Musso & Frank Grill
Musso’s is like time-traveling to a bygone era, always a class act with waiters that are legendary.
Bartender Austin also took great care of us while we waited, mixing up great cocktails and suggesting things to try...
I've heard about this LA staple for years and was dying to try it. Unfortunately, both the service and food was not up to par. Lobster cocktail included small chunks drowning in cocktail sauce, rib-eye was so fatty (and I love fat), and veggies were hard / not cut. Service was slow and waiter brought wrong side. Over priced for slow service and mid-level food in my opinion. Wouldn't need to go twice.
The service was great, the noise was impossible to talk over....not energetic Just LOUD!
the food is always good but the portions are excessive....
Back to having amazing service
My parents came in from out of town and the staff bent over backwards to make sure they had a very special night. Peter the maitre d' was especially accommodating and made the experience perfect!
The service overall was great but our server was extraordinary. He had the challenge of dealing with the craziness of a neighboring table of diners who were quite unruly. He did his best to remain calm while making sure we had a delightful time in spite of the chaos. He helped us to another area of the restaurant to finish our meal with coffee and dessert so we could end the night in peace. The food was fine and the ambiance was great, minus the distraction from the one table over. It’s definitely not the place to go for an intimate dinner but if you’re looking to step back in time and experience a tiny glimpse of old hollywood then this is the place. One of the highlights for us were the fantastic martinis. They know how to do them, right down to the extra side carafe in the barrel of ice.
Terrific experience! Being from New Orleans the food was very good, but don't expect it to be the best you've ever had. The service, the ambiance, and the history however, are up there with the best of the best. A real Hollywood experience!
This was my daughter's birthday, and she was the lucky one that got the hair throughout her cheese! This is the second time this has happened to my family, over the last years.
Great food and great service. The atmosphere with the decor and music brings you back to an old glamorous era.
I absolutely love Musso &Franks,I always come for my birthday and Anniversary, Great service, Amazing food and drinks,My favorite place
We do there all the time. The food was not that great and the service was terrible. The manager had to come over and take our order. I question if I want to go back.
Great Grey Goose martini, food, wait staff we’re prefect. Glad to see they have not their touch.
As always Musso and Frank does not disappoint! Food is excellent as well as service . Going back soon !
Between the remodeling going on in the entrance, the volume of other customers, and the dirtiness outside the restaurant, the only positive comment I can make is that the food itself was excellent. Hollywood itself was dirty and unpleasant, and walking on plywood to get into a restaurant of this caliber was unexpected. Even sitting in a cozy little corner of the restaurant it was still so loud I had to lean over to maintain a normal conversation. With that said the food itself was fantastic and I'd still reluctantly reccomend Musso and Frank's to friends and family visiting the area.
we ordered the Rib Eye and pan seared scallops with a side of mashed potatoes that was enough to share! the scallops were amazing!! the rib eye was made medium well to perfection! For drinks I tried the famous martini with a cute lil side car! 💁🏽♀️ Stiff martini considering it was my first but I had to try. we’ll definitely be back!
The food wasn't as good as I remembered I have been coming here for over 50 years and was disappointed in the Friday special.
Would have liked to have been in the first room but even though many tables were empty, we were told they had been reserved. Would have specified when we booked on open table if we knew, then. Otherwise, very good!!!
Fabulous! Would recommend when in HW
Stunning as always.
We were a party of four and had a variety of dishes. Everything was first class. I had the filet mignon, cooked to perfection and delicious.
The food is consistently fabulous and it always feels like a special occasion to go to this historic spot for dinner. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in all of Los Angeles.
There's no better place for old world Hollywood dining than Musso & Frank. The food is amazing, the staff is lovely (especially our server, Boris) always makes me feel like I'm royalty.
I ordered steak tatare and it was tooooo salty. Horrible. I’ve had the same dish in the past and it was excellent. Tat’s Why I ordered it again. Very disappointing. No one’s perfect and mistakes are made. I dine 9/12 at 10:40pm. Whoever the chef was, please let them know. I trust it will not happen again. Please give Leonardo my regards for comping on the meal. He did the right thing. Bob Zahn
If you're looking for loud, lively, old school dining. This is the place. Great steaks, great sides (must try the onion rings) and excellent service. Arrive early to have a drink in the crowded, active bar. Ok to bring in your own wine as their wine list is a bit pricey. It is no wonder Musso & Frank has been in business over 100 years. A LA/Hollywood institution.
It was great. Crowded, noisy and all that but always a great experience.
Service was good
My pork shop was too dry to eat
My husband’s bolognese was fair
Sides were good
The food was well prepared and hearty. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Noise in the dining room was so loud that conversation was difficult.
Some things should never change.....Musso & Frank Grill is one of them. I have eaten here on every occasion growing up in Los Angeles. It was excellent then....it is excellent now!
I heard so much about this place so I was excited to try it out. Unfortunately we must have gone on a bad night for them. The food was just o.k. The shrimp with the mushroom sauce was too thick and lacked flavor. The spaghetti marina was so salty, we drank water non-stop all the way home. The noise level was extreme since we were in the room with the bar. We could hardly hear each other speaking. Sorry, was not impressed. Overpriced too. We ordered a side of spaghetti with the chicken parm and was charged $10 for the salty mess. Overall disappointed. :-(
Absolutely supurb but as expected Celebrated a birthday but have been to Musso's many times over the years. First time was 47 years ago and still great.
Although the restaurant is definitely showing signs of wear, the service is upbeat and the nostalgia alone is worth the visit. Old school food is prepared with a modern day twist.
Had an awesome lunch in a classic Hollywood spot ! Great food, drinks and service 😎
Much more touristy than it was in the past, because of the new Tarantino film... long gone are the days of seeing the cool kids here in vintage attire, or showbiz folk like John Waters, Johnny Depp etc taking meetings here. But it's nice to see it bustling and busy, even if most people dining there are now wearing cargo shorts and crocs. Perhaps we can we get a dress code?? The tourist attire is taking away from the elegant and historic experience so many of us have treasured for all these years.
One of the great American Restaurants, and certainly and absolute must go for anyone visiting Los Angeles.
Food was good. Sand dabs excellent. Ambience nice but service quite slow.
Musso & Frank remain one of the most popular restaurants in LA for good reasons.
Best in all aspects.
The ambiance, the service (especially the fabulous host, a delightful chap, by the name of Peter) the food, the room, the vibe!!!
It remains a landmark and that is why it was used in the film, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.
We feel comfortable there among stars, celebrities, Industry movers and shakers --- and normal folks like ourselves. Just looking for a fun night out, lovely service and yummy food.
I always love having a meal there. Great service and food quality.
Service was impeccable, ambience fair to good. The noise level was almost unbearable. The Ceasar salad was good. The shrimp cocktail the consistency of rubber. The fried oysters were stewing size with a strong flavor and odor. Overall disappointing.
Awesome service all-around: host, waiter, and valets. They all made my family feel welcome and appreciated. The food was amazing. My baked potato was the best I've ever had and the steak was also great. My wife loved her pasta as well. We'll definitely return.
