Musso & Frank Grill
Always love this LA gem, recommended for a introductory visit (surely to return), great place to bring people from out of town to experience one great place of so many our city has to offer!
We were very happy with everything! Welsh rare jt,Gorgonzola mousse on celery, sand dab and steak grenadine. Special place!
Some friends and I went out to celebrate a girls night and wanted to try something new. We found M&Fs online and were very impressed by the menu. The ambiance is incredible. It really is like traveling through time. The service was great, we had Luis who was charming, professional, and made great wine recommendations. The ceaser salad was out of the park great, honestly the best I've had in my life. The chicken parm was just right and big enough to share amongst the whole table, and the spinach and ricotta ravioli was good but it was the sage/butter sauce that put it over the top. I reccomend the creme brulee or the chocolate cake for dessert but my friends also said the 1919 sundae was excellent, (the trick is to ask for chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla). We are already planning another visit in November with our significant others.
We had a marvelous celebration with M&F's classic martinis, prime rib, steaks, french dip, macaroni and cheese, cream of tomato soup and a birthday desert. The bread is memorable as well. Love M&F.
Great way to celebrate the special occasions in life.
This is a great place to enjoy a true historic Hollywood experience. It is such a contrast from busy Hollywood Boulevard just outside. The staff are very friendly and interesting and the service is exceptional. The menu and ambiance are intentionally old fashioned and that is the charm of the place.
Celebrated a birthday had a wonderful time
I am thrilled to have been served by a lovely female waiter after all of these years ... Victoria is a perfect fit for Musso’s at the start of it’s second 100 years .... as always sitting at the counter with your fabulous grill master, Jose, was a treat!!!!!
Very happy with the entire meal, service and establishment. The place was packed and the service never faltered. Cant wait till next time! Bravo!
Saw the 100th anniversary celebration on TV and figured we had to try out this classic restaurant! We were not alone. Boy was it busy even on a Sunday at 5:30 pm! Had excellent service from Jonathan in the quieter section. Started with the olives (would skip these next time) and a very smooth gin martini. Husband and I shared the sand dabs which were tasty and the truffle mac and cheese which was heavenly. We indulged with the 1919 sundae just because and that was a perfect way to end a meal in such a fabulous place!
Musso & Frank never ceases to be spectacular. In all arenas. The service is absolutely superb, from the host to the waiters to the bus boys. They all make you feel as if you're "home". The food (and martinis, of course) is always perfectly delicious. Just wish we lived closer.
Brian provided excellent service. My fillet mignon was perfectly cooked with a nice layer of char. I brought a couple for whom it was their first time and they loved it. They enjoyed the French cut lamb chops.
I dined at Musso & Frank because I'm a big fan of Michael Connelly and the television series Bosch, based on his books. The books and series feature several Los Angeles restaurants including Musso & Frank. Based upon reading about the restaurant and seeing it on the show, dining there was a must! I wasn't disappointed. This is a classic old school eating establishment with an ambience that screams film noir! My companion compared it to Original Joe's, two iconic restaurants, one located in San Francisco and one in San Jose. The food at Musso & Frank was delicious, the staff was professional and courteous, and the prices were reasonable. I will definitely dine there again!
My all time favorite Hollywood haunt!! It's a time capsule of old Hollywood with wonderful steaks and wine!! I wish I lived inside this restaurant!!
Love that place. Sounds silly but I always think it's a little weird to pay for parking.
Musso and Frank offers the “old Hollywood” experience that I wanted. I had an out of town guest with me who truly enjoyed the experience!
I shall be back ... I love a great “rerun”!
Fantastic dining experience during M&F’s 100th year
This has been on my bucket list of places to go to in LA. It was our Anniversary and was hoping for more but sadly disappointed. What can expect for a Friday night in Hollywood, I was hoping that this was an off night for them.
It was a novelty to have a meal here but will probably not return. Too bad - I was hoping to try their famous fettuccini the next time.
Historic, iconic Hollywood institution for food and drinks!
We went at 3pm so it wasn't crazy busy but the service was great and the food was delicious! We'll definitely be going back but it is a touch pricey. The fun factor makes up for that though.
Very rare for a restaurant to actually read the notes and honor your request for a booth as well as acknowledge your anniversary with a card and a desert ! Total Class
We love Musso and Franks and Thursday night (October 10) was the best ever. It was very busy, and given where it is located in a tourist area, you might expect that it would "coast" and just provide mediocre food. But it was great! I got the Welsh Rarebit, and my husband got the ribeye with baked potato. The sourdough bread and butter was excellent. My old fashioned was world class and my husband really enjoyed his martini. We got the Key Lime pie for dessert, and it was one of the best ever. Plus the waiter was very nice and chatty, and did not come across as in a hurry. It was a great, great, meal! Thank you!
Great classic location, fantastic drinks, very good steaks
Hollywood Royalty! This is Musso & Frank! Great waiters, great staff, great food. Don’t miss the chicken pot on Thursdays it’s delicious. Love this place and will keep coming back again and again.
The food was great, and the ambiance too, but the service is veeeery slow...in spite of that I would eat there again... :)
As always, Musso & Frank never disappoints. Have been coming since I was a youngster with my grandparents. The food is great, diverse, and always prepared perfectly. The waiters are amazing and the service is impeccable. The 100 year buzz continues!
Came here for my birthday dinner. The food was exceptionally delicious and the service was excellent. All the sauces were homemade from scratch. A lot of care was taken to make sure the dishes were well executed. Exceeded expectations
Fine meal at a restaurant we have enjoyed for many years. However, avoid the parking lot. Ruinously bad new rates: one minute over 3 hours and the charge jumps from $5 to $20. Not to mention surly valets.
We always have a wonderful time. The atmosphere, the service, when we sit at the bar, the bartenders are delightful, the food is Excellent. I often get the seafood omelette. Yesterday I ordered steak Tartare and asparagus w hollandaise sauce. Both divine! Always a memorable experience and the nostalgia is the cherry on top.
As always, Musso and Frank is impeccable. The food is superlative, the waiters are attentive without being obtrusive, and they make you feel valued. And, of course, it's an LA classic, in its 100th year. What could be better?
Revisited M&F week after their 100th Anniversary Week. A Tuesday evening, and they were very busy. Great start! Sat in original dinning room. Server, prompt and welcoming. Martini ordered and when delivered, ice cold with extra small carafe served on the side, Classic!
Very Old School menu, and loved it. That’s why you come here. Actually very hard to choose appetizers, mains and the lot, so many choices. Came with 3 friends, so we shared. Escargot thinly pastry wrapped, and season with just the right amount of garlic. Not swimming in butter, great preparation! Again , a Classic delicious Steak Tartare was presented, quality grade steak and garni’s on point.
Entrees were beautiful prepared, and seasoned perfectly. Did not use salt or pepper the entire night! My Bone in Pork Chop was grilled a wonderful medium rare and swimming in its own juices. Sweetbreads lightly dusted in flour and lightly fried. Which left them crisp tender and moist! Their Classic/ Original Fettuccine Alfredo was much lighter then other versions, no cream used. There’s a back story to this dish, but I’ll let your server tell it. We had several other dishes and also desserts, but I want to end this review.
Needless to say, I was so delighted with this experience and their loyalty to Tradition and Old Hollywood that, even though, we live 65 miles away, we’re already making plans to come back.
I must note, I recently experienced Pacific Dinning Car, and can only say, will not be going back. Maybe a visit to Musso & Franks will remind them what True Old School dining is about. Thanks M&F!
Very good. Relaxing. Busy with theatre crowd. Great martinis..........though parking is over price at $20.00.
Always amazing, worth every penny. Phenomenal service, amazing cocktails, impeccable food and great historical setting.
It was a Sunday so it was super packed and SUPER noisy. My mom wanted to go for her birthday and it happened to be we planned to go on a Sunday but I definitely wouldn’t go on the weekend again.
I felt very overwhelmed by all the noise of people talking and the booth my mom and I sat in was super tiny and felt cramped. The food was good as it usually is and the waiter was super sweet and the place itself is historical so for that it’s worth going but I definitely would go during a less busy time.
Fantastic service and food. We’ll definitely be returning!
An institution of Las Angeles dinning. But an aging institution behind the times in the areas that it could improve. Ordered one Old Fashioned that was not very good. Muddled charry etc... Service was mediocre. Server didn't tell us what was sold out on the menu. Ordered a the lobster tail, filet and sides. The server didn't know they were out of the tail until he tried to put in our order. Then came back 15 minutes later to tell us. Filet was cold when it arrived. The best part of the whole experience were the sides. Great potatoes au gratin and creamed spinach. Basically a disappointing tourist trap.
