Musso & Frank Grill
Historic 100 year old Hollywood establishment, still with great food & service.
The place makes you feel like you have gone back in time. The service is great. The place is always busy and a reservation is in order. This is not a place to go if in a rush. The food was tasty, fresh and well prepared.
It is an experience to dine at Musso and Frank Grill. Our party was seated in the second room, which feels like you are dining in a grand hall in Europe. The noise level, however, made it difficult to hear the conversations at our table. The food was quite good, but expensive, as are the drinks. Our party of six was celebrating five birthdays. Each birthday celebrant received a birthday card and a complimentary brownie with ice cream. (I did mention the birthdays when I booked the reservation.) . I thought that this was a most generous gesture. Thank you, Musso and Frank Grill!
Never disappointed when we have a meal at this restaurant!
Packed house but made it to a counter seat. Outstanding service and food!
great old style ambience. Excellent service. Tasty, tender prime rib. Perfect baked potato.
If you’re a Harry Bosch fan you know this is a must in LA. The food and drink outstanding. But the service we got from Jerry our waiter was off the charts great - maybe best I remember. Attentive without being cloying. Informative without being trite. Outstanding
First time visiting this iconic Hollywood landmark. Food and service exceeded my expectation. Sadly noise level is unacceptable. Could barely converse at times. This is an easily correctable problem. Overall experience was decent and will likely be back once additional dining room is opened.
I'm a massive of Chicago aka stockyards aka 30 60 90 day aged beef. 2 of our guests had fillet mignon and this meat was the best I've had in years!
I had sanddab. I couldn't decide between salmon (can eat anytime), trout or the sanddab. Our friendly waiter steered me. I'm so happy i listened. Unbelievably sweet, fresh and clean tasting. The martinis were generous!
Food was excellent along with good service from Miguel. Fun place.
Musso's is always a double treat: first, the food is classic, really dependably truly fine. We had martinis - from the best bar I've ever been to in Los Angeles - and then split a Caesar salad, each had our own New York steak, and split Musso's amazing New York cheesecake.
Second, this one-hundred-year-old restaurant is so evocative in every detail, from the hardwood booths in the front room to the service, of times long ago that it's easy to fantasize suddenly realizing we've been transported to the 1930's (the room we were in didn't become part of the restaurant until 1933). It's just such an old-Hollywood place. None of that would matter much if the food weren't great, but it is, and so Musso's is, and for us always has been, a special treat.
The service here is ALWAYS superb!! So happy to leave with the 100th anniversary book!! I will not order filet mignon in any other restaurant. It is always cooked to perfection. Lobster bisque is amazing and I don’t even care for lobster!! Make sure you go on a Saturday if you want the lobster bisque. Sautéd mushrooms, baked potato with all the fixings....can’t say enough!! Thank you Musso & Frank’s for another exceptional meal!!!
It’s my favorite restaurant ever! I have been coming here since I was a little girl. The ambience, food, drinks, and service is fantastic.
The food took over 45 minutes to arrive. It didn’t arrive together. The hamburgers were overcooked. Children’s food the last to arrive and they were least able to be patient. Some of us were very happy with the classic chiffonade salad and delicious dirty martini
Finally visited this classic spot for Saturday brunch with friends. Great food and impeccable service. We sat on the booth side - and it was quiet and very pleasant. We will definitely be back.
Had the Saturday special of braised rib. It was awesome.
You can't get any more classic Hollywood than Musso & Franks. We were there to celebrate a friend's birthday and everything was perfect. Jonathan, our waiter, was fantastic. He made the occasion so enjoyable and he really was outstanding. The food was delicious, as were the cocktails. Thank you, Musso & Franks, for doing what you do so well.
Make sure to make a reservation. We were there when they opened at 11:00 am and they were full by noon.
It's iconic. A must as a treat - whether you live in, or visit L.A. It's a real night out!
3rd time at this classic legendary steak house with so much history and age to it. Experience is still great here. Love the old style Martinis with the smaller glasses. Steaks are very good not fantastic but good. I had the New York cut. The Musso and Frank Salad was real tasty and good to split. Also split the baked potato and Brussel sprouts. Food was good waiter was fantastic even on a busy Friday night.
Great place to visit - great food, vibe and friendly setting.....
Loved the experience. Sat at Rolling Stones table. Waiter very attentive to us at all times
This has been one of my favorite spots to dine since I was 12. I It simply never disappoints!
Perfection...always the best. Whatever you order, the flavors are incredible, the service impeccable, the ambiance...Hollywood at it's glamorous. If you want to feel special, the place to be........
M & F is an ultimate LA classic. I recently brought my son here for his first time and it was perfect. I had my fave sand dabs, my son had a steak. A couple sides, caprese as a starter, a couple desserts and I saw the tradition take root in the next generation! Love the service so much.
There a reason M&F has been around for over 70 years. Service is excellent, and the staff treats all guests like regulars. Of course, the food is excellent. And not all old school, but enough so if you want quality nostalgia. Will be back soon.
4 of us had a delightful dinner on Wednesday night. First of all we arrived at 6:00pm, the time of our reservation and were promptly seated at a large booth. Service is friendly and punctual. I especially like restaurants that serve fresh warm bread and water shortly after being seated. For starters, we each had martinis served in classic martini glasses with an iced carafe of chilled vodka. 2 of us had the 10oz Prime Rib that was cooked to perfection. One of our guests had the sand dabs that she throughly enjoyed and my wife had the sour boughten that was more then she could finish. This 100 year old restaurant is a delight to visit and offers quality food with in a classic Hollywood setting.
Two ladies who miss fine dining since being widowed decided to start our adventure of doing what we enjoy, choosing Musso and Frank as a great beginning. What a wonderful choice! Just as fabulous as I remember, beginning with the Special Salad, then filet, both cooked perfectly and so so tasty, along with the stuffed baked potato. I forgot to mention the lovely cocktails... we finished up with my favorite, Diplomat Pudding and my friend enjoyed her Key Lime Pie. We will be back soon!
Maybe I should've ordered my steak rare, but it was too close to medium for my liking
An other wonderful dinner at Musso &
Frank. This time we got a great booth for 4 not in the main room and less noisy. The food was American/French and brasserie style . Best martini and attentive service !!!! My visiting friends loved the place and so do I .
Always a favorite of ours for many years. The food is outstanding and drinks are spot on. Here's to another 100 years!!
Great, classic ambiance, food, and service. Must go!
Always a fan of Musso & Frank, they are family! Great for a special occasions or just lunch or dinner in Hollywood. The staff are the best from front to back of house. and the food is always on point. Wines by the glass are good for even the wine knowledgeable and anything they put on the grill you will be happy with! Rose's cut Prime Rib, The Salmon, The French Fries!!. could go on and on here. but the experience and the amazing staff make this place a long standing institution that it is, and it's well worth it.
An outstanding dining experience, best steak ever!! Waiters and staff beyond professional. Bar scene is
a blast and martinis are beyond. Love this place, our home away from home!
Poor quality food. They hurry you through so they can turn the tables.
Rude and impatient manager. This is our second visit. Last time the waiter got impatient when we were still trying to decide what we wanted. This time we were told to finish our meal or they would have to ask us to leave. We were taking photos of this iconic restaurant that has been featured in many movies and were told there is no photography allowed and we must delete our photos. We were not aware of this policy and there was nothing posted. How is a customer supposed to know? We have never had a restaurant say photos are not allowed. We have never felt so unwelcome. We were expecting a nice meal in an iconic restaurant. We did not expect to get in trouble for taking photos.
Unreal! Do it!
The noisiest place I have ever dined in my life. This is NOT my idea of fine dinning. I thought I'd give this Legendary Hollywood haunt a try, after all it's been a Hollywood institution for 100 years... I am very disappointed.
We arrived on -time - we get walked to the farthest corner of the restaurant, the bar side. It was so LOUD, I asked to be seated in the front side - this side seemed quieter at first, and then discovered not only was it still very loud, our table was along the pathway for non-stop traffic!!!
And the server, while he performed his basic duties of taking our order and delivering it to the table - felt like he was just going through the motions... I tip according to the experience, his was the minimum rate and I felt bad leaving any tip actually.
The food was ok, my date noticed her bone in ribeye steak was significantly smaller and higher priced than her last visit. I ordered the bone in pork chop - it was decent but nothing special. The Lyonaise Potatoes sucked. The wine was fine, and we actually skipped desert, so no idea if that was good.
At $100 per person minimum, this place is stacking cash like nobody's business - they could easily afford some improvements like customer service training and sound proofing for their guest. Doubtful I ever return.
We really enjoyed our time at this classic Hollywood restaurant. The shrimp cocktail was very fresh and my husband loved the stuffed celery. The filets were cooked exactly as we asked and we tried a variety of the sauces. I really liked the cream spinach as a side and would get it again. The chocolate cake was wonderful. We also enjoyed a couple of classic cocktails. Our server Ryan was very attentive and he also gave us helpful suggestions since we were from out of town. We plan to go again on a future visit. This is the oldest restaurant in Hollywood and I loved that it it still looks the same. I wouldn’t want them to change anything.
