Lunch is a good time to go for a first visit with a smaller menu.
Food was great. Server didn’t look like she wanted to be there.
I visited this spot two years ago and fell in love. I’m still in love with Myers + Chang. The food is fantastic and the service is wonderful. Beautiful and surprising flavor combinations. Have the dumplings, Brussels sprouts and the salmon. But really you can’t miss with anything on the menu. It’s more fun to order and share plates as a group. Just go!
Food was delicious and service was excellent.
Everything was so delicious! Only downside was the parking. It was street cleaning day and I got a $40 ticket. You know it’s a great meal when you just shrug your shoulders and send your check to the city of Boston.
We came here for our anniversary, myers + chang did everything to make our dinner extra special! Between the customized menu cards and the after dinner champagne. Thank you so much! We will definitely be coming back to try out the rest of the menu.
Great place !!!
Incredible restaurant, highly recommend. Great location in South End
Flavors are creative and delicious. Best dish Wild Boar Dan Dan Noodles
Myers and Chang is a funky, retro diner serving small plates of Asian/Jewish/Southern fusion. It is always packed (really packed) with mostly 20 somethings who enjoy the lively vibe in this well run, eclectic restaurant. The staff is warm, friendly and efficient and the service is intentionally haphazard (food arrives at your table whenever it is finished cooking). The marinated cucumbers are reminiscent of half sour Jewish Deli pickles and the scallion pancakes (while thin) are latke-like and very tasty. The charred bokchoy, udon noodles and Dan Dan noodles were also very yummy. The chicken and waffles were okay ( the waffles had a yummy gingery “syrup” and were truly good, but the chicken wasn’t.) The shrimp and grits were also just okay. The hot and sour soup was good and quite spicy. The prices are reasonable, and it’s fun to share a variety of small plates in such lively surroundings. We all liked this eclectic, casual, noisy, fun restaurant with its reasonable prices and we will be back!
Food was delicious. Subtle and Interesting flavors. Staff friendly and efficient.
Went to Boston for a 5 day vacation. Out of all the meals we had while in Boston my hubby and I say Myers & Chang was the best meal we had. We ordered several dishes and enjoyed each of them. Our favorites were the chicken wings, Mama Chang's pot stickers and the Hakka eggplant (the best eggplant dish ever!). Recommend reservations. Place is noisy. The only real negative is do not place your whole order at once if you want a somewhat leisurely meal. We assumed our waiter understood this but no. At one point we had ALL of our dishes on our table. So we felt somewhat rushed to finish our meal so that they can turnover the table. However, we look forward to dining there again in the future but will pace our ordering.
The restaurant had both positive and negative aspects.
Pluses: Extremely tasty food, especially the unique hot & sour soup, tea smoked pork ribs, bok choi and chocolate cake. Hot food came out freshly cooked, without a chance to cool. Even though the 5:30 reservation restricted us to a high top table, our early arrival enabled normal table height.
Negatives: The beef (short ribs) with broccoli was very salty and the skewered duck pieces were very fatty. Things came out "whenever they were ready," which resulted in rice side dishes delivered long before their associated entrees. Also, the order for scallops, which were delicious, came out after the other three entrees were fully consumed, after the waitress was asked about the order. Noise level was extremely loud.
Came at noon on Sunday for Dim Sum menu. Some items were exceptional, e.g., the Congee the Hot 'n Sour Soup, the Fried Calimari were really, really outstanding. Some were good but nothing out of the ordinary, e.g., the Spring Rolls , Pork Potstickers; Some were a disappointment, e.g, : the Spicy Tofu Taco (lots'a 'Taco', not much filling ), the Mushroom Omelet (overcooked, dry). Not really a strong, diverse Dim Sum menu.
Our dishes came fast and furiously. All were on our table within about 15 minutes, with hardly enough time to eat one before another would get cold. Had the uncomfortable feeling that we were being rushed to promote table turnover.
The staff were friendly and efficient. The noise level, however, was pretty fierce. Given the nearness of outer tables and the 'roar of the crowds', it was difficult to have our two-person conversation. Wouldn't suggest it for a romantic dinner.
Still one of my favorite restaurants in Boston! There are a few dishes we always order, like the sweet and sour brussel sprouts and the haka eggplant, but we tried some new noodle dishes this time around and everything is always so flavorful and delicious.
Dinner here on Saturday night was adventurous and delicious. The scallion pancakes were the best we ever ate. If you like spicy noodles, try dan dan noodles with wild boar. We also recommend the poke salad; the crunchy wheat berries on top add an extra dimension of texture and flavor. All good on the food. On the other hand, the setting is small, crowded, and noisy. We had the bad luck to be seated at the middle table of 3 very closely spaced tables for 2, where we could feel our neighbors' eyes landing on and scrutinizing every dish we ordered. Ditto with ears and conversation. But if you just want to drink and eat very good food, and are not looking for a long, leisurely, or more or less private night out, this is a great place at a very good price point.
The hostess pretty much saved our lives and took our order. Our waitress was nowhere to be found
Food was very good!
Pretty awful. We waited about half an hour for our table, but that was not truly terrible. The food, however, was greasy, drab, ordinary takeout level fare. Quite a letdown from the hype. Some dishes, like the eggplant, were inedible.
The food is impeccable and the waitstaff is incredibly detailed oriented.
