Never had a bad meal at M&F. Love the old school vibe, elegant waitstaff who pay attention to the details. Food is always superb, perfect martini with a sidecar, and great bottle of wine.

Finally made it here with a few buddies, after 20 years of living in LA. As others have noted, M&F is an LA institution so the draw is more the overall experience than the actual food. Which is fine, because the food is pretty run-of-the-mill. The prime rib was decent but undistinguished, accompanied by an ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes in a cup that tasted fine but didn’t look terribly appetizing. A French onion soup was oily yet, paradoxically, a bit light on its cheese cap. The bread pudding was in dire need of saucing, one step removed from cafeteria fare. And yet… the place rocks. The staff is friendly and efficient, even when it’s obvious they’re trying to turn the tables over quickly. The prices are quite reasonable (by LA nightlife standards), and the overall vibe — bustling, noisy with happy patrons on a crowded Friday evening — was deeply comforting. You come, you sit, you eat, and you’re happy. Recommended.

The staff were fantastic. Top to bottom. That goes a long way in this world. Everything I asked for was taken care of. It was a thank-you dinner for some great professionals. It worked on all levels. The food was what I expected from Musso and Franks, meaning everyone was happy. The only thing is the noise. I'm getting older and I couldn't hear a lot of the conversation at the table due to the ambient noise and volume. I probably should have asked if we could sit away from the bar or on the other side of the restaurant. That's on me. Again, what a perfect staff.

I love everthing about this wonderful, iconic place, except the parking which is far too expensive especially if you stay over 2 hours, at which time they nail you for 25 bucks.

Everything we ate was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection! I had the filet minion and my husband had the ribeye. We also shared a wedge salad and au gratin potatoes. Our waiter is very attentive, kind and he made my husband's birthday dinner feel so special. He was even kind enough to let us know that the Hollywood Christmas Parade was going on outside so that we were able to enjoy it after our meal. One of the best dining experiences I have ever had. I highly recommend this place. It was worth every penny. The historical aspect of the restaurant adds even more to its charm. Loved it!

Had a lovely dinner for our anniversary. The host and servers both wished us well, we received a congratulatory card and complimentary dessert with a candle. Aside from the great service, the meal was delicious. Lots of choices on the menu And, love the history of the restaurant.

It was my husbands 71st birthday. He had updated their phone system 20 years ago. Leading to his mother working there for 10 years. She retired at the age of 80, she loved her job. I made the reservation I informed them of this story. Upon arriving the Maitri D thanked us for coming & sharing the story of our family. He also handed us a beautiful made birthday card from Musso & Frank. Service, food & ambience was excellent. We were treated like Hollywood royalty. Thank you Paul & Luis , Musso & Frank for making us feel so special.
