At Muze, our cuisine is approachable, locally sourced and served with an Asian flare. The restaurant offers varied comfortable private event options for your next special occasion.
View Private Dining DetailsThe hostess was snippy so it didn’t start our experience off well. However the food was delicious and our waiter was attentive overall good experience would try again hoping we encounter a different hostess
Menu was a third of what was posted online by the restaurant. Bread put on the table was like a brick. We asked for new bread and they brought an empty basket with w pieces. Very disappointing overall.
A quiet dining experience with good food and service
I have mixed feelings about Muze. It could be a really great restaurant. Set above Washington Channel, it has great views of east Potomac Park. When we visited, the cherry trees were in full bloom and the view was great. Unfortunately, we spent the first hour without food because the kitchen didn't get our server's order ticket. They comped our drinks (~$90), which was a grand gesture. The food was well executed and interesting enough (though nothing truly note worthy). I am close to giving 4 stars. However, there were just too many little things wrong to give the restaurant a high rating: our table was missing napkins for 2 of 4 place settings, we waited fifteen minutes for our table despite having a reservation, the servers used the plates they were serving to push dishes on the table out of the way when serving (despite having ample staff to properly arrange the table before serving). It's extra disappointing because the restaurant clearly has the location and resources to be great...
We ate here several times while staying at the Mandarin Oriental in DC. Servers were kind and professional. They were welcoming and accommodating. Food was very good. Edamame was excellent. Lobster roll was outstanding. Crab soup is amazing. Breakfast buffet was very good but a bit pricey.
We had an early dinner, following a walk around the Tidal Basin to see the cherry blossoms. This hotel is fabulous during this period (March-April) and you can't beat it for its proximity to the Tidal Basin, along with the many memorials nearby (Holocaust, FDR, Jefferson, etc.) I was hoping for a taste of the pan-Asian menu, which I recalled from a previous visit, but during cherry blossom season they offer essentially pub food, along with cherry-themed salads and deserts. Makes complete sense.
Muze is my go-to lunch place when I need to meet people for lunch someplace nice. It's a great place to see the river, the new Wharf, and also the Cherry Blossoms. I had out-of-town family meet me here for lunch, and it never disappoints. Great service (helps that they know me by now, but the point is that they do know me by name). The menu changes fairly frequently, and I love the menu they have right now. My typical order is the green salad topped with salmon. The sesame dressing is DELICIOUS. The service is always gracious. Yeah, it's a little pricey.
Excellent Fusion Menu, Great Service, and Beautiful Views.
Food was just fair to me. Not very flavorful, kind of bland and lacked enough seasonings. Everything else was better than the food. I probably won’t be back.
An excellent experience overall. The hostess had us seated in a cozy area that gave us a semi-private feel. We were greeted by James, our waiter, who went out of his way to find the perfect beverages for each of us. Despite the set menu, we were offered to select from the main menu which we had reviewed prior to our arrival. Chef Sean even made a special effort to ensure our selections met expectations. Later, we were greeted by the Executive Chef to ensure everything was prepared and served timely and as requested. We had the succulent duck breast served on a bed of lentils and crisp basil leaves. Another order was the wonderful lobster tail and the third was an awesome salmon filet. These delicious dishes were followed by the most deliciously decadent desserts. The first was a chocolate cake that completely redefines cake. The other was so beautifully presented, it was almost too prety to eat. A truly wonderful evening and fantastic dinner.
Muze was very good. Was a little surprised when we arrived that they switched dinner to a buffet, which I was looking forward to trying their menu, as I looked at before we arrived. The buffet was delicious, but I still would have preferred to order from their main menu and try their different dishes.
Fabulous location.. Service perfect. Great open space feel yet intimate.
Went with my husband on date night. Food was generally good, not outstanding, for the price.
The restaurant was empty and for good reason. The food was average at best and given the prices, the value was poor!
We arrived at 6 pm early and no wait at all. Were seated at a wonderful table overlooking the Potomac river. The sushi was fresh and fish was cooked to perfection. The wait staff was very attentive. My favorite was the cheesecake, this was definitely not your traditional cheesecake but it was excellent.
The food was excellent but the server seemed a bit distracted. The restaurant wasn’t busy, so it was odd that he wasn’t more attentive.
The food was excellent. The portions were well-sized. The service was top-notch. We highly recommend Muze.
Celebrated my husband's birthday. We were a party of six. Had a wonderful experience. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, not pushy. Knowledgeable about the menu items. The food was served hot and delicious; everyone enjoyed their food. The ambience was great and the rest of the staff was friendly.
My luncheon guest and I had a lovely meal with minimal and unobtrusive service which allowed us to carry on our conversation without interruption. Thank you!
Really enjoyed our visit. Staff were attentive and the food was delicious. We got a free dessert for my husbands birthday.
Excellent views of the Jefferson Memorial and the Potomac River. Beautiful dining room with touches of modern Asian and European decor. The ambiance was quiet enough to have a good conversation. With the little nooks created near each window, we seemed to be secluded and private and I appreciated the ability to talk without being interrupted by other conversations or activity. As the evening turned to night, the car lights passing by added to the beauty of the place. We didn't have to compete with the noise of the cars; it was so quiet and peaceful.
The dishes were presented well--as colorful and laid meticulously on each plate. In terms of flavor and taste, my house salad had the surprising addition of light wonton chips that added a crispy quality to the greens. The main course--a chicken and eggplant curry dish--had a light spicy, hot taste that didn't overpower the basmati rice. The sorbet was beautiful and tasteful with the addition of a mint to the lemon.
Superb service overall. The wait help and server were polite as well as suggestive. Although many couldn't speak English well, they patiently responded to our requests to repeat what had been said and answer our questions. Especially wonderful was the entry to the restaurant. The young professional who greeted us was very warm and full of the aloha spirit. I felt like I was the most important person being seated and found her grace a real touch of class.
Overall, the restaurant was a cut above the many eateries in a city of eateries. The beautiful decor and style of the restaurant truly invited my party in to dine. I never felt rushed or pushed. There was such a easiness and style to both the atmosphere and the service. The food was wonderful, both in terms of look and taste. I would definitely bring a party of friends here to dine when I return back to town.
Absolutely amazing experience! Made more memorable than I imagined!
We've just discovered this treasure after going to the Artechouse gallery nearby. While expensive, it is a great value in a peaceful setting. The food is creatively done especially the desserts.
good food and consistently excellent, attentive service. A great spot for a sit down meal where there are few good options in this part of the city - not too far from museums and monuments. i would definitely recommend Muze for a business lunch, or just a good, classy meal in the city.
Retirement
The service was very attentive and gave us plenty of time for a leisurely dinner. We had a lovely table with a water view. Good was quiet good. Looking forward to trying breakfast buffet and New Year dinner.
Excellent food and attentive service. The facility and environment were great with fantastic views of the water. Very enjoyable!
I asked for a couple appetizers but they said dont have it at the moment, but the rest was a great experience
It was a pleasure.
My wife and I went here for her 30th Birthday and the food and service was Amazing! 5 starts all day in every aspect! Our server knew the menu well and had great wine recommendations to go along with our meals! Thanks for the great experience Muze!
We had a great experience, everyone was so friendly and made you feel welcome. I was a little worried reading some of the reviews about the pricing, but it seemed normal to me for the d.c. area. The food is not over priced in my opinion, because you are also paying for the ambience and customer service. I did not like the lobster sandwich but everything else was amazing!
Asian Fusion done wrong.
Paid 200 dollars for supermarket sushi.
The Staff at Muze is wonderful! The food is delicious and the staff is friendly and seems genuinely happy to see the guests enjoying the food. We went for Thanksgiving Brunch and it was delicious! Thank you Muze Staff!
What a wonderful find. Excellent service with special touches. Casually elegant environment. Terrific food. Will find reasons to return
It was super overpriced. The food was not that great. The service was great. And the hotel and decor is beautiful. You can get way better food somewhere else for that price
Beautiful view of the harbor and tasty food options, so easy that it was located in my hotel!!
A great culinary experience. Sat at bar. Great interactions with staff and chef. Limited but great cocktails. Good wine. Incredibly well organized kitchen. Every one has a role. Like watching a ballet.
Food quality seems to have declined since our last visit.
The Bento box lunch special was delicious and a good value
Service was great and attentive. It was the weekend so the restaurant was pretty quiet.
Would love to go back again next time I'm in town.
